Lunch Buffet @ Buffet Town - International Seafood, Mixed Grill and Teppan Yaki (Raffles City Singapore)

ABBEY: Haha, I told my in-laws not to have breakfast as we will be having buffet at Buffet Town in Raffles City Mall. Yes, they contained their hunger and we only waited a couple of minutes for the restaurant to open and then game on. My first plate had baked fish fillet with mozarella toppings and pizza.

Then I tried their sushi and sashimi. I got a not pleasant experience with one of their chef. I asked for a plate of sashimi which I got. A couple of minutes I asked again and this time it is for my brother. I didn't know that my brother wants it. Then the chef asked me, "for one or two?" in a sarcastic note. It is as if he doesn't want me to come back again and again. Hello?! That's why it is a buffet. You get little portion and come back if you want more. Avoid food wastage. Anyways that chef cannot stop me from enjoying the food and having a good mood.

I also had pork, chicken and beef satays, sauted beef in ginger and onion, and ice cream. The buffet also include soda which helped me burp when my tummy got full :)

Weekday Lunch buffet costs 24.80++ SGD

WILL: Buffets are now a big fad at Manila. Every corner of a mall there are buffet restaurants and the queue are very long. But when I got to tried some of buffet diner...Oh it is quite lame and the it is very pricey. Then I promised my siblings to tag them along to one of the eat-all-you-can restaurant here in Singapore.

We went to Buffet Town for our Monday lunch. They were greeted by fresh seafoods, sashimi, sushis, and bucket of newly cooked tempura. They love the beef and satays, pasta station is a hit and of course they will not forget the waffles and ice cream on it.

They are shocked that they can stay there from 11:30 - 2:30pm. A non-stop munching and telling tales.

We went out of the restaurant very full that we cannot eat until next day. Hahaha! Thanks Buffet Town for making my tourists from Manila very happy on their lunch time. :) Till next time!

Shangri-La Hotel The Line - International Dinner Buffet

ABBEY: We already experienced their buffet breakfast here at The Line at Shangri La Hotel and now dinner for Rejoice's Appreciation Night. Ladies wore pink and gents black. We were hungry and immediately grab a plate and went to the buffet.
First plate is Indian cuisine (chicken tandoor, garlic naan, briyani rice) because that's the nearest to our seats. This gave us time to chat with colleagues when we got our plates filled up.
Next are chicken and beef satay with peanut sauce and prata. Then we headed for some pork siopao and dimsums. I only got a couple of them as they contain shrimp.
The roasted beef caught my attention and I asked the chef to give me a rib. It is tender and delicious. The juice ran between my fingers. I'm eating like a king :)
The last couple of plates really sealed the deal. Sushi roll with tuna; topped with salmon and then torched. Wow. Delightful. The soy sauce is sweet but it would be better if the wasabi can be a little more spicy. I put a lot on the dip but not that spicy. For 87 pax, the tab went up to more than 3300SGD including wines.

WILL: This is Rejoice Container Services Pte Limited Appreciation Night! Wooooohooooo! I am always waiting for it, because I want my husband to meet my colleagues. In office we are full of laughters, so imagine when we go out and have a full packed dinner? Merrier!!!

This year we went to The Line of Shangri-la Plaza Hotel. As you may know, we already went here but that was for breakfast buffet, now for dinner.

Their roast beef is amazing! Tender and juicy. The salmon never runs out of queue. There is a free selection for dimsums, but I love their siewmai and its dip. Ice cream has it varieties, ohh there is a durian flavor. Froyo is present. Macarons, I ate plateful of that for dessert. To help me digest it all, they have a stall that serves the coffee and tea for the night. Ms Ivy capped our night off with some wine.

I love every Rejoice's Appreciation Night. Thanks again Boss. Till next year :)

Ban Heng Restaurant Harbourfront Branch - Dinner Ala Carte Buffet

ABBEY: Ban heng is located at the fourth storey of Harbourfront Centre. In here we have farewell dinner with Kar Yin.

They are offering a 22SGD ala carte buffet. By the time we get there, I immediately get a bowl of congee. It has thin slices of pork and century egg and I topped it with green onions. Next is a plate of Chinese fried rice combo with our ala carte orders; deep fried chicken, honey glazed pork ribs, fish in sweet soy sauce, sweet and sour pork, and roasted pork. I think I really like the roasted pork then dip in balsamic vinegar as I finished 4 orders of that :)

Be cautious in taking a bite with their fried chicken, it is spicy. I also finished the leftover hor fun of April. It was delicious and the fish taste good. This place is recommended for wedding or company affairs.

WILL: It is my fault, I thought their dimsum buffet is served until dinner but I am wrong. Anyways we were there so we just decided to go for Chinese cuisine buffet dinner.

We ordered too many food and there are few of them that I will not ever forget. First is their Gong Bao Chicken, then their out of this world thick Fried Hor Fun with Sliced Fish with Egg Gravy, their Deep-Fried "Soon Hock" with Superior Soya Sauce and their sweet yum.

It is a great place for you and your tourist friends that want to splurge for food without emptying the wallets. One of the best and yet cheap buffets in Singapore!

Sambo Kojin Yakiniku Smokeless Grill (EDSA Branch)

ABBEY: It is the festive time of the year again as Christmas is fast approaching. And to ride with the mood since its been a long time when we went out with our family, we went to SamboKojin (EDSA) for a buffet. We availed of their promo of 3 plus 1; 1 free for every 3 paying adult.

The restaurant serves Korean and Japanese cuisine. They have crispy and spicy fried chicken, kimchi, ramen, chicken and pork cutlet, tempura and many more. Slices of meat (beef and pork), seafood and salmon for yakiniku.

