Marina Bay Sands Infinity Pool

ABBEY: When we went to Sands Sky Park, I only saw a part of the pool. I can't believe when I was already there having a dip at the "infinite" water structure.

We got there on a Sunday and we expected a jam-packed pool. Everyone flashes a smile and taking snaps. Since we haven't got a place yet, we went for a dip in their jacuzzi that also has a good view from the top.

But the best experience is when we had the pool to ourselves at 6am. While everyone is asleep we were there taking pictures; and I can say that they're great. The place is serene and the water is calm and soothing.

WILL:  What about a pool with a view of skyscrapers? Extraordinary isn't? Well this is what the infinity pool of Marina Bay Sands here in Singapore offers its hotel guests.
From the 57th storey, you can swim at this 500-foot long pool, while intoxicating yourself in the views of Merlion, Esplanade and Art Science Museum. Indeed a majestic scenery of structures this can offer.
You can enter and enjoy this privilege, just present your keycard and pool card to the staff and you can stay there from 6am-10pm. They also offer jacuzzis; in there, while the hydro-therapy is going against your body, please gaze at the beautiful Gardens by the Bay.
Nicest shot here was taken from 0600-0630.

Rise (Marina Bay Sands Hotel)

ABBEY: I'm only a tag-along in Wilma's company dinner. The restaurant is at Tower 1 of Marina Bay Sands. Dinner buffet is from 6:30pm until 10:30pm. On the day of our visit the Rise has a "berry" theme.

They have beetroot soup, pork with red cabbage and raspberry and berries as dessert. I feasted on fish fillets, pork bellies, roasted beef (this is very delicious) and mac and cheese. I think I had 5-6 trips on the buffet table. I filled my plate with dragon fruit and watermelon for dessert. I also had 2 cups of coffee after dinner. One person costs 68sgd++ and includes free flow of tea and coffee. Also in the buffet are bread, ice cream, chocolate fountain, sushi and sashimi, and seafoods.

WILL: We came.. We saw.. We conquered! Rise is located Marina Bay Sands lobby Tower 1. Rejoice Container staffs were rejoicing, half of the year was passed and our big boss appreciates all our efforts. He is a so appreciative and I am so thankful for having a great kind boss. This night was entitled the "Appreciation Night" and Rejoice team really bonds over the food and drinks and now you know why I am getting fatter and fatter.
Rise, as usual, like some buffet restaurant offers different cuisine, from Western, Japanese, Indian up to Singapore's local food. My favorite is the sashimi and maki roll. Their roasted beef is amazingly soft and blends perfectly with their mushroom gravy sauce. The nan is very tasty also and of course, I will not forget their ice cream that can put on some melted chocolate all-over it.
This costs $81.00 for each at dinner with unlimited tea/coffee or soda. I am thankful that we have it for free. This is a nice try but not so recommendable, it seems too expensive. Oh I almost forgot, I have TWG tea for a drink and as of now, this is the best tea I ever-ever tasted.

ArtScience Museum

ABBEY: This is included in the 24sgd all-access pass. The exhibit is in the top floor of the museum. On the right after you alight the elevator is the interactive gallery of objects that served as inspiration on modern inventions that we have today; like Da Vinci's sketches for a vehicle that allows human to fly which gives the Wright brothers the idea for an airplane. A wall of touch-screen monitors allows you to create a postcard and send them to you friends. On the left side is the audio-visual presentation of the objects.

WILL: ArtScience Museum is one of the greatest landmark now of Singapore as it was built conjointly with the famous Marina Bay Sands 3 towers. Almost every month, different artist, artifacts were showcased here, every turn, every time, this museum never fails to amuse us.
Finally, we entered this lotus-liked museum. Goose-bumps? Yes, it is present. And now we are here to see all Harry Potter and Andy Warhol displays. Unknowingly, we are also allowed to set our eyes to their presentation. The ideas, the creativity and the amusing facts and knowledge by different people.
This is a truly amazing experience. A must-go place for all the visitors of Singapore.

Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal

ABBEY: This exhibit was included in the 24sgd-all-access pass in the ArtScience Museum.

Andy is using simple things as his model; like shoes and Campbell canned products, and cardboard boxes. He also tapped the use of silk-screen printing as medium. We got the chance to play on his "Silver Clouds". Even the photo booth is used to create art.

Again this exhibition prohibits photography.

WILL: I have no interest to Andy Warhol exhibit at ArtScience Museum until my husband and I watched the Men in Black 3. Ha! I asked Abbey if we can get the package of Harry Potter and Andy Warhol, and he agreed.
After almost half an hour thinking what to buy at HP store, we went to Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal. This exhibit runs up to 12th of August.
What's inside? I am baffled, so simple and the taken for granted things on our daily lives where there, painted and now a part of the history. ;)

Carnivore at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: We passed by this restaurant a couple of times in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. As the name implies they cater meat; red or white; be it fish, chicken, beef, pork and mutton. I saw their add for 1-for-1 buffet lunch. Since that time I start thinking when can we have lunch there since Wilma is always in the office at that time.

