dr. Café Coffee Singapore at The Star Vista - $2 Frappe Deal

ABBEY: After a sumptuous snack at Boston Seafood Shack, we went to Dr. Cafe on their branch at Star Vista Mall to get their 2SGD frappe. 

I got the mocha frappe. I really can't distinguished the difference with other cafe but kudos for their offer of lower price. We had our frappes as we catch up with our friends.

WILL: dr. Café is making a big noise by having a series of promotions. The first deal is their 50% off on their hot coffees, cakes and sandwiches, Now they treat all their “facebook likers” a $2 frappe. Gosh! Abbey and I are so blessed that we got an this for free!!! Thanks Chat!

I ordered for caramel frappe. I need a sweet dose of drink that time to wash away the fish and chips taste. Oh, we went at dr. Café Star Vista branch just after our  dine-in at Boston Seafood Shack.The taste, the taste, the taste! So sweet and delicious. Some frappe is just cold and very bland.. waste of money.

Starbucks Singapore Frappuccino Happy Hour (Strawberry Cheesecake or Tiramisu Frappuccino)

ABBEY: Starbucks Singapore held another Frappuccino Happy Hour last June 23-27. Or should I say happy hours as it lasted for four hours (3-7PM). For a price of 9.20SGD we got Strawberry Cheesecake and Tiramisu. 

The Tiramisu tastes good as it is not too sweet and you can bite into crunchy chunks on the drink. 

Hope to have more happy hours to come as well as more flavours to choose from.

WILL: Starbucks, strawberry and cheese frappé revamped its flavor. I do not know if it is because of the "bug" thing but I will always be thankful for this new idea.

All Singapore store gave way to the public for their Happy Hour 1-for-1 promotion. After my office I directly went to Metropolis to meet Abbey in Starbucks' branch there. Queue builds up when while we are waiting for our order. I asked for starwberry cheesecake frappuccino while hubby got his blended Tiramisu.

We take it home and while eating our dinner, we are sipping our delightful drink. My strawberry cheesecake is so delicious that I never asked Abbey to have even a sip. Haha. The crunchy crumbles and beautiful creme on top gave ecstasy on my tastebuds.

Jamba Juice Philippines - Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City Branch

ABBEY: Whether you are only riding on the hype or seriously getting fit by eating healthful foods or just craving for unique taste on your daily routine, Jamba Juice can give you that feel. I can't say how many calories it has for every drink but one thing I'm sure I enjoyed it. 

John and Denise bought me medium-sized Banana berry smoothie (banana, blueberry, apple-strawberry juice, non-fat yogurt, raspberry sherbet, and ice). Sweet and sour burst into my mouth upon taking the first sip. It quenched my thirst after walking at noontime in Bonifacio High Street. That shop also serves frozen yoghurt. While waiting for your order, you can strike a pose on their photobooth and send them on your mail.

WILL: Jamba Juice are available only in South Korea, Philippines and Canada. And we were so delighted that my friends treat us for a sip on their Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City Branch.

I looked up on their menu and some of their classic smoothies… The coldbuster, strawberry surf rider, Caribbean passion, peach pleasure, protein berry workout, aloha pineapple, razzmatazz, banana berry.

The concoction of strawberries, banana, apple-strawberry juice, nonfrozen yogurt caught my attention and it was called, Strawberries Wild. I got a medium-size for Pho165.00. It tasted so good, fresh and creamy.

Their place is so pleasing and relaxing. They also have this fun photobooth at the side of the counter. While waiting we took a lot of shots and send the copy to our emails.

Very nice place to bond. If you’re tired of coffee kicking you with caffeine, try this refreshing and healthy drink. Jamba Juice for the gold!

Costa Coffee Singapore - Metropolis Branch

ABBEY: What gives you a good night sleep after a night's shift? Breakfast! 

