Where to Eat in Siem Reap, Cambodia

ABBEY:
New Leaf Eatery
After a whole day walk during the temple tour, we had a late lunch at New Leaf. It is a social enterprise restaurant where they are donating part of their profits to charity.
I ordered Vegetable curry. It has pumpkin, long beans, cauliflower, and broccoli. The curry is on the sweet side but I liked it, and it is creamy as well.

We decided to splurge a little and we booked a reservation at Park Hyatt to have high tea. It was presented very well; looks like pieces of jewelry.
It has sliders, cookies, panettone, macarons, and cakes. Teas, coffees, and juices are on free flow. I like the sliders and macarons the most. Make sure to put no sugar on your coffee, the icing on the cookies will complement the taste.

For out dinner after a day of temple tour, we happened to eat at a bar and restaurant with the name Temple. I was attracted by their grilled dishes but ended up ordering “adobo”-like dish. At first spoonful it really was adobo but on the sweeter side. The pork meat as well as the fat melts in your mouth. Enough to fill me up and give me satisfaction and comfort after a day’s walk. They also serve local and Western dishes.

WILL: We visited once the PUB Night Market but Abbey and I are too old for all those noise and too crowded place.

To get some good local food we chose to dine at:
New Leaf Eatery - we had our late lunch here. It is indeed an award after all the long walk and battle against  sunrays. Once you are seated, you will be welcomed by a drink and a cold towel! Wohhoooo! A quencher! I ordered the famous fish amok. Everything is awesome. From the way of serving up to its taste. The sauce is creamy and doesn’t lack any flavour. Super!

A nap after the temple tour, we decided to walk (500m) to Temple Design Restaurant. It is located at the corner of Ring Boutique Street. What funny is, the alcoholic drinks have the same price as sodas. Haha. I went for the Nom Banh Chock. And it only costs USD2.50 on their promotion. The noodles were perfectly firm and the sauce complemented it well. While dining, we got a chance to watch a UFC fightthrough  their huge tv screen. This is way lot cheaper than eating at their PUB street.

Saturday is layback time for us. Before going to our hot air balloon ride, we took a high tea at The Living Room of Park Hyatt Siem Reap. I keep wondering how this 3-tier small bite bread/desserts can fill my stomach? On their Festive High Tea menu, some of the bread selection reminds us of what we are eating in the Philippines on our childhood days. For me, the price (US$35)is pretty steep, you may look for an alternative when you visit Siem Reap.

That’s the three restaurants that marked on our Siem Reap visit. Hope this list will help you.
