Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater - Lunch Buffet (SM Mall of Asia by The Bay)

ABBEY: We scheduled a date with Papa Boy before going back to Singapore. We reserved seats for lunch in Banzai, a Japanese restaurant at SM Mall of Asia. Ate Beth and Rai tagged along. An adult costs 668 pesos (drinks included) and free for my nephew.

My first plate had sushi and sashimi. Then I had beef tepanyaki, chicken karaage and yakitori. They also have variety of fried rice; teppanyaki, garlic and shrimp paste. Yes, that was a cheat day for me. They also serve Filipino food like chicken-pork adobo and spare ribs sinigang. And I was really with the sinigang. I went back 3-4 times.

It was fun time and I enjoyed it much as I can see my father happy as well.

WILL: Buffet Restaurants are really the craze in Philippines. No wonder many Filipinos (ehem, including my siblings) gaining weight. The buffets are more affordable than buying an ala-carte meal plus drinks in other food establishments.

Anyway, if you want to see some choices for buffet, you can go to Mall of Asia and more than 4 restaurants are offering eat-all-you-can in there.

I made a reservation at Banzai! It was located just beside the MOA Eye (Ferris Wheel). Luckily, there is a promotion for Visa Credit Card holders, we pay three for 4 adults. Nice right?

As usual, indulge with ebi tempura, sashimi, and sushi. I can't remember how many plates I had of those. Haha. I tried their flavoured fried chicken and some sweets. I fell in love with their mocha meringue. I am the culprit! Haha! I ate it all and felt sad when I saw nothing left on the table but after few minutes, saw some refills and I attacked it again. Remembered my childhood days. Haha.

We went there for lunch buffet, weekdays. Very recommendable.

The Old Spaghetti House (Mall of Asia Branch)

ABBEY: I admit; this is the restautant where Wilma and I used to date as it is near my office and she'll wait until work is over. Also, I like spaghetti. So after our Boracay adventure  we went to Mall of Asia and found out their branch there. It was nostalgic; going back to where you started makes you more in love with your partner in life.

We had red sauce pasta, carbonara, 2 large pizza and a serving of fried chicken. We ordered their promotion during that time and it only costs us Php2,599++; enough for 10pax.

The kids have their strawberry and chocolate milkshakes.

WILL: This is not my first time to eat here, Abbey dated me here when we were still a boyfriend/girlfriend status.

So when I found out that Mall of Asia have a branch of The Old Spaghetti House, I excitedly told to my siblings that we will have a dinner there. They were happy because they never tried it before.

It is Thursday night and luckily there are some space available for a big group like us. We ordered one of their Real Deal bundled meal. Since the pesto pasta is not included on the package, I ordered for an ala-carte. The taste never changed, gosh! Memories of their pasta rushed back to my brain. Haha! I love their pizzas. I took 4 slices and one my niece look at me and asked the 4th slice for her, and happily gave that piece. Hehe. (Minsan kasi madamot akong tita)

Total experience is very good. The waiters are very energetic and ready to take all our requests. Thanks TOSH Mall of Asia for the time spent with noisy customers like us. ;)

Vikings: Luxury-Buffet Restaurant

ABBEY: Another buffet restaurant that you can enjoy dining in. Make sure to have your table reservations to avoid disappointment. We were supposed to be there at 7pm but due to flight delays we got there by 8pm; only an hour and a half to indulge.

During that time people are still queueing for their tables. The place is jam-packed but it has a homey ambiance and the aroma of delicious food all over the place. My first plates are chicken satay, pork belly and baby back ribs which I found a little less moist and juicy. You have to put sauce to have the flavor up. I got Wilma her favorite puto-bumbong; a voilet-colored rice delight topped with niyo and brown sugar. I tried pork spare ribs, nido soup, and shanghai fried rice.

They serve Japanese cuisine like sushi, fresh salmon carvings, and miso soup.

WILL: Are you devoted in pursuing a sensual pleasure in enjoyment of good food but you are in a tight budget? Then, go ahead to the Mall of Asia Bldg B, oh I forgot, if you want to cut a queue please make a reservation through their facebook or email at reservations.vikings@yahoo.com.
I am very very satisfied on their bibingka, puto bumbong, hot taho and pork & shrimp siomai. And the rest?, not good, not bad...just nothing special.
Some issues were raised when they confirmed three pax but gave us a table for two people and when they gave me a receipt and not handed my credit card. Until now my card is with them and they secured it as "safe" but when I told them to cut the card into two ask for the name behind those messages, 3 days passed and yet no reply from them. They never refill some of the servings. I don't know why.
The dinner costs us Php932.40. Will I go back there? Of course, for eat all you can putobungbong. :)

The White Hat Italian Frozen Yogurt

Visited Branch
 SM Annex
 Glorietta 3
SM Mall of Asia

Abbey:
At first skeptical ako, kasi di pa ako nakakatikim nito. Inosente ako sa ganitong bagay. Hehe. But when I tasted it, it was good. Yogurt na nilagay sa freezer at constant ang halo para may consistency. The taste is sweet and sour with a soft, smooth and creamy texture. The food is healthful, it helps fights the bad bacteria sa tummy just like Yakult :) Its good to have a treat like this once in a while. I think 90 to 100 pesos will not hurt our wallet that much.

Will: Tsk, we don't have pictures when we visited other branches of The White Hat. Who introduced me to this healthy food?, nonetheless it's Belle De Jour Power Planner 2009. Since then, I got addicted with its sour and creamy taste.
When I went to Vietnam, I got some yogurt for a complimentary breakfast in my hotel. Since then I keep on looking and buying yogurts on Metro Manila's groceries, but my search is futile. Until one day, I saw a coupon on my planner...a 1-for-1 deal, I asked Abbey to get some this frozen yogurt sa SM North.
Finally...I tasted and found what I am looking for months. Mmmmmmm, lasang lasa talaga ang milky taste nya and sourness. Tsalap-tsalap.
Since then, The White Hat never fails our taste buds.
