ABBEY: I’ve been eyeing to go to The Armoury. It got delayed with the dining restrictions or full capacity. Lo and behold we got our spot and ready ourselves to the buffet feast.  I started with rib eye but somehow I got the part where all the tendons are. It got chewy instead of a tender meat. The strip loin and pork ribs are better. What I enjoyed the most is the grilled shabu beef. It is served in “mountains” and I had them twice. It is sweet and caramelized. We also had fried chicken which is crispy and spam fries (beware of the saltiness).  The chicken stay and peanut sauce is ok as well.  They have other items like baked beans, edamame, green salad, corn but hey I went there for the meat galore. Make sure you order before your last plate is empty else you have a food gap. Hahaha.   WILL:  Abbey is craving for MEAT! ABBEY: I’m excited to watch the Eternals since I saw it’s trailer. New batch of heroes and characters. A group of ten is overwhelmingly specially in the first minutes of the movie; you need to catch up who is who. The story is somewhat a so-so and some of the acting is not that great.  Good thing we watched in Golden Village GVMax Dolby with Atmos. It somehow saved the movie with the superb sound and screen. The whispers and the intense actions can be heard crisply. But I bet it would have been better if the movie complemented the tech as well. Haha.  Let’s see in the future if Eternals will redeem themselves. ABBEY: The wait is over as the Spiderman : No Way Home was shown in the big screen. For us it is literally a big screen as we watched it in iMax with laser.  I can say that it’s worth it. It’s as if you’re in the room with the characters. Top it up with great sound and you can really feel the action. The picture is crystal clear and sharp. Now into the movie, Marvel did an awesome storytelling . The loose ends are tied up (paying homage to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) and other branches are getting lined up (Yes, I guess the X-Men are coming).  It’s the edge-of-your-seat kind of thing; funny, heartbreaking, tearjerking, as well as promising. ABBEY: I want pork barbecue. And with the BBQ pits closed, the craving intensified. Good thing we found Lutong Ina. We got pork barbecue in skewers, isaw (pork intestines), grilled hotdog and Pansit Malabon (palabok but from Malabon?) :) For a total of SGD, craving satisfied. I indulged in the Pinoy version of BBQ even the vinegar dip. Parang bumili ka sa kanto. I thought the isaw is of chicken but it is not. I’ll just say I’m not a fan of pork intestine. The pansit is savory; just make sure to mix it well and drizzle it with calamansi. ABBEY: At last Reflections at Bukit Chandu reopens after a three-year upgrade. If you’re into hike this is a good one. Bukit Chandu or Opium Hill was once a plant that packed and distributed opium. But this hill tells a rich story of heroism during Japanese invasion of Singapore.  The heroes? Malay Regiment who fought valiantly led by Lt. Adnan. It showcases how the regiment was formed and how little time the soldiers have for training when the war called them to service. They were against fearsome invaders backed up with more weapons (both air and land) but the Malay soldiers was not deterred and kept on fighting. And the rest is history.  The patriotism they showed is truly admirable. ABBEY: Skin is the largest organ of our body. And we need to take care of that, specially our face. Make our body beautiful inside and out. We bought Bioskin package for 3 sessions each. It includes facial as well as massage. I’m new to the non-extraction procedure. This means no pricking but somehow you will feel your face clean.  Lots of cleaning, lotion and cream. But I really liked bojin facial treatment. It is the massage for your face. Just like with other type of body massages, it will loosen up your muscles to make blood circulation better. ABBEY: We were supposed to try Bacha Coffee (in Ion Orchard) Christmas 2020 but oh boy the queue is so long. The next time we went, we got time to spare so queue it is. The shop is Morrocan-inspired and you can see that in the all around like in coffee kettles, spoon, fork, knife, cup and saucers and decors. Felt like a royal sipping their hot drinks. The coffee by itself has great flavor. Put a dollop or two of the vanilla bean cream and it will elevate to a new level. Add raw sugar or ground vanilla and you’ll be surprised. We also had their croissants. They are flaky outside and puffed inside. ABBEY:  WILL:  COVID-19 really alters everyone’s life. The three hour flight from Singapore to Manila became a “NO WAY”. We are missing our loved ones of course but for safety of all we intended to stay here in Singapore.  Aside from people, of course you will miss food that you are fond of eating since your childhood and one of those is TAHO.   ABBEY: WILL:  Finally! The budget fits for us to stay to one of the most luxurious, oldest and one of the icons of Singapore…The Raffles Hotel! Is it really expensive to stay there? Hmmm. Yes! Haha! As Ms Sarah informed us, only Filipino businessmen or Presidents can afford the stay. Seldom a commoner like us. What can I say? I love to shoot for the stars. Haha!  So what happened why we managed and mustered our finances to have another luxurious staycation this year? Well, first of all the 40x40 goal was reached 2 years earlier than we planned, Abbey passed the ITIL Certification and I graduated the DOST’s Project SPARTA Analyst Pathway. ABBEY: VERDICT WILL:  Pork Knuckles or Crispy Pata is quite expensive here in Singapore that is why we only ate a meal like that once for pur whole decade of stay here. Hehe.   Last year when pandemic hit the Earth, all the very kept secrets in cooking delicious dishes came aflot not only in websites but also in YouTube. And yep! We took advantage on thay. So here you go. After tries, Abbey finally perfected his Crispy Pata. What’s the taste? Omg! Juicy! Unlike the pork knuckles you’ll found in bars or expensive restaurant. Of course the soy sauce with lot of onion complement the juicy, crispy skin and tender meat of the pork! Drooollll! The best part? We only spend $13 for the pork meat! Can serve up to 4pax.

