CARTIER SINGAPORE SURPRISED US WITH FREE GIFTS | BUYING OUR FIRST CARTIER LOVE JEWELRY

ABBEY:
CARTIER LOVE RING - OUR STORY

WILL: I am literally drooling whenever I am seeing someone wearing a Cartier LOVE ring. A pair of LOVE ring sums up the preliminary budget of our enitire wedding 10years ago. Haha! It is a star for me that time. Lovely to see but impossible to reach!

We have talks of renewing our vows and I am firm that Cartier’s LOVE ring is perfect for the occasion (no negotiations) haha!
Since it is holiday season, Abbey wants to treat me with an earring. Unlike Abbey, I am new in purchasing a jewelry. Yes husband is more keen on this. Haha! Sent an email and received a confirmation but no one calls. I thought it is all okay but I am wrong.

The earring is not available not only in Cartier’s ION Orchard Branch but in Singapore itself. Whew! I am furious. Really! Anyways, we still purchased “the star” of that day which is the LOVE ring and Endrea advised us that we can get the free engraving when we are really sure on the size of the ring. Ahmmm, yep you can return the ring if the size doesn’t fit(terms and conditions applies).

We returned to the store after few weeks for the engraving and we were greeted by their manager(I think) with a smile and explains to us how thankful they are for lur feedback. She gave us two boxes of Cartier scented candles and of course we gladly accepted it. Haha!
Whenever we are at Cartier’s we always instantly felt that we are welcome and ready to serve you! Kudos to Endrea for doing a magnificent job in comforting in my time of anger. That is indeed an ultimate Customer Care she shown to me and my husband!
Will definitely come back to Cartier!

Tiffany & Co. Singapore ION Orchard Store Experience

ABBEY: I always wanted to give Wilma a ring from Tiffany & Co. Presenting your gift in that iconic tiffany blue box is worth it. But since she already got her second engagement ring, I bought her a pair of ear”ring”.

The ordering process is seamless and online. Their staff Michell really attended me well. She threw suggestions along the way and I made our purchase. She even arranged a personalized note and have the item delivered to our preferred store at Ion Orchard. The online service is superb and all went well.

Then came the collection day. We went to the shop and we told we were for item collection. The staff checked and a few seconds later our order is in front of us.

We prefer to collect at the store rather than delivery as we wanted the Tiffany experience. After it was given to us we feel it’s as if they wanted us to get out of the store as soon as we can. We were never given the courtesy to verify the item. It was even us who asked if we could check it on the couch. The pieces of jewelry is good and as what we’ve seen in the site. It is beautiful. But the shop in Ion Orchard (1st level)? No.

Tiffany & Co. Singapore ION Orchard Store Experience  (The White Box)

Tiffany & Co. Singapore ION Orchard Store Experience

WILL: Abbey asked me and I received.
Haha! I told him that I want earrings as a gift and yet he went extra mile giving me a Tiffany & Co jewelry.

We reached Tiffany & Co ION branch and we were greeted by a man. Abbey ordered it online so it was well packed. The white box was immediately put in their iconic tiffany blue bag. Now my question is, “Is this really the Tiffany and Co?”. You may asked why? I didn’t feel any warm welcome from the store and as I said the white box was just handed to us. How do we know if the jewelry is there or if the item is correct? So I asked permission if I can sit at one of their chairs. While opening the box (it is really hard to open) the same man just handed us a bottled water. Not even asking if we need any help. (Nike customer care is better than him. OMG!) At that time there are only 3 clients including us so I am not sure why he care less on us. We went off and I am not sure if someone bid a goodbye to us. Tiffany and Co absolutely tarnished my expectations on them.

Anyways, I am surprised how Abbey pulled off his surprise message. Thank you so much baby! Of course I will marry you again and again!

Will I come back? I don’t know? Abbey is the one buying pieces of jewelry  for me. Haha. But he saw my frustrations and he can compare the kindliness and care of local jewelry company than Tiffany & Co.

2 Day Water Fast and Why We Stopped It Immediately

ABBEY:

WILL: We always do a 24-hour fast. This round I initiated the 2-day fasting to Abbey.

Fasting is not only good for your body for you to lose weight, balance the sugar and salt and to restart your system but fasting is spiritually good too! In the Bible, every person who has a great request or want to know a divine answer to their queries did fasting with distinctive prayer.

