Hermès - The Gift of Time (Singapore 2012)

ABBEY: The third chapter of Ecclesiastes on the Holy Scriptures tells us that there is time for everything. Hermes tells just like that in their exhibition call The gift of Time. It is currently displayed at Old Railway Station in Tanjong Pagar. It ends August 12. It shows timepieces made from bags, pieces of tables utensils, and even water. Also it gives a hint the humble beginnings of the brand. It teaches us to cherish the time and savor it. When was the last time we were excited to set our footprints in the end of first snowfall or appreciate the silence when the vacuum cleaner was turned off?

WILL: The traveling exhibit that was started in Hong Kong now stepped-in at the shores of Singapore. As one of leading brands of bags and fashion, Hermes presents the Gift of Time Exhibit in the historical Tanjong Pagar railway station. As we enter the old railway, we are very delighted that Hermes open this exhibit to public for free and installed their arts at the place who holds many memories of Singapore.
There are 7 rooms with different designs with a colorful and informative insights. The Hermes really portrays how the time played a big role to their company.
Remember Hermes represents by a horse and at the first room, there is a sundial and in the middle is a horse, as they shows that time is eternal. Just go round and round.
As we enter the second room, one of their usher approached and gave us a pouch and told us to keep all our watches and all the devices with time inside to fully enjoy the exhibit. The second room was full of quotations that will made me think, how happy to live our life once we achieved to do those phrases.
Now entering the third room, there's a saddle and a pole...a pole that is huge (taller than Abbey) that I really can't imagine any horse can surpass that by jumping over.
4th room, displayed some cup and saucers designed by Hermes with a spinning top-like that represents balance.
In the fifth room, they show off some of their famous bags with golden clutches and some swatches of different leather formed as a bird. The imaginary time was in the 6th phase.
Seventh is the most attractive, I can say, playful imagination indeed.
As we went through these rooms, facts by facts we understand how to appreciate the time. This is the most valuable gift we can give to every people in our lives.

Rise (Marina Bay Sands Hotel)

ABBEY: I'm only a tag-along in Wilma's company dinner. The restaurant is at Tower 1 of Marina Bay Sands. Dinner buffet is from 6:30pm until 10:30pm. On the day of our visit the Rise has a "berry" theme.

They have beetroot soup, pork with red cabbage and raspberry and berries as dessert. I feasted on fish fillets, pork bellies, roasted beef (this is very delicious) and mac and cheese. I think I had 5-6 trips on the buffet table. I filled my plate with dragon fruit and watermelon for dessert. I also had 2 cups of coffee after dinner. One person costs 68sgd++ and includes free flow of tea and coffee. Also in the buffet are bread, ice cream, chocolate fountain, sushi and sashimi, and seafoods.

WILL: We came.. We saw.. We conquered! Rise is located Marina Bay Sands lobby Tower 1. Rejoice Container staffs were rejoicing, half of the year was passed and our big boss appreciates all our efforts. He is a so appreciative and I am so thankful for having a great kind boss. This night was entitled the "Appreciation Night" and Rejoice team really bonds over the food and drinks and now you know why I am getting fatter and fatter.
Rise, as usual, like some buffet restaurant offers different cuisine, from Western, Japanese, Indian up to Singapore's local food. My favorite is the sashimi and maki roll. Their roasted beef is amazingly soft and blends perfectly with their mushroom gravy sauce. The nan is very tasty also and of course, I will not forget their ice cream that can put on some melted chocolate all-over it.
This costs $81.00 for each at dinner with unlimited tea/coffee or soda. I am thankful that we have it for free. This is a nice try but not so recommendable, it seems too expensive. Oh I almost forgot, I have TWG tea for a drink and as of now, this is the best tea I ever-ever tasted.