Costa Coffee recently open up their branch Metropolis (near Buona Vista MRT). I got their roast beef sandwich and one of their holiday specialty. We went there and had a free sandwich and drink. 

The branch is bigger than what they have in Vivo City. The staff received us warmly and even posed for the pic for our blog :)

WILL: The first branch I and Abbey visited was Costa Coffee's VivoCity branch. Well, this London-orgin cafe is all-over the island competing diligently with American coffee shops.

Abbey and I are the lucky ones who was given a invite for the opening of their 2 branches. We are too near at Metropolis so we decided to take our hot breakfast in there. 

As we are eyeing to go inside, an all-smile staffs were already welcoming us. We asked what are their recommendations for us and they me to get their Hot Choco Mint, I am pretty hesitant since my stomach get really upset everytime I drink choco but I chose to go with the staff's suggestion. I love wrap, the I ordered one.

The hot choco is good, warms my tummy gently and didn't created a war against my stomach. Excellent! The chicken wrap tastes so nice, really nice. 

Thanks Costa Coffee for the wonderful breakfast and for having a branch few steps at our home. Oh, before I forgot, this branch has a comfy feeling, hope the VivoCity will follow the ambiance. They do deliver also, please click here for their menu. 

Tipco 100% Veggie Broccoli & Mixed Fruit Juice

ABBEY: We found these tetra-pack delights when we're having our weekly grocery. One liter costs S$2.60. 

The taste is sweet and thirst-quenching after a hearty meal.

WILL: Vitamin C cannot only be found to sour fruits... broccoli is one of the good source of this vitamin. 

      Tipco offers juice made out of this vegetables and I am so excited to try it. As I poured it in our glass, I can't wait to taste it but once the juice landed on my tastebuds, my happiness backed to zero. 

      The juice is way too sweet, dominated by the sweet tastes of fruits. Abbey and Vincent love it. Abbey will sure be buying it again, but me.. Nah! 

TWG Tea Salon & Boutique

ABBEY: We planned numerous times to dine in this  tea shop at Marina Bay Sands but they never happened until we have spare time to wait for a fashion show. Since it will not start for a couple of hours, we went at TWG and sipped cups of tea. 

I got strawberry-fusion tea. The aroma is good as well as the taste. No burnt and bitter after taste. A tea book was given to us and we read a lot of info about the leaves; from how it started, the trade until to the names of each tea and their uses.

WILL: I am an absolute lover of teas and once I saw the this TWG at Marina Bay Sands I told to myself that someday I wi be having a tea there. 

      Well, we have an extra budget to sip some tea there and yes my 2years wish was finally granted. Once we put our first foot on the steps, their waitress immediately greeted us and ushered to our seats. Oh, their chairs is very soft, it made me really a royalty that night. The man passed us the TWG tea book. Whoah! Shocked! Overwhelmed with information. This company was established here in Singapore and decades past of being port of trade, they saw every finest tea leaves from different countries and with expert knowledge they came of hundreds of concoction that will result in greatness. 

      Oh Darl, my heart is in heaven when they served my teapot. I ordered silver moon. The taste?, nothing ordinary. Very Delicious! 

Kneipp Singapore Cranberry Tea - Cleansing Herbal Tea

ABBEY:  This is one of the many products Wilma won from Kneipp. The tea is fusion of berries and other antioxidants. Just like Clipper's tea this tea is full of aroma. 

The taste is sour and sweet. As I drink, it keeps me relaxed and cheerful throughout the day.

WILL: Thanks to City Wander Walker for letting me to win a the Kneipp grand prize. We went to Guardian Paragon Branch and look for Ms Henrissa, hooray she knew how to speak Filipino. Abbey chose to have this tea.

      This cranberry tea is a drink for cleansing. We chose this, who will not want to be cleansed anyway? This costs $9.60. The taste? Awesome! We really like the taste of this tea. Cranberry really floats with every cup. 

      They have varieties of flavor to choose from that suits your needs. Next time we will definitely buy the pack of good night tea.  

