Keyaki Japanese Restaurant at Pan Pacific | Top Japanese Restaurant Singapore

ABBEY: Dinner at Keyaki is our last hurrah for our 10th wedding anniversary. It is one of the top Japanese restaurants in Singapore and we booked for their 6-course dinner.

The ambiance of the place is like on the movies set in Japan and the music is low almost quiet and then you will just wait for the samurais to come in for action to begin :)

All the items are carefully crafted and the presentation is superb. You’ll get excited when the next item will arrive and how will it arrive. I really like the teapot soup, wagyu beef shank and the sashimi (good wasabi).

A great way to wrap up our milestone.

WILL: 10th year celebration isn’t over! We are thankful for Citibank’s 1-for-1 deal and we got the chance to tick off Keyaki out of our must to eat list.

So what is rave about this Keyaki Restaurant located at Pan Pacific Hotel? Since the travel restriction implemented people are looking on ways to feel that they are somewhat outside the country. And behold! Keyaki has this minka (traditional Japanese house) and before you reached the restaurant, you will be welcomed by torii gate, zen garden, and koi pond. Once you entered the restaurant you will be amazed on the woodworks inside. Indeed! It is like traveling to Japan minus the weather. Hehe.

On food! Yes! I am delighted of their appetizer! It is fresh and hello there firefly squid! What really notable is their soup! Soup is presented in a pot and it quite uncommon for me(sorry) haha. It reminds me playing this kind of claypot when I am at age of 5. And on this 3rd course.. I am already full. Haha!

Beef shank is tender and there is a momentous amount egg yolk sauce on the grilled sea food. Yummmy!

No contest.. Keyaki is one of the top notch Japanese restaurant here in Singapore! They will make you really feel, see and taste that you are in Japan!

dnata Lounge (Singapore Changi Terminal 3)

ABBEY: We used our annual Priority Pass to access airport lounges for free. This time, we went to dnata Terminal 3 lounge.

They were serving breakfast when we visited and this includes congee, croissant, brown and white bread, red bean bun, chicken siew mai, cornflakes, coffee and tea. They also have softdrinks, wine, beer, and ale.

I indulged in their siew mai dipped in soy sauce. Wow. They also have a shower and reading rooms. On further back of the lounge, you can see the planes....

WILL: DNATA Lounge at Changi Terminal 3 won the Best Indepent Airport Lounge 2015 award and of course it makes me curious to check it out.

We were greeted by an all-smile staff in their lobby. And as we enter the place we were welcomed by the food served in the middle of the area. They are serving breakfast that time and I am astounded that they have siew mai. Yes, I indulged in that food, then I tried their bread. Washed off it by tea.

I enjoyed eating there while watching tv that plays Just For Laughs. Sofas are pretty comfy and the place itself is quiet and on that, you can have your own peace before your flight. Ooh! You can take a shower in there too!

Thanks DNATA for accommodating and filling our tummy for few hours before our flight.

The Green Market (SIN7) - Changi Terminal 2

ABBEY: We're always excited going to airport as it means we'll go for vacation and we also get to used our lounge passes. Green Market is one of them. It serves Japanese cuisine.

Upon arrival, we were given comfy seats and then we headed to the buffet. I got a bowl of salmon soup. It was hot and comforting. Each chuck of salmon melted on my mouth, no chewing needed. (Just apply pressure, haha) I also tried their pasta salad.

It is creamy and aromatic because of capsicum strips. I also had a couple of plates of maki. Too bad their Unagi don is a one-time serving only; it was really delicious.

Of course, unlimited tea and coffee are available after filling up your tummy with sumptuous food.

WILL: Again, special thanks to Priority Pass from Citibank for the opportunity to have a complimentary access to different lounges not only in Singapore but to other countries. This is our second time to use the Priority Pass and on this we took the chance to check out the Green Market at Changi Terminal 2.

It is located at the 3rd floor just beside McDonalds. It is a Japanese cuisine. Please take note that sashimi is limited, so savour it on every bite. I kept coning back for their sushi and salad pasta.

They have food, tv and magazines to entertain their guests. Well, I can stay there for hours and eat all their salad pasta. Haha! A peaceful place to visit before your flight.

Crystal Jade Kitchen at Holland Village & Crystal Jade My Bread at Takashimaya

ABBEY: We had another round of Citibank points to exchange into vouchers. We chose Crystal Jade for a change. The vouchers are redeemable either on their restaurants or bakeries. We had dinner at their branch in Holland Village. You can do a walk-in or to be sure make a reservation. The place is jam-packed. Its a good thing the staff allowed us to have a table at the second floor. They gave us less than hour to dine as the place will be used for a function.

I tried their Fried Noodle with Shredded Pork & Cabbage . As it is a Chinese cuisine, the dish is flavorful and presented beautifully. We also tried their dumplings. The sauce and the dumplings complement each other well; leaving you to crave for more.

For a 30sgd-meal we only paid 10sgd less the 20sgd voucher. The other voucher we spent buying bread on their bakery at Crystal Jade My Bread at Takashimaya. This made Wilma ecstatic. She liked bread and pastries a lot. We bought floss, their must-have Mini Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bun, cake, coffee and milk buns. She was very happy seeing large quantities of dough-delight put in two large plastic bags. As we can't finish them all before expiration we shared some to our housemates.

Thanks Crystal Jade.

