The Future of Us (Singapore) Exhibition 2015

ABBEY: As the name of the exhibit implies, The Future of Us showcases the future plans for Singapore. It was located besides Gardens by the Bay. It shows how an individual sees a problem and makes a solution for it.

Intelligent cars that can drive by themselves, playground for persons with disabilities, future housing designs with vertical gardening are just few examples shown.

The last dome asks every guest to put their wish for the city state. It just shows that nobody will be left behind when the Little Red Dot progress beyond.

WILL: So what's with Singapore after celebrating the big SG50? It is inlaid in this dome.

From here, people saw what will the futuristic Singapore will be look like. What will be the steps to achieve those and how easy the life will be if that will happen. This Future of Us Dome mindsets the residents that those brilliant ideas are the plans of government for the Little Red Dot.

I am so excited to see the future. I am fan of vertical gardening. Woooohoooo!! Majulah Singapura!

OCBC Skyway - Get Up Close To The Supertrees @ Gardens by the Bay

ABBEY: There's always a long queue on the ticket booth of OCBC Skywalk and since we planned going there on Deepavali, we expected a longer one. Fortunately, no queue by the time we arrived. This means we can have the skywalk by ourselves, have lots of snaps and take the time to be amazed by the view at the top.

A ticket costs 5SGD. It will take 5-10 mins to finish the walk but for us we took it very slow. It was refreshing and enjoyable.

WILL: This is one of the sights that we do not want to go to unless we have tourists on board with us. We walked our way out from Marina Bay Sands The Shoppes to Gardens by the Bay. And our aim is the OCBC Skywalk.

For only $5 each. You can see from the top the beauty of flora and fauna of the Multi-awarded garden/park of Singapore. You can have a great spot to take the MBS Hotel as your backdrop on your photos.

I think we stayed there for 30 minutes. Why? We are just staring at the beautifully arranged garden below us and my siblings like the sweet smell of wind hitting our skin.

Please take note: Be there before 5pm or else you will not enjoy the sights because too many people already walking around.

Peach Garden Noodle House at Gardens by the Bay

ABBEY: Dining in Peach Garden is part of the Armas' itirenary for their second Singapore trip. It is located in the heart of Garden by the Bay. Just locate the tallest artificial tree on it and you can see The Chinese-cuisine restaurant on its "roots".

We went there as a group of 8 including the "neophytes", Eugiene and Kaye. We availed their Claypot Rice Delights  promotion.

I got Stewed Beef Brisket with hot rice. The sauce is thick and flavorful. The meat is tender and it has some fats that I really like. They also offer chicken curry and pork.

WILL: Gardens By The Bay is now one of the landmark of Singapore. So this is one of the a-must-visit place for the tourists and we have Ate Rizbeth and her family to tour the in this wonderful place.

But before roaming around, we decided to dine first and as scheduled we went to Peach Garden Noodle House located just beside the Supertree Grove.

We were immediately served by the crew and the food was in front of us after a couple of minutes.Their table reminds me of my family's turn table. A setting that encouraged a circle of people that can talk fluently without blocking anyone's sight. Piping hot! After saying thanks and getting some photos we dig in.

I ordered Soft Pork Bone with Salted Fish in Claypot for only $13.80++ which includes a drink and rice. The sauce is so Chinese style. The pork is tender. A very recommendable place to dine while you indulge at the beauty of nature.

Our visitors' enjoyed this restaurant as much as we did.

Satay by the Bay

ABBEY: After being an "eco-adventurer" at Gardens by the Bay, we felt hunger. Satay by the Bay is the nearest place to go. Food stalls offers Chinese, Indian, Western, Malay and Indonesian cuisines. It also has a bar for after dinner hangout.

We ordered chicken and mutton satay for less than 15sgd that came with rice cake and peanut sauce. We also got cereal prawn and crispy baby squids for 25sgd. As always, I picked up food from chinese-mixed-rice stall (3sgd for a cup of rice and 2 meat viands).

The view and ambiance of the place is relaxing. A pond and bridge welcomes a customer for dining.

WILL: You do not want to eat your satay together with buzzing machines of vehicles, well then Satay by the Bay is the right place for you. This hawker is located at the heart of Gardens by the Bay.
This is great for tourist who wants to taste different cuisines that Singapore offers.
Not more than $5 you can have a feast of Satay here with astonishing view of Marina Bay Sands and breeze of sea air. This is a great place to ask a woman if you're in a tight budget ;)

Cloud Forest - Gardens by the Bay

ABBEY: This dome was still under construction when Singapore hosted the Orchid Convention. This is one of the glass domes in Gardens by the Bay. It showcases plants that lives in higher altitudes. At the entrance, we were welcomed by drizzles from a 6-storey man-made waterfall.

Next level are the crystals. The exhibition of stalactites and stalagmites is amazing. As we go on to the upper levels species of plants became more of the "shrubby" type. That's how the plants grow on different altitudes. We cane to see large pitcher plants and colorful orchids.

The dome also have skywalk and platform to have a good snap of the waterfalls. For 18sgd you can visit Cloud forest and flower domes with a free show of OCBC Rhapsody.

WILL: Got the free chance to explore the Flower Dome last 2011 before the grand opening of Gardens by the Bay, I am so excited to check out the Cloud Forest but its not done yet.
Ate Abigail and Kuya Victory went here in Singapore, Abbey and I decided to buy ticket of this World's Building of the Year at Groupon. We bought three, myself was not included, I am assuming that I'll be going back from office quite late then, but 6pm, I am on feet to check them out.
In this dome lies a gigantic manmade waterfall. Mist and cool air will greet you. Well, this really gives the right feeling once people climbed up a fog forest. Flora here is very different. Moss is all over. There's also a zone that showcases the crystals formed in thousands years.
A nice experience to hold on to. :) Thanks Sis Gail and Bro Victory for sharing this great time to explore this dome

Gardens by the Bay

ABBEY: We have much anticipation for the opening of this garden. Above in the Marina Bay Sands Skypark we saw the beautiful landscapes and dome structures. One of them, the Flower Dome,  opened in line with the World Orchid Conference. Free shuttle rides were offered or you can use the foot bridge to get there.

You can enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature with their open boardwalk beside a swamp, and international gardens like Malayan and Chinese. Bonus feature is you can take a snap on the other side of MBS. It's still a work in progress and I knew that will be better once it is fully opened.

WILL: This is a great way to celebrate Abbey's bday. We surrounded ourselves with flora.
We eyed to go in here once the NatGeo featured some of this on their Marina Barrage show and the WOC gave us this great opportunity to preview one of the dome.
We roamed around the vast space of the unfinished garden but even it is not 100% ready, we awed to the magnificent views and architecture of it.
From Marina Bay Sands, there is bridge that will connect the people to this wonderful space or maybe in future time, there will be a bus to be assigned here.
We can't wait for the grand opening of this garden.