Dôme Cafés Singapore

ABBEY: When we got our vouchers for Dome Cafe we decided to visit their branch at Dempsey Hill. I tried their seared fish fillet; and it comes with fries and green salad. 

I also had mocha. The taste is delicious and texture is very fine. It is served on a fancy mug. Dome Cafe also pasta (starts at less than 15sgd) and sandwiches at less 10sgd.

WILL: First of all, thank you Citibank credit cards for this vouchers. 

      I got a breakfast when Abbey is from night shift, a very yummy sandwich and tea from Dome Cafe. Then when I got the chance to choose for Citibank vouchers, I intentionally chose to have a $20 voucher on this cafe and I want to invade their branch at Dempsey Hill(I am really curious on this place). One stone, two hits. 

      After our remittance in Lucky Plaza, we hit bus 123 after 20mins we are at the Dome Cafe. I really asked Abbey to allow me to drink a coffee. Its been 6months since my last cup of it. Abbey agreed then I savor to their cappuccino($4.60). I enjoy the every sip I had done. Haha. 

      Since it was Saturday, I just ate the free lunch from our office, so I only asked to order one seared fish fillet to share. The fillet fish is so soft and their tartar sauce and mango dip made a difference to others. 

      You may like to visit their Dempsey Hill branch, another way to spend a weekend. 

Clipper Organic Nettle & Peppermint Infusion Tea

ABBEY: This is one of my favorite tea fusions. I have tried their berry and mint infusions. At 7sgd per pack (20 tea bags), its reasonable. By the way that is the price when the tea is on sale :) I forgot the original price. The mint infusion keeps me relax as it leaves a trace of mint in your throat and nasal passages. I told Wilma that its like a mint gum soaked in a warm tea. I like berry as its aroma fills my workspace when I prepare it. I prefer berry with crackers or pastries and mint by drinking it alone.

WILL: Not only Abbey but also Chat is turned to be a tea drinker. She read about the benefits of tea leaves in our body then she decided to go for it. I recommend her to try on the Detox flavored Clipper's tea then when she got at Cold Storage in Vivo, she saw that all Clipper's product was on sale. I grabbed the chance, rode a bus to vivo and bought two packs of Peppermint flavoured tea. 
      The taste? Refreshing! Even I am drinking a hot tea it seems it was iced cool when I breathed in the after taste. This costs $3.95 on sale. 

Boh - Cameron Highlands Tea

ABBEY: Preparing this tea requires great timing :) Why did I say it? Soaking the bag for more than 3 minutes will burn the leaves unlike the other brands. 
       Many times I drank the bitter taste of the tea. Later, I somehow managed to prepare it on time and sip the relaxing concoction during my tea breaks.

WILL: Cameron Highlands of Malaysia is one of my list to go, this is just near to Singapore only a coach away. What makes me want to go there? The tea plantation. Tea enthusiast indeed! But before going there I stumbled their manufactured tea in Cold Storage at VivoCity Mall. Bought it and I really need to taste it. 
      Every land really grows different taste of fruits, ahm and leaves hehe. For a starting tea adventurer, try this Boh Tea, has an extra mild flavor. Really recommendable, this box is only $2.35 

Swiss Miss - Marshmallow

ABBEY: This chocolate drink taste like Nesquik. Like other choco treat, this can be served as hot or cold. To complete the unique of the concoction, tiny marshmallows were added to the mix. This little delights dissolve along as you stir. I like to prepare a hot cup whenever I finished a major task at the office; as a reward :) And i prefer the cold one after a jog to regain energy.

WILL: I am not into sweets, I am not into chocolates, even chocolate drinks...unlike Abbey. As I stated on my previous posts for "last drop", Abbey is on the midst of transforming from coffee to tea drinker, but when I saw that this Swiss Miss chocolate marshmallows on sale, I grabbed it immediately for some treat for my husband. 
      I know this drink since my college days. The creamy and chocolaty taste soothes the drinker in every sip. This is one of my greatest pal when I am on the midst of the late night reading my Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines Vol. 2. Those were the days. These costs 8SGD.

