Is Sio Pasta Actually Worth the Wait? (Great Food, But Here’s Why I Won't Be Back!)

ABBEY: Our first attempt to dine at Sio Pasta didn’t go as planned because the queue was simply too long. Fortunately, on our second visit, the line was much shorter, and we were able to get seats at the bar within a few minutes.

We ordered The Best Mentaiko Pasta and Neapolitan Beyond Neapolitan with Pork Sausage. Both dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, with each pasta offering its own unique and well-balanced flavor. Between the two, I personally preferred the Neapolitan. The rich tomato-based sauce paired wonderfully with the juicy pork sausage pieces, making every bite satisfying. The Mentaiko Pasta was flavorful as well, although I found it a little too salty for my taste.

The presentation of both dishes was impressive and definitely added to the overall dining experience. Since we were seated at the bar, we also had a front-row view of the kitchen while our food was being prepared. It was interesting to watch the chefs at work, but I did notice that the food handling and the hygienic placement of utensils could still be improved.

Overall, Sio Pasta serves delicious pasta that’s worth the wait, especially if you’re a fan of freshly made, al dente pasta with generous flavors.

WILL: Another day, another crazy long queue! 😅

If you’ve been scrolling through your feeds lately, you’ve definitely seen Sio Pasta popping up. The glowing reviews are absolutely overflowing, and it seems like half of Singapore is permanently standing in line outside their doors—both at lunch and dinner!

Naturally, I had to go see what the fuss was about. But is it actually worth the wait, or is it just clever marketing? Here is my brutally honest review.

Let’s start with the good stuff because, honestly, the kitchen knows how to prep a plate. I ordered the Mentaiko Pasta, and let me tell you: the online hype is 100% real.
—-The Texture: The pasta had the perfect, bouncy "QQ" texture—cooked to absolute al dente perfection.
—-The Sauce: They do not skimp here! The rich, savory mentaiko sauce was generous enough to completely coat every single strand of pasta on the plate.

Watching the behind-the-scenes action of how our orders were actually handled and cooked totally ruined the magic for me. While the food tasted incredible, what happens behind the counter stayed with me long after the meal was over. Arghhh!

Have you queued up for Sio Pasta yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Cafe Hopping in Singapore: Why MOZmoji Cafe Needs to Be on Your Bucket List!

ABBEY: Another café has joined the city’s growing coffee scene, and this one offers more than just good coffee. MOZmoji Cafe welcomes guests with an art gallery-inspired space, featuring beautifully crafted ceramic pieces and wooden furniture that double as part of the café’s exhibit. While waiting for a table, visitors can take their time browsing the curated collection, making the experience feel both relaxing and inspiring.

For our drinks, we ordered the Pistachio Vienna and Salted Cocoa Latte. What immediately caught our attention was how the barista invited us to choose the cup for our beverages. It may seem like a small detail, but it added a thoughtful and personalized touch to the overall café experience.

The Salted Cocoa Latte delivered a rich cocoa flavor enhanced by a subtle hint of salt. The balance was well-executed, allowing the espresso notes to remain present without being overpowered. Meanwhile, the Pistachio Vienna showcased a bold and nutty profile, with the pistachio flavor taking center stage in every sip.

MOZmoji Cafe offers a refreshing way to enjoy coffee. Surrounded by carefully curated ceramics and warm wooden accents, the space encourages guests to slow down, appreciate the details, and savor the moment. It is the kind of café that blends coffee, art, and design into a single experience, creating an elegant atmosphere perfect for a leisurely afternoon in the city.

We need to talk about their menu, specifically their Pistachio Flavoured Coffee. It is hands-down one of the best we have ever tried! We were honestly surprised by how quickly it became one of our all-time favorites. If you love unique, nutty, and creamy coffee notes, this is a must-order.

Finally! Chick-fil-A Singapore is HERE! (The Only One in Asia!)

ABBEY: We tried a couple of times to visit Chick-fil-A, but the long queues always made us hesitate. Eventually, we realized the line wasn’t going anywhere, so we went for it. Good thing we did, because the wait was much shorter when we finally visited.

We ordered the original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich and the Deluxe Sandwich. Both were impressively juicy and full of flavor in every bite, from the soft bun to the perfectly cooked chicken. The Deluxe Sandwich, topped with melted cheese, looked just as good as it tasted and was definitely photo-worthy.

On the side, we had their signature Waffle Potato Fries along with all six dipping sauces. Personal favorites? The Chick-fil-A sauce, Garden Herb Ranch, and Honey Mustard stood out.

To complete the meal, we treated ourselves to a rich, hand-spun chocolate milkshake. This is one of those moments where calorie counting takes a backseat, and honestly, it’s worth it.

WILL: The legendary Chick-fil-A has landed at Bugis+ Singapore, and it’s bringing all the golden, crispy vibes you’ve been dreaming of!

If you’re a local foodie, a tourist on a mission, or just someone who lives for a good waffle fry, here is why this is the must-visit food spot in Singapore right now.

Why Everyone is Obsessed:

Their Original Chicken Sandwich is pressure-cooked in 100% peanut oil. It’s juicy, tender, and tucked into a buttery brioche bun. One bite and you’ll get the hype!

Waffle Fry Heaven: Say goodbye to boring fries. These lattice-cut beauties are built to scoop up maximum Chick-fil-A Sauce.

The Famous "My Pleasure" Service: Experience that world-class hospitality right here in the heart of Bugis.

Since this is the only permanent outlet in Asia, it’s the ultimate "I was here" photo op for your feed! Do not forget to order their milkshakes.

Sky22 Semi Buffet Lunch Singapore- A Joyful Skyline Feast Perfect for Celebrations

ABBEY: We wrapped up the year with a relaxed brunch at Sky22 at Courtyard by Marriott Singapore, and it turned out to be a lovely choice. Located on the twenty-second floor, the restaurant offers an impressive view of the surroundings. From our table, we could see the ongoing construction of Toa Payoh Sports Centre beside the park, as well as a portion of MacRitchie Reservoir in the distance. The elevated vantage point really adds to the dining experience.

We went for the semi-buffet brunch, where you choose one main course and enjoy free-flow access to the salad bar, bread, soup, and desserts. For my main, I ordered the Wagyu Beef Cheek Bourguignon, which was incredibly tender and comforting. It was served with crispy kale, carrot purée, and mushrooms, a well-balanced and satisfying plate.

The buffet spread was fun to explore. I ended up creating my own version of a “Subway-style” sandwich using tomatoes, pork sausage, corn, and leafy greens. Simple, but surprisingly good. Dessert was just as enjoyable. I filled my plate with dragon fruit, watermelon, and chocolate cookies. There were also ice cream options like lime sorbet, cookies and cream, and chocolate. The chocolate won me over, and I had it both in a cone and in a bowl.

More than just the food, it was a meaningful way to close the year. Over brunch, we talked about everything that happened over the past months and shared our goals for the coming year. It was an easygoing and thoughtful way to end the year on a positive note.