Lo and behold, the opportunity presented itself when we visited ArtScience Museum. It was jam-packed but its nice we were given a table even we didn't made a reservation. I started with spring roll, chicken sausage, and rice. Their rice is flavorful and soft; just the way I like it. After that I always ask the to give me a slice of what they offer. The beef is very tasty and moist. As lunch time is about to end I feasted on grilled white tuna. I think I finished 6-7 pieces. Its very delicious.

The buffet starts at 34sgd. The staffs welcome the guests warmly.

WILL: We are a trying hard herbivore, ahm should I mean vegetarian. If you will see our push cart in Sheng Siong every week, you will see a lot green vegetables were inside. This is for healthier us, healthier...together forever. Ha!

Abbey told me that we will have our lunch date at Carnivore at Marina Bay Sands The Shoppe, hesitant of the price but who am I to resist? He planned this, this is his day.

Upon seeing the poster, gosh, their buffet lunch is 1-for-1 so we will only pay $17 each. :)

Now, I am here to meet all the meat!!! Fish, pork, beef, and mutton is present. This is the only buffet I gone through that I do not need to come back and forth at their table, the have those roving passadors that will ask if you want the meat they carry. My favorite and very unforgettable is their roasted beef, so soft that you can say it melts in your mouth. I have 5 rounds of their salmon, soft and this salmon really carries the natural oil of it.

We will surely come back here. All the staffs were very friendly. Roving passadors seems never been tired of walking and slicing the meats in front of their guests. Oh, please make a reservation or see yourself on a long queue.

Harry Potter The Exhibition - Singapore

ABBEY: Who doesn't want to see the props and costume use in the seven blockbuster movies of the boy wizard? (I'll not count Wilma's). After the successful display in London, they set it up in ArtScience Museum Singapore, first in Asia. A pair of ticket costs us 48sgd- an all-access pass for both Harry Potter: An Exhibition and Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal. Upon getting the ticket we proceeded to the galleries in basement 2. We took snaps in the flying Ford Anglia, then went on their photo booth. A little time spent on their waiting area and our batch begins the journey in the Sorting Hat room. I was shy to volunteer as I thought the hat will tell me that I'm too old to went to a Hogwart's house.

After the sorting ceremony we went to Gryffindor's common room. We saw Harry and Ron's bunk bed and the contents of Ron's trunk, some of their casual clothes and Gryffindor's bulletin board.
I can't remember the sequence of galleries but we saw the other 3 house common rooms, Forbidden forest, Quidditch, Herbology (make sure you pull the mandrakes), Astrology, some Hogwart's professor's room, Hagrid's hut and the Great Hall. Items like Golden Snitch, Bludgers, and Quaflle (you can play them), bogart cabinet, Nimbus broomsticks, The Quibbler magazine are on the display. Triwizard Cup casket and the Yule balls costumes are there including Fred and George's fireworks. The exhibit ends at the souvenir shop that sells Chocolate Frogs, Bertty Bots every flavor beans, wand replicas, shirts, scarves, coins, Marauder's Map and your photo taken earlier. We got 2 shirts for 100sgd. I forgot to ask if they have floo powder. Taking photos or videos are prohibited.

WILL: How selfish I am? Well, I want to go here in Harry Potter Exhibition at ArtSceience Museum with few people and to achieve that goal, we must go here in weekdays, so I filed a half-day leave! :)

After our gastronomic escapade at Carnivore, we walked in at the museum's lobby, bought a discounted ticket(show your IC at the counter)then we never wasted a time to see the exhibit.

Once we entered their foyer my excitement hit the highest level. We set our foot on the first stage, we must know what house we belong through the Sorting Hat, I want to be a volunteer but I really know where I belong...the house of Slytherin. After few works of the magical hat, the door lifted and I was about to faint.

The Hogwarts Express welcomes us. My eyes and ears was caught by the Fat Lady, then I knew I was about to enter the Gryffindor room. Wands, costumes, and even beds of the casts of this films were all there.

To feel to be a Hogwarts student, you must go their classes and one of the two sets that you can lay your hands on is the squealing Mandrake. Yikes, Boggarts cabinet seems so real that anything your mind thinks will come out from it.

You can play shooting the quaffles at the hoop, I enjoyed this game, baby! Here, you can see the famous brooms and the quidditch. They also exhibits the evil slash Harry Potter's number one enemy, Volde---... sssshhh.. you know who..

Half an hour is enough just to see those props and costumes of the famous novel of all time. We bought a shirts for $40.00 each. I want to buy a wand $70.00 for Abbey, but he refused. As I thought about it, yes entrance fee was quite overpriced but who will know when this Harry Potter Exhibition will visit again Singapore or any Asian country?

