Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater - Lunch Buffet (SM Mall of Asia by The Bay)

ABBEY: We scheduled a date with Papa Boy before going back to Singapore. We reserved seats for lunch in Banzai, a Japanese restaurant at SM Mall of Asia. Ate Beth and Rai tagged along. An adult costs 668 pesos (drinks included) and free for my nephew.

My first plate had sushi and sashimi. Then I had beef tepanyaki, chicken karaage and yakitori. They also have variety of fried rice; teppanyaki, garlic and shrimp paste. Yes, that was a cheat day for me. They also serve Filipino food like chicken-pork adobo and spare ribs sinigang. And I was really with the sinigang. I went back 3-4 times.

It was fun time and I enjoyed it much as I can see my father happy as well.

WILL: Buffet Restaurants are really the craze in Philippines. No wonder many Filipinos (ehem, including my siblings) gaining weight. The buffets are more affordable than buying an ala-carte meal plus drinks in other food establishments.

Anyway, if you want to see some choices for buffet, you can go to Mall of Asia and more than 4 restaurants are offering eat-all-you-can in there.

I made a reservation at Banzai! It was located just beside the MOA Eye (Ferris Wheel). Luckily, there is a promotion for Visa Credit Card holders, we pay three for 4 adults. Nice right?

As usual, indulge with ebi tempura, sashimi, and sushi. I can't remember how many plates I had of those. Haha. I tried their flavoured fried chicken and some sweets. I fell in love with their mocha meringue. I am the culprit! Haha! I ate it all and felt sad when I saw nothing left on the table but after few minutes, saw some refills and I attacked it again. Remembered my childhood days. Haha.

We went there for lunch buffet, weekdays. Very recommendable.

Lunch Buffet @ Buffet Town - International Seafood, Mixed Grill and Teppan Yaki (Raffles City Singapore)

ABBEY: Haha, I told my in-laws not to have breakfast as we will be having buffet at Buffet Town in Raffles City Mall. Yes, they contained their hunger and we only waited a couple of minutes for the restaurant to open and then game on. My first plate had baked fish fillet with mozarella toppings and pizza.

Then I tried their sushi and sashimi. I got a not pleasant experience with one of their chef. I asked for a plate of sashimi which I got. A couple of minutes I asked again and this time it is for my brother. I didn't know that my brother wants it. Then the chef asked me, "for one or two?" in a sarcastic note. It is as if he doesn't want me to come back again and again. Hello?! That's why it is a buffet. You get little portion and come back if you want more. Avoid food wastage. Anyways that chef cannot stop me from enjoying the food and having a good mood.

I also had pork, chicken and beef satays, sauted beef in ginger and onion, and ice cream. The buffet also include soda which helped me burp when my tummy got full :)

Weekday Lunch buffet costs 24.80++ SGD

WILL: Buffets are now a big fad at Manila. Every corner of a mall there are buffet restaurants and the queue are very long. But when I got to tried some of buffet diner...Oh it is quite lame and the it is very pricey. Then I promised my siblings to tag them along to one of the eat-all-you-can restaurant here in Singapore.

We went to Buffet Town for our Monday lunch. They were greeted by fresh seafoods, sashimi, sushis, and bucket of newly cooked tempura. They love the beef and satays, pasta station is a hit and of course they will not forget the waffles and ice cream on it.

They are shocked that they can stay there from 11:30 - 2:30pm. A non-stop munching and telling tales.

We went out of the restaurant very full that we cannot eat until next day. Hahaha! Thanks Buffet Town for making my tourists from Manila very happy on their lunch time. :) Till next time!

Mandarin Orchard's Triple Three: Lunch Buffet (1-for-1 DBS Indulge Promotion)

ABBEY: Wow a second buffet in a month. Another cheat day for me, but its worth it. Triple Three is at Mandarin Oriental hotel at, yes you guess it right, 333 Orchard Road.

They cater mostly Japanese and North Indian cuisine when we visited. But they also serve foods from the West like honey-baked ham, roasted beef and chicken, and barbecued pork ribs.

My first plate was consist of naan, pappadum, tikka (chicken, lamb and fish). Then I had the Western one. I really liked their pork ribs matching with garlic fried rice. On third trip, I indulged in slices of salmon, and crispy japanese fried chicken. I washed them all down with calamansi juice, fruit punch, and masala tea. Haha. Then I got few cuts of watermelon and a stick of strawberry potong ice cream.

Since it is a 1-for-1 deal, we paid only 80SGD including GST and srvice charge; usual price is 68SGD.

WILL:  This lunch is to celebrate our investment #7 which occupied almost all of our time from the start of January until first days of July 2015. We know we deserves this. :)

We reached Triple Three around pass 12noon. After we were escorted to our respective table Abbey and I moved urgently to check out why they were named as one of the best buffet here in Singapore.

They have Indian and Japanese cuisines and meats, meats and meats. What I love the most in this buffet? All! Haha. But I fell in love with poori, penne pasta, pork ribs, & freshly fried tempura. Even though they do not have a long selection what they served to us was enough to keep us from comparing this to another buffets that we have went to.

This really proved that you do not need to serve more variants of food but it is about how tasty your it is being served to your diners.

Hooray! Triple Three virgin no more! Thanks DBS Indulge for 1-for-1 deal.