Ginvera - Green Tea Aqua Whitening Cream with Oil Control

ABBEY: Our face reacts immediately if we apply creams or other beauty regimens on it. For me rashes will occur. That's why I was hesitant when Ginvera was applied to me. I was waiting for itching but it didn't came. The cream is cold upon applying and the smell is good. It leaves a soft and moisturized skin. And the bonus; your wife will  tell you that you are handsome every morning :)

WILL: Abbey had this very dry cheeks last week and I am so freaking anxious about it. I immediately asked him to stop to use his facial wash.
Every evening after his clean-up, I applied to him this Ginvera Green Tea Whitening Cream. Religiously using this make our face moisturized and as I observed it lessens the oils on our face.
We also love too. Thanks Ginvera.

Singapore Food Trail

ABBEY: When my parents went here for a visit, we took them to the flyer. We bought the tickets and we were informed that each ticket has an 8-dollar voucher for the food trail.

The trail caters food served in stalls during the earlier years. They got chicken rice, nasi lemak, satay beehon, bak kut teh and many more. A meal ranges from 5-10 sgd. The place was designed with a street-like ambiance.  It is located at the foot of Singapore flyer; a futuristic ride that stands from humble beginnings.

WILL: As we planned that my in-laws will be going here for some vacation, I always keep an eye to the websites where we will be going. Why? of course for promotions! Hehe.. Last September, Singapore Flyer not just offered a 10% discount on flight tickets but also a voucher of $8 on Singapore Food Trail.
We do not have the chance to use that voucher that time due to schedule glitches, so we decided to use those 5 vouchers once Marineth went here for a visit.
OMG, I was shock at the prices of the well-known foods. For as low as $5, you can make yourself full. Hehe. So, imagine how full we were when we spent all our vouchers on this dinner.
Yes their food is cheap but they do not compromise the taste, the ambiance is very nice, all the store owners are smiling and by that, you can order for more. Haha!
Thank you to Singapore Flyer for this very nice idea it is blast from the past! Keep up the good work Singapore Food Trail!

Shu Uemura Cleansing Oils

ABBEY: We got 4 sample sachets each of these cleansing oils. Upon availing the samples the sales associate will ask for your face skin type. I was given the sample for oily ones :) During our clean up, we opened one sachet and applied the oil as per the instructions. It has a nice scent and you will not feel any greasiness after rinsing; leaving your skin smooth and soft. This maybe the best cleanser that I've tried.

WILL: We registered then we get their samples. I forgot to get the name of the very accommodating personnel that time, they ask me few questions first and check our skin before they gave us the suitable oils for us.
She gave me the brightening cleansing oils and high performance balancing cleansing oils.. for my husband, she gave four sets cleansing beauty oil (anti-oxidant).
The instruction is to put it on a dry face with dry hands. Okay. After that date we had, I went to our bathroom to remove my make-up.
In my head, "Hmp! This oils will just worsen the removal of my make up, specially on my eye area. Just like other unmasking products, tints of my liquid eyeliner will be all over my face".
As I open the sachet with violet colored bottle, I was surprised to found out the very soothing aroma. It made me feel that I am in a spa. ;) Very relaxing! I pour some oils on my dry hands and put it immediately on forehead then on my eyes. All I can is "wow". The make up just seems melted away and I can't see and residue of it. It just make me feel that I never put any make-up on. ;)
Abbey love it too. He have a very sensitive skin, but this oil dont give him any allergic reaction. After using it, he blurted out. "We will definitely buy this".
Thanks Shu Uemura. Perfect! When they posted a contest to bring all our toughest and hardest to remove make up, haha! I passed up the challenge, I know I will lose that battle. Hehe!

CocaCola Can Glass - McDonalds Singapore

ABBEY: This promo became a craze here at SG. You can get a "can" glass if you order a burger meal and up size it. The collectible is modeled from the signature Coca Cola can but is made of glass. It's hard to complete the set as the other colors are out of stock. Now we can enjoy our meal with more style :)

WILL: Free coke glass? Yeah it is free when u up sized your meal. Fair? For me... No. Why? Because they have big serving, their regular size coke and fries is the large size in Philippines, i cannot eat it all. Ha!
But because i want to have the latest craze, i topped up $0.50 for the up size meal then here we go, I redeemed 4 glasses. Yeah 4 glasses, now we only have two, naabor ang dalawa :)

Cetaphil - Every Age. Every Stage. Every Day.

