Sengkang Riverside Park

ABBEY: This is the park I wanted to visit when I was in Fernvale. Having an itch to walk and stroll, we decided to go there. We alighted the North-East line at Sengkang and rode the LRT until Farmway station. The place is good and relaxing. People come here to jog and bike. It has a man-made island in the middle of the river.

At last I have gone and saw what's inside that "purple" fruit :)

WILL:  Sengkang doesn't offer just a sports complex but also a park that varies a lot to others.
Sengkang has its own wetlands that homed many species of birds and fishes. This is very nice to jog on. As usual, NPB planted a lot of trees that helps a lot of joggers to screen out the hurtful rays of the sun.
We will never be tired to visit all the parks here in Singapore! Cheers to NPB! We really appreciate all this parks. ;)

Singapore's Holiday Trees 2011

ABBEY:  It's nice to see different Christmas trees scattered in streets and malls of Singapore. They remind me that holiday season began and Christmas is just around the corner. Every year the trees are designed with elegance and artistry. People flock to taka a snap of those trees. Seeing them smile and admiring these giants is uplifting and inspiring.

Koi Cafe

ABBEY: Wilma anticipates the opening of their branch at CompassPoint. When it opened we queue to order a couple of bubble tea.

This is the first time I saw that an iPad is used to get the orders just like the screen at the cash register. (maybe remote app) That amazed me :) This gives the efficiency of the staff to get and processed the orders. Which in turn giving the customers minimal waiting time.

We got Ovaltine and caramel macchiato for 7sgd. They also offer sugar level options. Now I have an alternative for my Golden Ovaltine.

WILL: Koi Cafe is having a great buzz around Sengkang and that was  thing that gave us a huge urge to try this one.
As usual long queue is there but fret not, they have a great service that they can make your waiting time to be shorter than expected. Very high-tech! they use iPad to take our orders and we will just pay at the counter and get our queue number.
That taste? not bad but not so good as the Gong Cha. Try it, anyways we have different level of taste and satisfaction.

Ingredients:
Kangkong

Cut kangkong into 3-inch sizes separating the stem from the leaves.
Minced 5-6 cloves of garlic.
Saute the garlic and once they became brown, put soy sauce and vinegar(proportion depends on you). Add the stem first and then the leaves. Simmer for a couple of minutes and season to taste. Remove from the pan and serve with hot rice.

VERDICT:
WILL: For almost a month, we vowed that we will cook here in our house will be all veggies. Not that we are pledging to be vegetarian but this is a great step for a healthier "us".
This Abbey's creation is a great start! I love greenery leafy vegetables and "adobo" also, so Abbey cooked this one. Very tasty. This viand only costs us not more than $3. :D
      Try this friends!

The Muppets

ABBEY: Honestly I only knew two muppet characters; Ms. Piggy and Kermit. The rest of the gang, I just knew them by face. I'm surprise that Ms. Piggy and Kermit had a past ;) I was not able to see their first film.

The movie was fun. The characters throw lines with the appropriate timing. It's in this movie that I saw a puppet's facial reaction making the emotions more real. The dance and song numbers are great as well. It's a movie for the people who grew along with the Muppets.

WILL: Well, well, well.. thanks again Nuffnang Singapore for the opportunity to see this movie on a special screening!
It is so true that many children now that do not know who the muppets are. This movie is a positive vibes setter, a feel-good movie. Very simple yet lessons will be learned upon. Thanks Disney for this show! Worthy to spend time.

Holland & Barrett Vitamins

ABBEY:  At last we found an alternative shop to buy our supplements. We always buy at their branch at VivoCity Mall as it is convenient for us.

The sales associates can clearly discuss to us the effects of the vitamins and sometimes make suggestion on which supplements to try. We got Vitamin C, Flaxseed oil, multivitamins etc.

In here also we buy the supplements for our parents. So far we experience no side effects from them.

WILL: We are always seeing Holland & Barrett almost everywhere here in Singapore. We bought out very first bottles at VivoCity branch. This is an alternative to our GNC vitamins.

Holland & Barrett is a lot cheaper than other brands and a trusted company all over the world.  We do hope that this pills can help our body to energize, be productive and overpower the bacteria that may costs sickness.

Guardian Exfoliating Bath Scrub

ABBEY: I like using this body scrub during my weekends. It has a very good smell and you will feel relaxed and refreshed after bathing. It leaves the skin exfoliated also. We got this product at a discounted price. Its good to pamper yourself after a week's work.

WILL: We got these on sale for $2 each. Since we do not usually go to spa for some scrubs, we bought this and decided to do it on ourselves.
It really exfoliates our skin, we feel the smooth and silky skin after wash. Try this lovable product. ;)

Marks & Spencer's Lemon, Ginger and Ginseng Tea

ABBEY:  This tea reminds me of the drink we had in a spa in Bintan and Bukit Gombak. Only this one is not sweet. As you intake the tea it will leave a menthol-like sensation in your throat. It has no string unlike the ordinary tea. You just have to put in a cup with hot water. The leaves will not be burned resulting to bitter taste.