Since my system is used to a 24-hour fasting, I didn’t feel any dizziness nor weakening of my body when I up out of bed at 9am. I even asked Abbey if we can hit the gym  on 12noon of 21st September.

3pm my body shut down to a snooze and I woke up soaked on my sweat. That was 6pm. My body is shaking and for the third time in my fasting experience I felt a numbing and tingling sensation on my whole body. And of course, I know what’s next! My body will secrete a green fluid by vomit.

Last time I had this two incidents and few minutes away in completing the fast, after puking I will feel relieved and in-tuned again. But this time, after secreting the bitter taste green liquid and a very cold sweat, pass half an hour my hands starts to shake, my heart beats frantically and my stomach churning to spew up again!

I looked to Abbey and asked if I can stop. I am afraid that if I continued the fasting, a serious problem will arise. Abbey agreed for us to stop at our 32nd hour.

At this moment, I failed in this fasting. I felt sad. My prayer now is for THE ALMIGHTY to forgive me in not completing my fast.

I am sure to try again sometime. I will sure do it again victoriously!

World Cleanup Day - 15 September 2018

ABBEY: We invested our time to volunteer in World Clean Up Day. The venue is at Pasir Ris. The task is to pick up the trash at the beach and park.

But before that, the organizers gave us a talk about why are we doing it and divided us in groups.

We also did some stretching and breathing exercises.
Most of the items we found are cigarettes butts, straws, fishing lines and nets. Other volunteers even got a tire. In total we collected more than 300 kilos of trash. It was a good experience and eye-opener activity.

World Cleanup Day -  (15 September 2018)
Organizer: Guardians of Mother Earth

WILL: Thanks to the new work schedule of Abbey, we can now go together for volunteering events.

World Cleanup Day is Abbey and I’s first cleanup event that we attended. Such an honour to be part of a world advocacy to tidy-up not only the land but also the shores of the earth.

Largest number I got are cigarette butts and small pieces of styrofoam. I felt sorry for sea creatures, we literally messed-up their ecosystem. Imagine, they are eating the humans’ garbage.

That day will never be enough to save the ocean but it will be a good start of awareness to the humanity. Thanks Guardians of Mother Earth Singapore for organising this. Will look forward on next mission like this.

Pegasus Boutique Hotel - One of Singapore’s Iconic Heritage Buildings

ABBEY: Wilma booked this hotel reservation at Pegasus Boutique Hotel in time for our 7th year wedding anniversary. It is a boutique hotel so there will be no fancy lobby or amenities.

Our room is spacious and had new sheets :) The place is kampong (province-like) and quiet. The shower head holder is broken and there is no door to separate the shower from the toilet. Maybe I just don’t know how to operate the TV but the available channels can be counted with my fingers. And it gives static sound whenever you use it. Anyways, we went there to relax and I had a good sleep. I feel refreshed in the morning.

You can spend time in a bar adjacent to the hotel or try a 10-minute walk to the Grandstand.

WILL: It is our 7th year anniversary and I am on sabbatical leave. Luckily, Pegasus Hotel offered an irresistable promotion! A S$48++ a night on their abode.

Based on their location and building structure, I know what should I expect. And I am right! A simple "kampong" style rooms!

Throw away the idea of lavish 5-star hotels and indulge in the simplicity of life and nature around. This is not your claustrophobic type hotel you can check-in the CBD area. :)

The room has its basic needs. A bed, tv, bathroom, airconditioning, a fridge. Amenities are pool, a bbq pit and just a small bar in front of the reception area.

Oh one more thing, it reminds me of provinces in Philippines. We turned-off the aircon around 10pm because it is very cold inside the room. And around 5am a rooster will wake you up! Haha! Nice!

Enjoyed the surroundings! Can we declare this as "province" of Singapore? Hehe! One more thing! The staffs around are lovely! Smiles never left their faces.

A Better Florist - Singapore Flower Delivery

ABBEY: A day before the end of a typical work week and after the hustle and bustle at the office from Monday to Wednesday, my wife received a bouquet of tulips.

I know this will make her happy, delightful and feel more loved. She sent me a snap as I go back home. They're beautiful and colorful. But that is only half the story. Seeing them in actual is very relaxing and will definitely put a smile on your face.

At home, I was surprised that it came with flower food. I placed it in a vase and see them bloom in a day.
Additionally, you can place an order online and have it deliver it on the same day.