WILL: Do you know that Crystal Jade serves Authentic Chinese Cuisine with love for beyond two decades already? Do you know that Crystal Jade is one of established restaurant well-known not only in Singapore but across Asia. Do you know that Crystal Jade not only have restaurants but also have bakeries?
Holland Village Is the nearest branch of Crystal Jades's restaurant from our home. We called because when we pass by at their place, we always saw that they are fully-packed and the queue is too long, but its too late, the reservation list was full and they just asked us to be their walked-in guests. We agreed and hailed taxi immediately, we don't like to be caught up on a long line of grumbling stomachs. Haha!
No queue as we arrived by 530PM, they immediately assisted us to the second floor. I ordered La Mian Soup with minced pork and vegetable wanton. When I saw the serving, I already knew that I will carry a take-away bag later.. It is too many for me, and Abbey already raised both hands in surrender to eat my left-over. It costs $9.50 but good for two serving. The soup and the noodles is so tasty. So delicious!
Abbey went for Fried Noodle with Shredded Pork & Cabbage in Shanghai Style for $12.80, so good that he managed to eat it all, he also ordered a Deep-fried Pork Rib in "Wu Xi" Style for $8.50.
This date night costs us to pay the $40.00 voucher.
Then Abbey and I decided to spend the remaining $20.00 on their breads. After our remittance at iRemit at Lucky Plaza, we went to Crystal Jade My Bread located at Takashimaya. Gosh, there are so many breads... newly baked and the alluring aroma keep me to pick more breads that the costs of the our voucher, haha.. We added $2.00.The bread is so tasty, I am really the fan of their bakery since I tasted their tarts! Love it a lot!
Before I forgot, thank you so much to Citibank Singapore for the $60.00 vouchers.

Eatzi Gourmet Restaurant

ABBEY: We got another round of vouchers from our bank. Before heading to our archery session we had out lunch at Eatzi Gourmet in Safra Country Club. Eatzi Gourmet is one of the diner chains of JP Pepperdine. I got their October promo of N.Z. strip loin steak at less than 20sgd. Top it with 5sgd more and you've got soup of the day, dessert and hot drink.

The steak come with baked potato topped with sour cream, and vegetable side dish. The taste is great. My jaw got tired as I chew the big steak. The dessert os a slice of crumble pie. Small as it is but the flavor will have a big  burst in your mouth. We ended the lunch with coffee and tea. The place is homey and light.

WILL: Weekend and you want to go out and looking somewhere to eat your lunch or dinner without the buzzing business of crowded place? Why not go here at Safra Yishun Country Club, here located is the Eatzi Gourmet.
From Punggol we just took bus and got there for only 40 mins. As we entered the building, a lovely receptionist smiled us and told Abbey to just let the green footprints lead our way to the restaurant. We followed and gladly reached this relaxing and family oriented place.
As we sat down, they gave us menu and Abbey went for steak, and for me was Norwegian Salmon Smothered. The baked salmon when hits the sauce is a really clicked tandem. It costs $18.50 and we topped up $4.80 to have a soup, dessert and hot drinks.
Oh my, I cannot finish the salmon because I really squeezed in my stomach all the mashed potato. I had only two spoons of the lovely crumb pie and the half cup of the tea. Gosh, my tummy is so full.
Citibank really rocks! We have this opportunity to taste the foods from Eatzi Gourmet because of the points-system of their credit cards.

Dôme Cafés Singapore

ABBEY: When we got our vouchers for Dome Cafe we decided to visit their branch at Dempsey Hill. I tried their seared fish fillet; and it comes with fries and green salad.

I also had mocha. The taste is delicious and texture is very fine. It is served on a fancy mug. Dome Cafe also pasta (starts at less than 15sgd) and sandwiches at less 10sgd.

WILL: First of all, thank you Citibank credit cards for this vouchers.
I got a breakfast when Abbey is from night shift, a very yummy sandwich and tea from Dome Cafe. Then when I got the chance to choose for Citibank vouchers, I intentionally chose to have a $20 voucher on this cafe and I want to invade their branch at Dempsey Hill(I am really curious on this place). One stone, two hits.
After our remittance in Lucky Plaza, we hit bus 123 after 20mins we are at the Dome Cafe. I really asked Abbey to allow me to drink a coffee. Its been 6months since my last cup of it. Abbey agreed then I savor to their cappuccino($4.60). I enjoy the every sip I had done. Haha.
Since it was Saturday, I just ate the free lunch from our office, so I only asked to order one seared fish fillet to share. The fillet fish is so soft and their tartar sauce and mango dip made a difference to others.
You may like to visit their Dempsey Hill branch, another way to spend a weekend.

Jack's Place

ABBEY: Our bank gave us vouchers to this dinner. Upon receiving it we headed to its branch at Compasspoint at Sengkang. It's a cozy place; lowly-lit with candle lights gave the place a romantic ambiance. I tried their steak and it tastes good. Prices for main dish starts at 13sgd. We ended the meal with a scoop of ice cream.

WILL: We acquire the points from Abbey's bank then we hurriedly took our dinner at Jack's Place.
Abbey ordered the Mixed Grill Combo for and for me I had this Baked Fish Fillet in Cream Sauce. We add up not more than $5 to avail the deluxe up-grade. After they served the food, it seems that we are still dating. Why, the romantic ambiance is so nice that it will set-up your mood. Quality time indeed!
The food tastes a lot better than other we visited. You know that they do not compromise the ingredients on their food. Sarap talaga!
Soup and garlic bread as starters and end up our appetite with brownies and vanilla ice cream. I am sooooo full! Oh, by the way, Abbey's brownies just tastes like what the served to us. :D