WILL: Lovely! Refreshing! Satisfying! If you have a cold r flu, this tea will definitely help you for some de-clogging job :)
This costs not more than $5. Try it!

Sakae Sushi - Teatime Buffet

ABBEY: My wife craved for sushi. I told her we can buy it from the grocery. She said wasabe is very limited in the sushi pack. We went to Sakae Sushi for sushi buffet.

Actually we already tried this Japanese restaurant for rice bowls but this is the first time for the buffet. I can't write the name of those good food creations as I don't know their name but I enjoyed eating. For 20sgd per person you can indulge in as much as you want sushi. The buffet includes 1 red and 1 pink plate, a soup and a dessert.

WILL: Days were went by, but my cravings for sushi is not yet satisfied. Then after SITEX, we went to Tampines to eat what I am drooling for days... SUSHI!
Sakae Sushi offers unlimited sushi! Eat all you can! We stayed for I think two hours. Haha! Sarap tlga. Thanks Baby! Love this! ;)

Aerins Cafe Espresso Bar - High Tea

ABBEY: It was a week after my birthday and my colleagues kidded me to treat them out. My wife told me that we can have snack at a shop in Raffles Link.

Aerins caters steak, pasta, rice meals and drinks. Meal prices ranges from 9sgd to 20+sgd. I tried their fish and chips. I was surprise that the serving is huge; 3 big pieces of crispy deep-fried fish fillet with fries and tartar sauce. The taste is good and mouth-watering. The fountain at the center gives refreshing feeling to the customers.

WILL: Their High-Tea costs not more than $10 each set. The taste of this cake was awesome, that was the hazelnut & ricotta cake. A great choice for a quality tea time with his colleagues.
Abbey ordered fish and chips. The fish is so huge, it goes well with their tartar sauce, but I favored to dip it in on their very nice wasabi like mustard.
      Nice place. Worthy!

Jack's Place

ABBEY: Our bank gave us vouchers to this dinner. Upon receiving it we headed to its branch at Compasspoint at Sengkang. It's a cozy place; lowly-lit with candle lights gave the place a romantic ambiance. I tried their steak and it tastes good. Prices for main dish starts at 13sgd. We ended the meal with a scoop of ice cream.

WILL: We acquire the points from Abbey's bank then we hurriedly took our dinner at Jack's Place.
Abbey ordered the Mixed Grill Combo for and for me I had this Baked Fish Fillet in Cream Sauce. We add up not more than $5 to avail the deluxe up-grade. After they served the food, it seems that we are still dating. Why, the romantic ambiance is so nice that it will set-up your mood. Quality time indeed!
The food tastes a lot better than other we visited. You know that they do not compromise the ingredients on their food. Sarap talaga!
Soup and garlic bread as starters and end up our appetite with brownies and vanilla ice cream. I am sooooo full! Oh, by the way, Abbey's brownies just tastes like what the served to us. :D

Dragon Fruit

ABBEY:  This fruit looks weird but just like its name, for me its has "mystic" powers :). The fruit is a good source of fiber and antioxidants that help to fight the big C. Numerous testimonies about the effects of the fruit on people's lives were heard. We buy this fruit at our local grocery at the price of . I was hesitant to taste it, but after the first bite I liked it. It tastes sweet and come on two colors; white and pink.

WILL: Way back in Philippines I heard of may benefits in eating this fruit. Actually there are two kinds of these, one is the white flesh one as shown above, the other one is the pink colored flesh. They have the same taste but the pink one is more expensive.
Here it only costs us 2.50SGD for three. And in that case, this anti-oxidant filled fruit is a lot cheaper than in Manila. Taste this, you will surely love this!

Already Famous

ABBEY: We won tickets for gala premiere of this local film. It was held at The Cathay - Dhoby Ghaut. The story is good. I like the punch lines of the cast. They got great timing; they knew when to let out those witty lines sending their audience to burst into laughter. Lesson is to reach for your ambition. Never lose hope.

WILL: Ticket was sponsored by our favorite milk tea Gong Cha. Well, thank you for that! ;)
Story is about a Malaysian girl who never gave up to reach her dream. This is a feel-good movie. A blockbuster indeed here in Singapore.

Crane Dance

ABBEY: We knew about this light-machine-water performance but we didn't get a chance to see it until last week. Show starts at 9pm at the bay part of Resorts World Sentosa. It's a story of two cranes that fell in love with each other. Just like the real ones they move gracefully. Their bodies were made of metal and their wings are of water. Yes, it is for free; a quality entertainment that every spectator will enjoy.

WILL: Well, I knew this attraction quite some time but we do not have time to see this. The show starts at 9:30pm and be sure to be earlier for 10-15 minutes to get a good seat or else you will be standing in the last row which happened to us. Sad!
The show lasts not more than 15 minutes. This is spectacular! Machine, lights, water and the good story combined in one. Do not worry this is for free.
This is a must-see when you go to Sentosa Island. :D