Robata Robata Japanese Dining Buffet @Westgate

ABBEY: The first time I saw this restaurant on third storey of Westgate Mall, I told myself that I'll be dining in it.  Lo and behold, we decided to hold my post-birthday celebration lunch there with my ever-beautiful date, Wilma.

I munched on their grilled chicken wings and also on grilled saba. I took a sample of their tepanyaki with chicken as meat. It was delicious. The mushroom give it a good aroma and taste. Since this is a Japanese restaurant, sushi will be present.

My favourite inari is there. With chopsticks, wasabi and soy sauce, I ate a plateful of sushi. I also tried their porridge. Then I went for Japanese curry. It really went well with Japanese rice and chicken karaage. I thought I'll not be having  room for dessert but I did. I got chocolate ice. I washed them all up with a couple of lemonade.

WILL: It is Abbey’s long-month birthday celebration and to grant one of his wish, we dined at Robata Robata at Westgate.

Robata is a style of cooking on which originated in Japan. It is similar with the usual barbeque. But we dined at lunch so the pit was closed. Anyways we always want to lessen the grilled food.

Luckily they have a promotion until the 19th of December and we only paid for $26.90++ instead of $33.90++. From 12PM – 2:30 we were there! Can you do that? Non-stop eating? This is Japanese Buffet, and what is one of their specialty except for the Robatayaki? Well they also have Teppanyaki! If you know how to mix and match the vegetable with different sauces, that side is for you.

But for me and Abbey, we settled to already cooked-food. Of course I splurge on seafoods! Tempura, fresh shrimps, sashimi, sugata-zukuri, crabs, sushis! OMG! They occupied a large part of my tummy. Haha! Before my dessert. I tried their Japanese rice plus their famous curry. Then I looked for tonkatsu but there is none! Disappointing.

I got their lemonade. Finish 3 glasses of it, and on my count Abbey got 5. Haha! I have waffle topped with chocolate ice cream as my dessert.

Thanks Baby for your lunch treat! We headed home and never ate dinner for that day! Haha!

Carnivore at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: We passed by this restaurant a couple of times in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. As the name implies they cater meat; red or white; be it fish, chicken, beef, pork and mutton. I saw their add for 1-for-1 buffet lunch. Since that time I start thinking when can we have lunch there since Wilma is always in the office at that time.

Lo and behold, the opportunity presented itself when we visited ArtScience Museum. It was jam-packed but its nice we were given a table even we didn't made a reservation. I started with spring roll, chicken sausage, and rice. Their rice is flavorful and soft; just the way I like it. After that I always ask the to give me a slice of what they offer. The beef is very tasty and moist. As lunch time is about to end I feasted on grilled white tuna. I think I finished 6-7 pieces. Its very delicious.

The buffet starts at 34sgd. The staffs welcome the guests warmly.

WILL: We are a trying hard herbivore, ahm should I mean vegetarian. If you will see our push cart in Sheng Siong every week, you will see a lot green vegetables were inside. This is for healthier us, healthier...together forever. Ha!

Abbey told me that we will have our lunch date at Carnivore at Marina Bay Sands The Shoppe, hesitant of the price but who am I to resist? He planned this, this is his day.

Upon seeing the poster, gosh, their buffet lunch is 1-for-1 so we will only pay $17 each. :)

Now, I am here to meet all the meat!!! Fish, pork, beef, and mutton is present. This is the only buffet I gone through that I do not need to come back and forth at their table, the have those roving passadors that will ask if you want the meat they carry. My favorite and very unforgettable is their roasted beef, so soft that you can say it melts in your mouth. I have 5 rounds of their salmon, soft and this salmon really carries the natural oil of it.

We will surely come back here. All the staffs were very friendly. Roving passadors seems never been tired of walking and slicing the meats in front of their guests. Oh, please make a reservation or see yourself on a long queue.

Circles Event Cafe - Makati Shangri-la

ABBEY: I have heard about this restaurant back when I'm still working in Philippines. My co-workers kids our manager to have out team dinner there. It didn't happen as its too expensive and the price is out of the budget.

I asked Wilma if we can have a buffet when we have a vacation. We landed a reservation for three at Circles at Shangri-la Hotel in Makati. One person is charged 1590php. They serve western, Turkish, Indian, Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

I like the most is their roasted sweet pork. I had pasta in red sauce, asado siopao, grilled pork, longganisa fried rice, leche flan, watermelon and ripe mangoes. That dinner is great. I'm very full. You can have unlimited drink of different iced teas for top-up of 200php per person.

WILL: Circles is very famous for the buffet world in Manila. It is located at Shangri-la Makati ground floor.
Plane landed and directly from NAIA1 we headed to this sinful world of Circles. Gluttony it may seem but yes, we are very excited to do some buffet. Yes excited for food but more excited to fill out stomachs with my ever missed  Ate Francia. Aside for being an ATE, she is a true and loving friend. Huhu. Teary eyes. Anyways back on food.
They have selection of different cuisines. As usual, chinese, japanese, & indian foods are there, what u Love most? Their stake with this mushroom sauce. The sushi? Not enough variants to choose from. The dumplings? Not that quite tasty as I tastes others. A meager selection of fruits and desserts.
For me, I am still in love with Sofitel's Spiral. It costs Php1,590+++ each and you can book online at
