8 Noodles (Dine on 3) at Sentosa Island

ABBEY: After soaking on the pools of Adventure Cove and when the rain started to fall, we headed to 8noodles at Siloso Beach. Right timing to sip a hot bowl of soup on a cold weather.

Although I ordered Hakka-Style Braised Minced Pork Noodles, a dry noodle, they still give me a delicious soup to complete my meal. The noodle is firm and the sauce is tasteful. Each serving is big but costs around SGD16. It took a while for our food to be served maybe because we're too early to dine, but its worth the wait.

I enjoy putting shrimp paste on my noodle so much that allergy started to kick in ;) It was manageable though. We took snaps on their veranda and went home.

WILL: It was the celebration of my 30th birthday so I want it in some sophisticated and yet affordable place to pig out. Since we will spend whole morning at Sentosa, it is better to look for a diner inside that island. Before that day I searched and searched until I finally found the 8 Noodles located at Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa.
After our water splashing at Adventure Cove, around 5pm we alighted at the Beach Front station of the tram and boarded the bus to Siloso Beach. It rained that time so the noodles and hit soup will he great.
We sat, we ordered and we burped! I ordered the Pork Rib Noodle Soup. I was astounded as the waiter put our food one by one. They have a big serving, one order can accommodate two hungry tummies.
Time to linger in, their soup is so delicious that all I want to do sipped it directly out from the bowl. Haha! The noodles is nicely done, al dente, the way I like. And the most unforgettable pork ribs... it seems that the cut was from a dinosaur, haha, the ribs is huge and the meat is so tender, I really don't need to exert an extra effort to take it from the bone, the pork taste awesome just compliment with its soup.
Chat ordered for Homemade Wanton Noodles Soup and she gave me some of her dumplings, it is delicious also. :)
This place is a great find. Thanks to Noodles 8, you can contact them 63711019 / 65 6371 1010  yeeching.koay@shangri-la.com.

Satay by the Bay

ABBEY: After being an "eco-adventurer" at Gardens by the Bay, we felt hunger. Satay by the Bay is the nearest place to go. Food stalls offers Chinese, Indian, Western, Malay and Indonesian cuisines. It also has a bar for after dinner hangout.

We ordered chicken and mutton satay for less than 15sgd that came with rice cake and peanut sauce. We also got cereal prawn and crispy baby squids for 25sgd. As always, I picked up food from chinese-mixed-rice stall (3sgd for a cup of rice and 2 meat viands).

The view and ambiance of the place is relaxing. A pond and bridge welcomes a customer for dining.

WILL: You do not want to eat your satay together with buzzing machines of vehicles, well then Satay by the Bay is the right place for you. This hawker is located at the heart of Gardens by the Bay.
This is great for tourist who wants to taste different cuisines that Singapore offers.
Not more than $5 you can have a feast of Satay here with astonishing view of Marina Bay Sands and breeze of sea air. This is a great place to ask a woman if you're in a tight budget ;)

Marché Bar & Bistro

ABBEY: We had tried to dine in Marche's restaurant but this is the first time with their bar and bistro. This one is located outside Raffles City mall. I ordered grilled chicken pizza and the staff told me that its really big; enough for 2 persons to share. Not knowing that the "threat" is serious, I was surprised when I saw it being served in a large plate and has its own stand as it will occupy our whole table. It is like a super-sized Turkish pide (an oval-shaped thin crust bread with toppings). For 18++ SGD, this delight has a reasonable price. I was already full finishing only half of the pie. It was delicious and full of aroma. The ambiance is good as well; fit to meet with friends after a day's work.

WILL: We watched "The Impossible" movie premiere at the Shaw Lido and Abbey's schedule was on NA shift then, so I decided to stat and accompany him until the 11pm hits the clock.
We went to Chijmes to have some pica-pica but he don't like the ambiance of the place, so we went out, in that we saw the Marche Bar and Bistro waving on us.
We sat down and I scanned the menu as I am starving that time, whoah, this chicken wrap caught my attention and immediately ordered for it. Abbey went for pizza. The taste of the roasted chicken wrap is nice but better when the yogurt was poured all over it. Pizza is huge to its price, so huge we cannot finish, we just tapao it. After a day, I ate it, yes I, all alone for me to eat it. Ha!
This is a great place to unwind while sipping wine. Thanks Abbey for asking me to dine with you here. Definitely we will be coming back.

Kkongdon Korea BBQ SG

ABBEY: JP Pepperdine has a lot of food chains and Kkongdon Korean is one of them. Wilma told me that she won a 20sgd voucher from JP Pepperdine Facebook contest and asked me if we can redeem it at Marina Square.

So we went there for dinner after office. The staff warmly greeted us and showed us our table. We were advised to try their meal for two at 19.80 per pax. A choice of 2 meats (chicken, beef, and pork), kimchi cake, egg soufflé  and soup. It also includes buffet of kimchi and veggies.

