Miam Miam Singapore (Waterway Point)

ABBEY: We got a chance to spend sometime with Ate Che, a returning OFW and co-founder of Buttons Up Mushroom, before going back to Philippines for good. We met at Miam-Mia@Waterway Point.

I got Shogayaki Pork Miam Donburi (SGD 15.90). It is rice with pork fillet topped with tofu, baby radish and cucumber. I think it is pricey for a meduim-sized serving. But the taste is delicious and have lots of flavor.

The restaurant is fusion of French and Japanese. They also have soufflés, spaghetti, parfaits, pancakes, coffee and tea.

WILL: To celebrate the next chapter of Ate Che's (one of the founder of ButtonsUp Mushroom Crisp) life, we met her at Miam Miam - Punggol Waterway Point Mall.

That was Saturday and of course, the diner was all-packed. I ordered Riz Noir Squid Ink Rice. Wow! That was new for me. It is tasty and the squid meat was cooked to its perfection. Too delighted, I don't care about the black ink on my lips and on my teeth. I keep on eating and talking. Haha!

That good food made even better because of the time spent with a friend. Goodluck to your endeavors Ate Che!

PAUL Singapore (Maison de Qualité) - French Restaurant at Westgate

ABBEY: I was in the connotation that French cuisine is only pleasing to the eye and fancy but you won't get full as the serving is small :) It changed when we visited Paul Restaurant at Westgate Mall. The ambiance is very different. It was elegant. Noise volume is minimal. It is as if all the diners were refine.

As I opened the menu, the items were, for me, a bit expensive. So what to do then? Use their promotion or offer. On that day, a meal consists of main course, soup of the day, and drink only costs $18.90++ with usual price of 40+sgd. I ordered their beef stew; choiced chops of beef with generous serving of bread. And when they put "generous" on the menu, they mean it. I got four slices of bread to match my stew. The stew is creamy and delicious. The beef comes with small amounts of fat which I liked. This made me missed our Pinoy's Nilagang baka or bulalo.

Soup of the day is carrot soup and my drink is mint iced tea. The tea tasted like the bubble gum I enjoyed when I was kid.

WILL: We do not have our own camera. Yes! You read it right. Most of the photos here in our blog was taken using the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4S. When there is a special events or we have visitors, we always asked either Nitin or Chat to lend us their Nikon. In returning a favour, Abbey and I chose Paul at Westgate to treat our dear friend Chat. We availed their promo (ends on 30th October).

Straight from office, I went here and so awed with the restaurant. It has a calming atmosphere. Immediately after sitting down, we ordered our food. I went for Sauté de Poulet Aux Champignons and mint iced tea. The promotion includes their soup of the day which is carrot soup. The taste is amazing and really stimulates my appetite and looking forward to our main dish. While waiting I sip some of my cold tea. It taste like a bubble gum and asked Abbey if I can swap with  his iced lemon tea, and he confirmed.

One by one our food came and sat in front of us. Every spoonful give us a piece of tranquillity. Haha! My chicken with mushroom is so creamy. The bread really compliments the cream with it.

This is a really recommendable place. A nice and very romantic restaurant to bring your date.

JBM Coffee & Dining (Modern European Restaurant) - One Raffles Place Mall

ABBEY: Just like in life, in the corporate world, people come and go. One of my colleague and friend is migrating to NZ and we decided to meet at JBM Coffee and Dining (One Raffles Place).

They are offering one-for-one deal for their pastas, wine, and chicken. We ordered Golden Hen; half-spring chicken, cooked in garlic, potatoes and butter. It's a big serving but I managed to finish it all by myself. The meat is soft and tasty. The garlic juice blends with thin butter sauce which made it more flavourful. It costs 23SGD but was made half because of the promo.

WILL: Looking for a French Cuisine that will not break your bank? Head over to JBM Coffee and Dining at One Raffles Place Mall.

We were there to celebrate one of the main event in our friend’s life. For a dinner, we reserved a table via pm on their facebook page. Yeah! You read it right, they accepting reservations from their page. A mini get-together of Oracle Data Administrators. So cool!

We ordered their promotion of 1-for-1 Golden Hen (U.P. $23). It’s true! It’s a Golden Hen but she was already cooked so she won’t lay golden eggs, haha!, but she is there to fuel-up our empty stomach. The buttery flavour aroma made my stomach to grumble even further, but we need to wait for one more colleague for us to start.

So when she came, I picked urgently my fork and savour on my half chicken. The taste is so yummy. Every inch of it is so tender. But the sad truth is you need to consume it as fast as you can before the butter freeze in front of you.

This is a night of reminiscing, merriment and goodbyes. Till next time Aiz. See you in New Zealand.

Poulét at Raffles City (First French Casual Dining Restaurant Chain Concept in Singapore)

ABBEY: Our blog's third anniversary came and just in time for that Poulet at Raffles City opened a couple of weeks before. So after my morning shift we went to the restaurant and found a long queue. Almost giving up the plan to dine in, the staff approached us and told us that a table for two was available. Nice :)

It's a French cuisine restaurant and I got Iberico pork belly and fries. The food has a good plating and a thousand flavors bursted in my mouth on each bite. It was delicious.

The fries was served in a small bucket with dip on the side. Main entree starts at less than 15 sgd. It was great celebration indeed.

WILL: Maybe Abbey was thinking back then that if he will date me on a Frenh restaurant, he'll be as romantic as french people are. Well, he do not need to that because for me he is the most romantic man I ever dated.

I planned for a pizza night to celebrate the We'll Tell You - A&W Couple's Blog 3rd year anniversary, but he told me that he had a plan too. I pushed my idea but he won, I gave way for his plan. I am surprised to see a newly built restaurant at Raffles City. Its a classy and I am pretty annoyed that we will be spending a lot for a one dinner. I started to murmured about the price but Abbey shused me.

We were seated beside the window and on my delight, they have just two page menu, ha! They will not give their diners a hard time to choose from their list. I am not a keen eater of chicken but I still asked for their frontliner dish.. The Poulét Rôtti, (Roast Chicken) merged with their Mushroom Chardonnay Sauce. The taste is superb! Abbey spoonfed me their Iberico Pork Belly, oh darl, the taste is really unforgettable!

Overall, it is really a nice experience for both of us. Now I know why many people love to eat French Cuisine.

Thanks Baby for this treat!