The Mind Cafe (Singapore)

ABBEY: Going to this cafe is long overdue. We planned to go here when Kuya Ric went for a visit but didn't have the time. After dinner at Curry House we stopped by the place. 

9sgd per person includes free-flow of drinks of the day and 2 hours of playing any game available. We got the old-but-good Connect 4. Form 4 chips horizontally, vertically or diagonally and you win the game. I won both games with Chat and Wilma. Next they tried Battleship but haven't finished the game as they had a hard time destroy each other's ships. We wanted to play quick games so we can play as many times as we can. That didn't happen. 

We played Monopoly:Superman Returns edition. Though its a long game we totally had fun specially if you are winning. Isn't that right, Wilma and Chat? 

The cafe also offers cocktail snacks to munch in.  Singapore Book of records awards this as the cafe to have the most number of board game. This is good experience.

WILL: I am searching for a great place to fill in some caffeine craving while my oldest brother was here and then I saw Mind Cafe. It was on my list but the schedule really stopped as to go in here. 

      Chat treated us for a dinner, she got her bonus! Haha! She shared her blessings to us. After dinner, damn I am full and I want to help my stomach to digest it, I need tea. ;) 

I don't want to go to any cafes in 313 Somerset, then my brain made me realized to go to The Mind Cafe. 

    From Orchard, it is only 3 stops for bus #65. After 12 minutes, we were stepping our way up to this cafe. Actually, now I am not after for a hot drink that will help my tummy to digest my food, I am here to enjoy and play all the boardgames I can. 

     As we entered, we were welcomed warmly by their staff and  huge stacks of boardgames. Like a child, I grinned. So many games to play for only 2 hours. I played and all the games I lost. Haha! Lucky we don't bet for anything. Luck is not at my side at that day.

     For two hours, we indulged on their unlimited cold drinks and play-all-you-can boardgames for only $9.00 per pax. This is just beside SOTA, a great location for students to let the stress away. This is a great idea of a unique cafe. 

Dilmah Premium Ceylon Tea

ABBEY: My wife asked me to bring the box of Dilmah tea in the office. I thought I cannot finish drinking all of them but I was surprised when I saw only a few bags left. Wilma asked me to take the remaining tea back at home because she haven't tasted it yet thus she'll not be able to blog it. The taste is good like other teas. The leaves don't get burnt easily. 

WILL: Promise, Even I am tea addict, I do not know Dilmah tea until I saw this in Singapore. Dilmah is one of the famous ceylon tea and now I know why. 
      Every tea bag, this has a distinctive taste and aftertaste. Not too strong an no too mild, Abbey loves it a lot and so do I. A great flavor of hot drink every morning. Available on every Sheng Siong branch. 

Starbucks Singapore's Red Bean + Green Tea Frappuccino

ABBEY: Another one-for-one from Starbucks. They offer this on two of their drinks: 

I haven't ot the chance to taste the mocha one. But for the green tea with red bean, I don't like the taste, Wilma does. She said it taste like "ice buko and halo-halo" (frozen delight in Philippines). Maybe its not for me. A pair of drink costs 8sgd. We'll wait for another treat from SB.

WILL:  I am a faceboook Stabucks Singapore fan. Every news was detailed in at that page. So when they declared a happy hour last June 25 for their latest flavor, screenshot their ad and emailed it to my husband. Indeed, all went crazy and queue up for buy 1 take 1 tasting.
       
The verdict? I love green tea, i love mung beans, so what will you expect, my verdict to this frap?, I love love it! The strong green tea and lovable mung beans were mixed up together and give a new a reason to go to Starbucks. Actually it reminds me of a Philippine's halo-halo. Yummy!