I like the most is the salmon belly; be it skewered or a slice only. It melts in your mouth after its cooked. Also I ate a lot of these for sashimi. It was totally a feast. Match it with bottomless drinks for less than 100 pesos to wash them down and your set. A buffet costs 750 pesos.

WILL: It is a wonderful time to get together with your family and isn't more wonderful to spend time with your cousins, nephews, tita and tito who you never have seen in flesh for years?

It is a hard thing to organize a 17-adult-4-kid-and-an-infant party for a buffet dinner. Why? First, as usual I want that dinner that will not break my bank. Second, I want a place that is suitable for the kids to roam around and have an array of desserts that they can enjoy. Third, I need to checkout the food for Halal and non-Halal for our Muslim relatives. And the last thing I need to know if the place is chichat-friendly for us to catch-up in our lives.

We arrived 530pm and the food was served at 6. When they saw our relatives wearing a hijab one of the waiter approached them to let them know what are the food served with pork.

Faster than lightning, I approached the tempura ebi and seafoods that I do not do normally and I know that you know why readers. Haha! As usual, we always say no to rice for buffets. We always want to indulge on their viands.

For 3 hours, we eat, talk, eat, drink, sing a happy birthday song, eat and drink again before we headed back home.

Thanks to Ronnel our nice attendant for the day. We have availed their 3+1 combo, the oldies got their senior citizen discount, 50% off for Tito Bert and 3 free mini cakes for our November celebrators.

Till we meet again aunt, uncle, couz and nephews. Thank you for sparing time with Mangila family. ;)

Town Restaurant of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

ABBEY: Another Rejoice Container dinner, and again I was a "tag-along". This time it was held in a restaurant at Fullerton Hotel. Town Restaurant is one of the five restaurants on the hotel. This restaurant is on the other side of the river opposite Clarke Quay.

The first food I put on my plate is tandoori chicken, plain naan, and prata with matching aloo curry. Next plate is sweet and sour fish fillet, roasted pork belly, and char siu pork.

I didn't bother to come back to that roasting station as the staff can't seem to smile nor laugh at a joke. I asked if I can have the whole slab of roasted pork, but instead I received a smirk. Anyways, nothing or nobody can ruin my festive aura during that day.

The buffet also offers grilled beef, sausages and chicken wings. Last stop for me is ice cream. Their chocolate ice cream is rich in texture and taste.

WILL: First of all, I want to make an apology because we do not get a lot of chance to take photo of the food. As usual every year, Rejoice Container Services Pte Ltd holding an Appreciation Night for all the Import, Export and Operations Team. The time that we all do is eat, laugh and talked about anything except job. Haha! Now you know why we are lacking of photos. We are too busy eating and chit-chatting.

I love their dimsums a lot! Ice-kachang is good to see there. The chocolate fountain and the unforgettable for me is their merengue, reminds me of my childhood. I think this is the only restaurant that offers this meringue. Prawn..prawn and a lots of prawn.

Town Restaurant is one of the best buffet here in Singapore. You can book a table here.

Seasonal Tastes at The Westin Singapore

ABBEY: Finally we managed to got a reservation on Singapore Restaurant Week. It is on Westin Singapore (Marina View, Asia Tower 2). Normally a dinner buffet on Sundays costs 55sgd but with the discount it went to 35sgd per person.

We were received warmly by their staff and led us to our table. It was game time.

I got plain naan and tandoori chicken as starter. The chicken was tender, and spicy. Next I had grilled beef along with roasted lamb. Then I indulged on salmon sushi. Maybe because it is Singapore Restaurant Week, I observed that there is less variety of food. Or maybe this is the whole menu.

Free flow of strawberry iced tea, iced tea, coffee and hot tea are included. I was expecting to see the chocolate fountain, but it turned out the fondue was in a sauce pan :) I liked their dark chocolate gelato topped with cookie.

WILL: 3 years ago we participated at Restaurant Week by Dining City, that was our first time and the experience was great.

Our March schedule is not so tight and we need some time to get out of our daily routine..to distress..to unwind. As usual, Abbey and I always receive an update regarding Singapore's Restaurant Week event and no hesitations I reserved a seat for dinner at Seasonal Taste of newly-built Westin Singapore.

Seasonal Taste is located at 32nd floor. After alighting at the taxi, we were escorted by their all-smile people to the hotel lobby then to the lift. We are amazed by the sight from the lobby; a well organized containers in PSA and the view of Marina Bay Sands from different angle.

I am expecting a set menu will be served on us, but we were delighted to hear that we are there for a buffet. Exploring the buffet floor, I was quite frustrated to see that choices were meagre. But hey, I need to cheer up even with less choices, this is still limitless food.. eat-all-you-can!

As usual, I ate my greeneries lavishly. Skipped lambs (I do not eat lambs) then went straight for sashimi. Their chef gladly offered me a new sliced salmon. I saw tempura then I get a few, tastes so good. I went back to get more, but the chef seemed forgot to re-fill the basin of tempura.

Beehoon is great and it is the one that filled up my stomach! I asked for tea and they gave me teapot. I think it is time for the dessert.

I am fan of cream puffs but their one is hhmmmm. Lack of creaminess on their custard filling and blant taste of puffs. I say okay, I will go and splurge on the oreo cheesecake. How's the taste? I just ate a small piece to check it out, then I rest my spoon and pushed the plate for Abbey to finish. Raspberry gelato topped with fresh chocolates cookies is the savior of my night.

The people is so gracious in giving us the food and clearing our table. We forgot to present our SPG membership card upon payment but when we approached their people, the happily assist us to add-on points on our card.

Thanks baby Abbey for this night and sorry for the rants! Haha!