Din Tai Fung Restaurant

ABBEY: We were surprised and happy when our Ninong Joel told us that he'll be in Singapore for a conference. We met at Suntec Convention Center and then proceeded to Marina Bay Sands Shoppes.

Searching for a diner, we found this at basement 1. It offers steamed buns, dumplings, rice plates and noodles. The porkchop noodle soup is delicious; all components made a good meal. Their shrimp-pork dumplings are juicy; best to be dipped in soy sauce with chili flakes.

Our dining also includes beef noodles, fried rice and drinks.

WILL:  And then, the long wait is over! Ninong Joel went here for some company affairs and asked him for some pig-out! We picked him up at Suntec Convention Center after his VMware meeting and hailed a taxi to Marina Bay Sands. Straight we went here at Din Tai Fung and ordered dimsum and noodles.
This pork chop noodle soup is fantastic. Noodles were firm yet soft, its soup is very delicious. The dimsum is great! Packed with pork and shrimp made me remember my favorite siomai back in the Philippines.
The restaurant is very welcoming. Almost all tables were filled in even it is past 8pm. This is just a proof that this restaurant is pretty good! Foods is around $10-$25.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Beanstro

ABBEY: I came from office and I was so hungry. As we wait for the opening of the musical we dined at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Beanstro in Marina Bay Shoppes. People flocked at the place but it only took a couple of minutes to have a seat. I got their recommended Beanstro breakfast platter from the All-day breakfast menu and costs no more than 15sgd. All the components of the platter complement well with each other; grilled tomato, sausage, bread and ample serving of scrambled egg. The meal satisfied my hunger. I hope they can serve the meals faster as well as the bill.

WILL: Before going to my most awaited play, Wicked, we went here for some early dinner. This is located just beside the ocular's eye. They have this like an al fresco dining. And on that side you can enjoy the site of some splashing water and the people riding the sampan.
There is always a queue, a long queue and very lucky of us we are number is just number 3. So 15-20 mins were the approximated time for us to be have a place to dine in.
Their Breakfast-All-Day is a great idea! We really love this!

Gardens by the Bay

ABBEY: We have much anticipation for the opening of this garden. Above in the Marina Bay Sands Skypark we saw the beautiful landscapes and dome structures. One of them, the Flower Dome,  opened in line with the World Orchid Conference. Free shuttle rides were offered or you can use the foot bridge to get there.

You can enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature with their open boardwalk beside a swamp, and international gardens like Malayan and Chinese. Bonus feature is you can take a snap on the other side of MBS. It's still a work in progress and I knew that will be better once it is fully opened.

WILL: This is a great way to celebrate Abbey's bday. We surrounded ourselves with flora.
We eyed to go in here once the NatGeo featured some of this on their Marina Barrage show and the WOC gave us this great opportunity to preview one of the dome.
We roamed around the vast space of the unfinished garden but even it is not 100% ready, we awed to the magnificent views and architecture of it.
From Marina Bay Sands, there is bridge that will connect the people to this wonderful space or maybe in future time, there will be a bus to be assigned here.
We can't wait for the grand opening of this garden.

Sands SkyPark

ABBEY: I've seen Marina Bay Sands towers progress from being built until it was opened to the public. It is my wish to go to the top and see the bay at a higher perspective.

For a fee of 20sgd and a good cloudy windy weather, we went to the 56th floor. The lift ride will give you air pocket telling you that it will be very high up there. When we reached the top the view is awesome. We didn't waste anytime to take snaps. We were overwhelmed by the place. Drinks and light snacks are available for munching. A garden, pool and restaurant are also there at the park

WILL: Sands skypark? Expensive meh! Hehe. Its on 56th floor of Marina Bay Sands. But anyway, acting like a tourist, we want to spend some time on a noah's ark look-a-like. ;)
If you want to think over something about your life, this is a place to recommend. Hehe. Makapagnilay-nilay ka tlga. Or ako lng ang gumagawa nun, back in our home, I am staying to our rooftop just to think over what happened and will occur to my life.  Basta wag lng tatalon hehe.
They have store here for some snacks. :) A palm sweating and knees shaking experience. :)

Kraze Burgers Singapore

ABBEY: We visited this shop near the skating rink of Marina Bay sands. Warning, the burgers you're about to order is made for people who has a big appetite. Yes, the burgers are huge. Each burger is freshly grilled topped with tomato and lettuce. A plate of largely-cut fries makes a good combo.

WILL: In front of Marina Bay skating rink, this Kraze Burger is located. What difference they have in other? Hmmm, order then they will prepare for you, serves around 10-15 mins.
The unforgettable fries, the unordinary sauces spread along our wheat buns and extra flavor of the pickles. Shocks, blogging this makes me drool. Hehe. It costs from 9-12S$ per burger. Worthy.