You live up to your name: A Better Florist. "Better", indeed. Try them and compare.

WILL: Hubby is frequent in sending me flowers. Sometimes, even in a dinner date, he will brought some of those. Yeah! Yeah! I am lucky lady. ;p

These past days, I am somewhat beaten up because of, you know, day job haha! Abbey knew how frustrated, sad and tired I am. Then Abbey, with the magic help from A Better Florist lighten my Thursday!

It made me smile and as usual, butterflies in my stomach flies relentlessly. I felt adored and appreciated, and the whole office's attention is on me and the flower.  They took photos of the exquisite bouquet of tulips and send to their respective husbands and boyfriends. Ahm! Hey guys! That is ladies' way to tell you "Please send some for me too!!!". Guys!! Read between the line! Haha.

Fresh flowers have a supernatural power over ladies. This made us smile, in-love, happy, recognized, star, beautiful, valuable and powerful.

Guys, do not underestimate the power of surprise flower delivery. :)

I visited their website and the navigation is so simple. They have few choices unlike the other sites that you will be bombarded by add-on! Whew! With that, decision can be made easily and hassle free.

Be Singapore Red Cross Blood Heroes - Donate Blood Now!

ABBEY: I missed the whole 2016 to donate blood. So I'm really excited when Wilma schedule our donation February 2017. Yes, "our" donation.

She will give some of her blood too. This is my fourth time while hers is first. I always tell her that it will be fine and it will finish fast. I'm proud of her accomplishment to conquer her fear of needles and for us to help the community. This will be our regular contribution. I wanted to give back as my mother was a recipient for blood transfusion after her operation due to breast cancer.

Read my wife's story below.

WILL: I totally hate needles poking my skin. I do not like to look on blood flowing out of a body. But I know that one of the greatest thing to share is my own blood.

This is the challenge stated by Abbey in exchange of my Marathon dare. But I pushed it until Feb of 2017 to condition myself and to give a face-to-face battle with my fear.

Broccoli, spinach, chicken and pork liver are on our weekly menu list to boost up our iron in our blood. We slept 8-10 hours every day and make it sure to hit the road or gym twice a week for our exercise.

We supposedly scheduled to have it by Saturday, but we went one day earlier, 3rd Feb. (Please take note to ladies that you cannot donate blood if you are having your menstruation) We filled-up our form, the concierge key-in our details on Red Cross Singapore database, went to room number 2 to check our BP, weight and if we understood the questioners given on the form. Next room, they will get few samples for me them to see if your hemoglobin passed the count.

Few minutes later, I am sitting inside the room waiting having an eye contact and exchanging smiles with the other donors. Oh! I have a badge that it will be my first time to donate blood. :)

The attendant compared my veins from my right and left arm and decided to take on my right. She applied alcohol, open up an anaesthesia, she waited for a minute and viola! I saw how big the hole of the needle that will sip out my blood. Instead of looking away (my usual thing), I stared into the needle and the memory is vividly clear how it went in to my arm and the blood start to run down on the tube. Haha! It is indeed a an achievement for me. Facing one of my greatest fear. Now I am officially a BLOOD HERO!

Blood represents life and it is not only great but holy to give a part of you... part of your body with someone in need.

Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte - Meeting with the Filipino Community in Singapore (16th Dec 2016)

ABBEY: When we heard the news that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will visit Singapore we got excited. We'll be able to see the tough head of state in person. He visited the city-state for two days where he spent some of his time for the Filipino community. Come December 16, we went to Expo and waited for him to stand behind the podium and listen to his speech. The schedule of his arrival is at 6PM, but the gates were opened three hours early. Snacks were given to each guest. It was well organized and no major issue happened.

His delegation includes:
Philippine National Police Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa
Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Lieutenant Edgardo Año
Senator Allan Peter Cayetano and his wife
Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Pefecto Yasay
Special Assistant to the President Bong Go...and many more.

During the 3-hour wait the audience were entertained with dances and singing by the hosts and performer.
And then the crowd roared when they saw President Duterte coming up on stage.

We were given an instruction to remain quiet and be seated on the duration of his speech. But still some walked here and there disturbing the ones eagerly listening. Some even played back the videos that took early in the program. And it became worst when the excess snacks were given. The organizers started to "shhh" some of our kababayans who wants that brown bag.
Come on, where is the respect? Are you here for the food and for the entertainment only?

