Custom-made Watch from Bicycles.Sg

ABBEY: We were sent a watch and asked to try it and give our opinions to it. It was said that it was a sports watch and it is unisex. But sad to say, it is not. I haven't got the opportunity to wear it. But it was a good accessory for my wife.

The watch is white in color, big but lightweight, and has crystals/diamond on each hour. I hope they have a model for the guys.

WILL: Delighted to read an email for a product review. Too surprised that this blog was slowly making its way to spotlight. First, thanks to Bicycle Singapore for this opportunity.

We received a white watch. Of course I love it because it is one of my favorite color. I wore it while working and before my lunch break I found some pencil writings on it. Yes, I am using pencils for writing. Instead of using erasers, I just used my fingers to take it off and it was gone. The surface is made of plastic, no need to worry about scratches. Inside was embedded by "diamonds" that it made look more elegant and formal. The bracelet was made of plastic, I run my nose on it after my sweat settled but it do not produce a stench. It is lightweight, it wont stress your risk at all.

If you want cheap and with an "elegant" look watch. You can have this one. :) Please click here for more details. :)

Leonardo da Vinci's Earlier Mona Lisa at The Arts House at the Old Parliament Singapore

ABBEY: Two paintings or one? Labelling and exhibiting as 'Earlier version of Monalisa', the ownership is as mysterious as the woman in the canvass.

Singapore is the first leg of the exhibiton and we're glad that we got a chance for the tour of the lady. For 20sgd, each guest will be given a tablet along with headphones to have a guided tour. It explains the meticulous process the painting went to state its claim. From physical inspection, history, x-rays, symmetry up into the number of pixels, the two artworks have huge similarities.
Even experts and critics were baffled by it.

For me it won't matter if there will be two paintings. It would just add  a number more for the iconic works of Master Leonardo.

WILL: Have a second painting of Mona Lisa?!

That question intrigued me and furiously requested Abbey to have a date with me at the The Old Parliament House. But because of tight schedule, we passed the idea week after week. Until we won tickets for the said Mona Lisa’s world tour. Leonardo da Vinci’s Earlier Mona Lisa started its worldwide journey here in Singapore. How lucky the Singapore right?

The exhibit answered intricately all the mind-boggling questions we have. Is it true? Does Leonardo painted it by himself? If yes, what are their proofs? What will be the look for the Earlier version of Mona Lisa? How did they find it? I admittedly amazed by the way of mathematical and painting techniques used by Leonardo. He is really a master of his art.

Room after room while listening to the tab lent to us, we arrived at the final room. The room where the younger Mona Lisa waits for us! This is a hair-raising experience! The room have dim lights and very cold surroundings. No spotlight for the painting as painting has its own lighting. Gosh! Face to face with Mona Lisa! Goosebumps!

This painting changed the history. Now I have this urge to see the Mona Lisa of Louvre.

2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix - Pit Lane Experience

ABBEY: What if you're given a chance to see the garages of Formula 1 cars? Would you forfeit it? I almost did. Good thing we got a final reminder letter that I won a pair of ticket for the event. And it must be redeemed online on that day only. It is not that I ignored the congratulatory mail, but it was in the spam inbox. We registered hurriedly and got our tickets.

The event is on the eve of 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix. We entered Gate 1 at 7:30PM and just in time the party kicked off. Performers from around the world render their acts; live bands, buskers like human topiaries and Invisible Man, and the "drummer boys" (Wicked Aura). It was nostalgia; we're in the same zone last 2012 and there we were again.

At quarter past nine, the walk commenced. We were in Turn 1. The view is spectacular. Now I know why the ticket price is premium. You can have good snaps on this place. Then we came to the garages and pit. The mechanics are busy with the preparation for practice session the next day. We even saw some team practicing their routine in changing the tires.

From the Red Bull, Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel emerged. Just like his car, he was too fast to avoid being mugged by shutterbugs. He did signed some autographs and pose for snap, but lightning-quick giving me a blur picture of him :) We also took snaps on the starting point and then headed home.

WILL: Tuesday night while doing my routine of checking emails, my eyes got bigger when I saw a congratulatory email from Singapore F1. Gosh we won a pair of ticket for Thursday Pit Lane experience. Gosh, we are so blessed! Haha!

F1 revving engines is addictive. I like racing and the risk that comes with it, the adrenaline and the energy. So when Abbey and I decided not to go for this year, we are quite sad but we need to stand our decision. Even though we do not bought any ticket for 2015 race, Singapore F1 still gave us a chance to feel the F1 fever.

We queued around 7PM watched the performances of Carlos Castano, Fungkimunkees and listen to the beat of Wicked Aura and take some photos with The Living Topiary. Thousands of people were chilling, drinking and merry making before the gate to the Pit Stop finally opens its doors to the public.