WILL: Since Korean culture hits the Asia so hard, people goes berserk from fashion to food. No wonder why JP Pepperdine group brought Kkongdon Korea Bbq here in Singapore. As they want to be known to diners, they held a contest and a $20 vouchers were up, blessed, we are one of the lucky beneficiary of that contest. Ha!
Abbey and I just met at Esplande MRT station after office hour. Just 150 meters away, we walked to Marina Square branch, their lovely people approached us and immediately guide us on to our table.
We ordered their BBQ Special Dinner Set for $19.80++ per person. Griller was ready and I am so thankful that they have exhaust fan per table. We set the meats and spices to our griller and while waiting for it to be cooked, we munched up their unlimited Korean side dishes. I am not fond of DIY cooking, luckily my hubby was there to wave his magic on our foods. This package came with my favorite kimchi pancake and chadol.

Shiraz

ABBEY: After enjoying a rocking concert by Parokya ni Edgar looked for a bite to eat. Then we saw Shiraz's shawarma. I hurriedly get in the queue and ordered a chicken shawarma and falafel. The chicken shawarma combo comes with drinks and fries at less than 15sgd. The veggie falafel is at 8.80. The sauce that we got is garlic-mayo. It was good. Enough to fill our hunger. The branch where we ate is at Clarke Quay.

WILL: After the Parokya ni Edgar concert at The Arena, after screaming our lungs out, after the jumping against the rhythm of their music, I was drained. Totally tired and staved. I can make it to our home and there we can eat a dinner, but Abbey insisted to eat out and refill our body's energy. I just want something light since it is almost 11PM, gladly we passed to Shiraz.
Shiraz offers Persian cuisine and we just there to hit their shawarma. Abbey ordered chicken shawarma and vegetable falafel. I like their vegetable one, it seems that there is beef inside. Haha,.. This is located 3A River Valley Road Clarke Quay. And their food costs $8.80.

Wheels and Wieners

ABBEY:
This diner is at located at 25A Perak Road in Little India. With table settings and decorations set at 1950's this will definitely get you back in time. The staff advised us to try their beef stew and bacon at 10sgd ( usually 25). I got their Five O with fries at 16sgd. The food is delicious specially the hotdog. The fries is a bit drenched in oil though. We munched on the food as we check out Chat's latest phone.

WILL: Via viber, Abbey said, "On Monday we have a date." then I replied, "Let me check first my schedule.". All I can do is smirk when he send a sarcasm sms "Tsk! Too busy?!". Haha!
Of course, who am I to resist the offer? So I free up my heavy schedule for that Monday and Chat is free too so we all meet up at Wheels and Wieners.
It was located in the heart of Singapore's Little India and surrounded by backpackers' flats. As we enter this restaurant, its like we blasted back to past. I got their Monday promo $10 for Jack's Beef and Bacon Stew. The taste?, awesome. The thickness and lovely aroma of the stew clicked well with the garlic bread. Abbey's one was served and after taking a bite, he told me to taste it. Exaggerated it may seem but the hotdog really tastes good. And so Chat's standard in food was met by this diner. We really love the hotdogs in here.
Before going back to our pads, I visited their washroom, and I was astounded also by its design. Unlucky, my bag and camera is not with me, never got a chance to take a photo.
This is very recommendable. If happens that you are along Sin Ming Tower, pay a visit in here. :)

1 Twenty-Six

ABBEY: DiningCity got a promo for a list of restaurants. Prices per set meal dropped low. When the reservation period began, all diners became fully booked. We got our reservation at 1 Twenty-Six. It's located at Big Splash near East Coast park. Taxi fare rated at 20sgd. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by their friendly staff and guided us to a 2-seater table at the corner of a balcony-like place. We got pumpkin soup and drunkren prawn for appetizer. Braised pork and pan-seared tuna as main coure. For dessert Warm apple and date filo strudel with vanilla Anglaise. All for 82sgd including service charge. It was romantic and relaxing as bossanova music played and with the help of the beautiful forest-like ambiance. Transportation thru bus is also available if you are willing to walk more than half a kilometer to the bus stop.

WILL: First of all, I wanna thank the DiningCity for this wonderful promotion. We booked for a dinner of 3-set meal at 1 Twenty-Six for $38. This is located at East Coast Park, you can hail a cab for no-fuzz travel.
We arrived early and there is no reason hurry up the food. We ordered each of the food in the menu and on that everything will be tasted and judged.
Pumpkin soup. It satisfy my longing of the pumpkin soup I had back way to the Philippines. Creaminess and taste of that met my expectation and cravings. Abbey had the shrimp for his appetizer.
I had this fish and abbey had a pork.i do not my order, the tuna seems do not fit with an sauces around it. Not my type. Abbey's main entree is superb, the thickness and each sauces is in a such harmonious taste specially with the cheese one.
I had the cheesecake and raspberry ice cream. The creaminess and taste of cheesecake just go along very well with the ice cream's sweetness and coldness. Love the feeling. On the other hand, Abbey's dessert is just a simple tasted bread. Nothing special.
1 Twenty-Six have a good place to do a sightseeing while having a romantic dinner. They also have a live band to soften the breeze from the ocean. Love the ambiance