ABBEY:  Wilma told me that we will have a sample Cetaphil facial cream to be tested. At the back of my mind I'm thinking that the product will be good. I first used Cetaphil products as recommended by my dermatologist for my allergy. They worked great. After washing my face, my wife gently applied the cream. Its good. No odor and my skin adopted to it as well.

WILL:
Thank you Cetaphil for sending us a trial pack. Anyway, back in Philippines Cetaphil was used by my niece and nephews for their daily bath so I am quite happy that they send us the trial pack.
My hubby's skin is very sensitive. We applied it on our face, so lucky that it doesn't produce any irritations. Truly, cetaphil never broke our trust with them  :)

The Body Shop - Moisturizer

ABBEY:
We always wait for their promotions of body wash. Those citrus-scented products is relaxing and invigorating. Prices starts from 12sgd but only 5 when they're in promo. Not bad huh. They also gave us samples of moisturizer. It worked for my skin and haven't developed any rash. Thanks Body Shop.

WILL:
My husband registered me to be a member of The Body Shop. Every time they have new products, of course they notify us to try it on. So we have this product for free. One night, we tried this moisturiser. It indicates to be compatible on all skin type, we applied on our faces, the smell is not that pleasant unlike other products. The feeling after an overnight, hmmm i can say a satisfactory result. One is enough.

The Economist

Abbey:
The magazine that I received contains collection of featured article of  The Economist. This is their sample. It tells how advanced the cloning research and testing in the US. You can also read about the depressed area in other countries and how the world helps on their needs. As their name states, they tackle also the effects of mobile phones on their profits on fish. How can you sell your goods at a better price. With technology fast advancing, they can have potential buyers even if they are far away from each other. Hope I can read more on this mag.

WILL: It truly fed our mind. My expectation to this is just a ordinary magazine that will portray the life of others, but damn, I am all wrong.
This sample magazine that Abbey received features the negative and positive in looking deeper in biology, the imbalance rate of girls and boys in China and India, and they tackle about a discovery of disease that affects the prosperity of a country.
So informative. Currently waiting for this magazine for a fresh copy for 2011. :)

Lacoste Perfume

ABBEY:
The best things in life are free. :) Opo, yun nga lang konti lang ang sample na ito. Wilma told me, way back when they give free samples, it comes in a small bottle. Now, the sample is a cloth soaked in the perfume and packed. Even though the packaging has changed, ok pa rin ang sample. Ang bango-bango ko :) Thanks LaCoste.

WILL: We want to know the scent of this perfume. So we decided to ask for a sample. Then we got it, not more than 3 weeks. :)
The smell? lalakeng lalake. hehehe. If I will buy this perfume? Maybe no. Not a distinctive to others. But thankful for the grant of sample request.

Abbey: This was first time to receive this kind of freebie.

I'll be waiting for my Lacoste :)

Delifrance Chicken Bourbon Sandwhich

Abbey: Delifrance...one of the place na helpful sa akin when I'm making ligaw kay Wil. I remember that one morning after my shift, I bought breakfast for her sa Delifrance.

Then came her turn, she presented me a printed promo ticket of French Dip Roast Beef. Sarap nun :) Kaya talagang nawili kami sa food nila. We also tried their pasta for lunch.

Kakatuwa kasi nagpromo ulit sila, pero now may twist, as in twister talaga. "How much bourbon can a chicken drink if a chicken could drink bourbon?" Akala nila mahirap? Sa taong gutom, walang tongue twister na mahirap, kasi nagti-twist na ang sikmura ko.

Hope to have breakfast in Delifrance with my wife soon....

Will: Delifrance is a real friend. We subscribed sa mailing list nila so we were updated sa mga promos nila.
The latest was the Chicken Bournbon Challenge. We just recite the tongue twister thrice and as easy as that, we get a sampler of their new sandwich.
I got addicted sa French Dip Roast Beef nila (P99.00) last 2009. With my mighty foot, I am always in their place sa Zeta Building, on foot lang kasi one way Salcedo, hehe.
Love delifrance. Keep the promos coming :)