When I stepped to the track, our Fan Zone memories came back to me. When I can get to see again F1 from the Fan Stand? Huhu! Anyways, we walked and checked one by one the Pit Stop of every cars. And for a bonus, Sebastian Vettel came out from nowhere, say hi to the fans and run out from the crowd. Haha!

Thanks again Singapore F1 for this. Hopefully next year you got a better performers at Padang stage..

Wings of Time - Where Imagination Takes Flight

ABBEY: After the seven-year stint of Songs of the Sea, it ended with flying colours. And speaking of flying, Sentosa offers another light, water and sound show with Wings of Time.

We won a pair of tickets on the first day of the show itself. It was a story of Shahbaz going his way home with the help of Rachel and her friend Felix. Yes that is the story line. I can't see the connection of the concerto maestro as well as the role of the other casts on the plot. Once the animation began, the casts were "casted" on the sidelines unlike on the Songs of the Sea wherein there is an interaction. But in Wings of Time, the light show and fireworks are better. Your eyes will feast on the light patterns as well as its coordination with the fireworks and water.

Tickets were priced at 18SGD for regular and 23SGD for premium seats.

WILL: Thanks to the State of Fun for giving us an opportunity to see first the most awaited show at Sentosa…The Wings of Time debuts last 17th of June.

The place is packed with people. Unlike Songs of the Sea, the audiences was more comprised more by adults. I am surprised that the performers singing LIVE! The speakers is more louder, the spotlight is more clearer, and there is more interaction form the viewers than before. Sorry for comparing this show at the SOS, maybe people cannot avoid to compare the past from every successor.

The water show, light and pyrotechnics here is better. Projectors is magnificent. Storyline? I think they need to improve the closing remarks.

Who wants to travel back time but no Time Machine to use? Go ahead at Sentosa and watch the Wings of Time. Click at Deal.Com.Sg Banner below for discounted rates.

Disney - Maleficent Premiere Night (Singapore)

ABBEY: Once again, thank you Nuffnang for the pair of tickets.

SPOILER ALERT: This movie will change your perception regarding the evil witch and on the whole fairy tale.
The portrayal of Maleficent by Angelina is superb. It is just like the animated movie came to life. The soft side of the "fallen" fairy was shown as well as why she got angry with humans resulting in seeking her revenge.

Is it just me or Disney is setting the trend that "Prince Charmings" are not needed to give the one true love? They started on Frozen, now on Maleficent.

WILL: I am not your typical girl who loves "and they live happily ever after". I am a villain-enthusiast. I am more interested on the exciting lives of the people behind the miserable, sad, and boring life of princesses.

When Disney Studios introduced the Maleficent trailer starred by Angelina Jolie, all I do is count days on its showing date and wait for Nuffnang to give a pair ticket for us to attend its premiere night. Lo and behold, we won a ticket for 3D, premiere night at The Cathay.

It's all about the truth behind the unforgivable mistake done by a person you love. Revenge. How true love voids curse.

Again, good movie Disney..

Indian Curry House - Delivery by Foodpanda Singapore

ABBEY: What if you're craving for food but don't know which one is it? Try Food Panda (foodpanda.sg). They will list cuisines/restaurants available in Singapore and from there you can narrow down your search.

We've tried its services and we took order on Indian Curry House. We got chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and naan (plain, garlic, and kheema). They told us that our food will be delivered by 12:30pm but they were 30 minutes early. The food is hot and "hot". It got me sweating as I munch on naan with chicken tikka. But it doesn't stop me in getting a plate of rice and indulge on the spiciness of the food.

Food Panda is recommendable if you want to have variety of choices. Order on their website or thru their phone app.

WILL:  When we received an email from Foodpanda Singapore, I was so surprised, excited and kind of worried for this is our first sponsored review. I asked my husband, what if I do not like the taste? What if the delivery service fails my expectation? So many what ifs and then 10th of April, without any alert given to Foodpanda, we ordered lunch at Indian Curry House.

930am I woke up and checkout foodpanda website. The restaurants were still close, and the fascinating fact is we can pre-order and choose what time we want for them to deliver the food. I put 1130am just in time for our lunch. We received an email for confirmation and a call that they will be late for an hour, we are willing to wait. Our cravings for Indian Cuisine is really kicking in.

12pm the food arrived, earlier than we expected. After a prayer and some shots, we ate like a caveman. Haha! I love their Garlic Naan dipped in to Chicken Tikka Masala sauce. Its a perfect tandem. The samosa stands-out for its sour after taste.

Going back to FoodPanda service, they have all types of cuisines in a one roof. So you do not need to jump in and off in any other websites just to look for what your tastebuds longing for. In payment, they have 3 options for you.. Pay by cash, paypal and credit card. Nice, isn't it? You can save more by using some of their vouchers(see photo above).