Back to President Duterte's speech, he explained about his administration's fight over drugs. He denied that there is extra judicial killing and the salvage-type killings are not of government's work.
His stand is: if you will destroy my people, I will destroy you.

He even did the math of the narco-business which starts at 200Php per user per day. And that is a big number.

He also reiterated his support over the burial of former president Marcos in Libingan ng Mga Bayani. He told that the law states anyone can be buried there if he is a president and/or a soldier in which Marcos was fully qualified. And with regards to the claim that it is false, he called them to submit a case.

He asks for peace and end the hatred.

Internationally, he made quite a scene by slamming US President Obama. He explained that he cannot be reprimanded by anyone as he holds sovereignty except by UN.

He proudly shared that there are no more queues and will be no more in the future for the paper works to be obtained by the citizens. The process will be smooth and clear.

He encourage everyone to be assertive of their rights and wished a merry Christmas.

Now, that's the kind of president you'll be wasting your time to listen.

WILL:
Be careful what you wish for... This is my another "sana" (i hope)for this year. Every time my silent hopes were granted, all I can do is smile and murmur "thank you" to HIM.

Before my year 2016 ends, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited Singapore!!! I took an unpaid leave just to see him in person. See! I spend time listening to the President of the Philippines.

Gosh, the queue was very long. There is discipline and all are enthusiastically waiting for their turn. Not more 30mins I am on my designated seat, second right side.

Before he arrived at Singapore Expo Pavilion, some of our "kababayans" showed off their talents in music, dancing and even martial arts. The Masters of Ceremony do not let any dull moment pass through. Oh! Even General Bato performed a song for us. It is a happy event!

President Mayor Duterte got on the stage and Philippines National Anthem was sang. You can see in every Filipino on there the love for our country. No seconds were wasted, Mayor spoke. We laughed and clapped and cheered his name! He thought us how to help the Philippines to get rid of corruption and how big is the drugs business in Philippines (trillions of Peso a month).

Thanks Mayor Duterte for visiting us! It uplifted our spirit during this holiday season! Mabuhay ang Administrasyong Duterte!

More Than Diamonds (Handcrafted Jewellery)

ABBEY: The diamond on the engagement ring I gave to Wilma became loose. At first I planned to have it fix once we go back to Philippines since I bought it there. But Wilma tried to search for a jeweler in Singapore so she can wear her ring again. That's when we knew about the service of More Than Diamonds.

We went to their showroom at Tanglin Road (131 Tanglin Road, #02-16 Tudor Court, Singapore 247924). And it's closed. Visiting is only by appointment and we didn't have that. Seeing there's somebody inside, Wilma knocked at the door and Chris greeted us. He didn't shoo us away but instead welcomed us and asked how can he be of service. We told the ring's story and he examined it. He quoted us 110SGD to fix the broken claw that holds the stone and for plating. He searched for unique marks in the diamond for us to make sure that it is still our diamond when we come back. I also learned that you can put laser inscription on it. Wow.

After two weeks of waiting, I was amazed of the beauty of the ring; all cleaned and sparkling. Thanks Chris and team.  More Than Diamonds is literally more than diamonds. They know the value of their clients and their clients' precious possessions.

Second Proposal? Ha!

WILL:
OMGGGG!!!! I am on shock when I examined the diamond clinging for its life on my engagement ring. That is when we are at Centara Ras Fushi. Imagine, if I didn't notice it, the whole vacation in Maldives will be ruined because of such lost. Blessed to detect just on time.

While Abbey is taking a nap, I can't control myself to look for an expert help. I found More Than Diamonds in facebook and right there and then, I send them private message. Surprisingly minutes passed and someone replied on me.

Abbey and I scheduled it to be done by November. Yes, 3 months after. Yes, we have a very busy schedule. For that 3 months I feel so incomplete. Haha!

November 14, we went to their office, without appointment (please book a schedule) we are just lucky that we were accommodated by Chris that time, maybe he feels my desperation about the ring, haha.

Chris educated us about the diamond. That it has a birthmark and you can encrypt some messages inside (isn't cool?). Then, he found out that one of 4 tower that hold the diamond was cut-off. He charged my husband for $110.00 for cleaning, plating and repair.

Weeks after, Abbey proposed again to me, using the same ring. Haha. So kilig!

Thanks More Than Diamond for saving one of the most precious thing in our married life.