ABBEY: Ingredients:  - 1 pork belly (2-3kg)  - 2 bulbs of garlic  - 2 tbsp salt  - 2 tbsp ground black pepper  - 3 stalks lemon grass  - 3 stalks green onion  - oil and soy sauce VERDICT WILL:  After Abbey’s crispy pata it is time for lechon belly roll. This is one try only and Abbey already done perfectly!  Slab of pork belly costs us $30 and $5 for the ingredients inside. The taste is priceless! Darn good! Of course Abbey make it sure that the skin is crispy and the spices flavour was locked into it meat. Do not forget to partner it with a steaming hot rice!  Yummmmy! Because the slab is quite huge, we finished the meat around three days.

ABBEY: Suzuki Cafe became the talk of the town almost overnight. The beans are already being sold long before the cafe opened. But the strategy is brilliant: they open their coffee shop on the same venue as their warehouse at Chin Bee Ave (nearest MRT is Boon Lay).  No facility yet for booking that you need to go there and register your mobile number and they will send a message once the seat is ready. We had a 15-minute wait time during our visit.  I had a cappuccino with a not-so-usual latte art as like with the other cafes. The coffee is smooth and not too bitter. Each drink came with a biscuit. The staff are also helpful enough to advise on which beans I need to purchase for my cold brew and moka pot.  I’ll be trying the ones from Kenya and Papua New Guinea but a bit pricey. ABBEY: Once again the craving for a meat bbq is on me. We were supposed to have it on our place but due to pandemic the bbq pits were closed. After a few visits to ITE (Ang Mo Kio) we saw a poster of Teng Sheng Korean BBQ and the price is at 20SGD per person on a dinner. It’s a go.  We were the only guests when we arrived up until a few minutes before we finish. We were told to place our orders since that is an ala carte buffet and get our drinks. By the time we got back to our table our stove is hot and a plate with mountain of meats is waiting for us.  We had pork belly, beef, sausages, lettuce and kimchi. I indulged in pork belly fats. Wow! The staff is already asking for next batch of orders when they saw our plate is already empty. We only went as far as second round. It was “full”-filling. ABBEY: Dinner at Keyaki is our last hurrah for our 10th wedding anniversary. It is one of the top Japanese restaurants in Singapore and we booked for their 6-course dinner.  The ambiance of the place is like on the movies set in Japan and the music is low almost quiet and then you will just wait for the samurais to come in for action to begin :)  All the items are carefully crafted and the presentation is superb. You’ll get excited when the next item will arrive and how will it arrive. I really like the teapot soup, wagyu beef shank and the sashimi (good wasabi). A great way to wrap up our milestone.  WILL:  10th year celebration isn’t over! We are thankful for Citibank’s 1-for-1 deal and we got the chance to tick off Keyaki out of our must to eat list. ABBEY: Wilma and I are both novice in bowling world. After we booked our session at K Bowling Club we watched videos how to play, the scores and etiquette of the game. At the bowling alley we were greeted with neon light and lively music. After changing our shoes we were on for our first game.  We laughed at ourselves we had our share of gutter between the frames. I had two consecutive strikes on the last frame though.  We had five games for almost 85SGD. It’s fun and definitely will have more bowling games. WILL:  Abbey have wishlist and to bowl is one of them. We went to K Bowling Club located at 313Somerset. So what we have done? We played! And Abbey defeated me.  It is a neon/blue light area. ABBEY: I asked Wilma if we can have mani and pedi for our anniversary. Wish granted. We went to Pixie Nail and have our nails done. We’re seated in a lazy boy-like chair and you will only leave that after the session is ended. The chair has a massage function so you can give your back a treat while they are busy with your fingers and toes.  I’m satisfied with service. My nails are shiny after the cleaning and buffing. I just don’t like how the staff are being pushy for you to get the packages or telling you this service but for another charge.  What I do not want is not telling me how much the whole service will cost and the add-ons before we go into oblivion of relaxation. By the way all the services including manicure, pedicure, leg spa, nail color (for my wife) cost 370SGD. ABBEY:  CARTIER LOVE RING - OUR STORY  WILL:  I am literally drooling whenever I am seeing someone wearing a Cartier LOVE ring. A pair of LOVE ring sums up the preliminary budget of our enitire wedding 10years ago. Haha! It is a star for me that time. ABBEY: K-Pop culture invaded the music scene and television as well. Now the crowd wants to look like their idols and some of the saloons are dedicated for giving that Korean hairstyle. ABBEY: I’ve had boots during my school days and they left a mark; literally and figuratively. I had my share of blisters and scratches when I wore them.