In just a few computer mouse clicks, food will be at your front door.

Earle Swensen's at VivoCity

ABBEY: We have redeemed dining vouchers with our bank card points a couple of times. And now that it has come to an end, we tried to use it on Earle Swensen's. We visited their branch at Vivo City mall.

The reception area is small but once you were ushered to your seat, you will find the dining area has a lot of space and very comfy.

I ordered fish and chips as I was craving for fries. Unfortunately, the fries was cooked "well done". I didn't have the time to ask for replacement since I ate half of it already and the fries somehow tasted good as they are crispy.

Also, the salad bar is open. So we packed our plates with cherry tomatoes, croutons and greens. We also got a rootbeer float. Total bill? 63sgd, but we paid only 3sgd. Thanks for the vouchers. It was a good meal.

WILL: First of all, thank you so much to Citibank Singapore for this $60.00 voucher. We had our ice cream at Swensen's before but what is with Earle Swensen's at VivoCity? Let's find out.

The Earle Swensen's VivoCity branch has a quite cosy feeling than the other Swensen's branches. We sat on a very comfy seat and ordered. Savory Chicken Baked Rice and Rootbeer Float for me and Abbey had Fish and Chips and Tuna Quesadillas for an appetiser  After we stated our wants, the server told us to help ourselves at the salad bar. I am a fan of leafy green vegetables so I really went gaga when I found out that it is a SALAD BUFFET!!!

Let's do the verdict at my food. The chicken baked rice is not so creamy. Sad. Lacked of sauce. I just gave to my husband half of it in exchange of his fries. In my disappointment with my meal, I just fill up my tummy with their salad. The rootbeer is perfect. So smooth!

Next time, we will try your San Francisco style grilled menu.

Dhoom 3 (2013) - Singapore

ABBEY: After watching a couple of Hindi action movies like Dhoom 2 and Da Bang, Dhoom 3 is the best by far.

I was anticipating this in silver screen since I saw its trailer. Not only that Katrina Kaif is part of the cast but I was amazed on the effects specially on the scenes involving the twins (spoiler alert). Compared to local films in Philippines the action scenes are better but still plot is predictable. Also they should minimize the use of slow-mo during explosions, and on impossible feats of the hero/villain. Other stunts defy the law of physics but you just need to laugh them off and continue watching the movie. But I assure you all of those criticisms will be gone when you see Aaliyah dance and smile.

7/10 for the film and 10.5/10 for Katrina. No wonder why she was named sexiest in Asia for the fourth time. Woot! Woot!

WILL: Dhoom machaleeeee! My colleagues got angry whenever I sing the Dhoom Machele Dhoom. I think for a week that was my LSS. Haha! Dhoom 3 is a big hit here in Singapore and thanks to Sir Nitin Parab for the free tickets. We watched the movie at Golden Village VivoCity.

For almost 3 hours I stared at the silver screen because need to read the subtitle as keen as possible.

I cried. Yes! I cried! My heart is really soft on a siblings-stories. The critics says that the movie is not so good or some were just copied to Hollywood films but for me, 8/10. 3 is nicer than Dhoom 2, I assure you!

Claude Bernard's (Singapore) 40th Anniversary @ Shanghai Dolly

ABBEY: We got invited on the 40th birthday celebration of Swiss-made watch Claude Bernard. It was held at Shanghai Dolly in Clarke Quay. The party was retro-themed and the best dressed couple received a pair of timepieces.

We were informed that light refreshment and snacks will be served at the event. A big buffet of pasta, chicken, and macarons flowed the entire time. We won a spa voucher worth 180sgd by naming a tune on one of their games. A live band did a mini concert that rendered rock n roll genre where people danced and sang along. We also had our souvenir snaps from their photo booth.

WILL: Its a fact that when you see in the labels that the product is a "Swiss Made" it is really a quality. Switzerland excels from banking, chocolates and even watches. Then the Claude Bernard the handmade wristwatches came from this country.
Claude Bernard celebrates its 40th anniversary here in Singapore, Abbey and I was one of the privileged ones to attend this celebration at Shanghai Dolly (Clarke Quay).
After registration, Abbey and I pose for some shots and walked our way to the gallery of watches. Well, I am astounded by the beauty of its simple designs. The price ranged from $300 up. I will buy ine of those for Abbey's bday ;)
The party is well rocked up by the 70's music. The people from all ages are happy dancing its feet.
This is a great party. Harjeet indicate in the email that there is a light refreshment to be served but hey, it made my tummy full. The desserts were really good!
Thanks  Claude Bernard for the invites! More more anniversary to come.
