The Economist

Abbey:
The magazine that I received contains collection of featured article of  The Economist. This is their sample. It tells how advanced the cloning research and testing in the US. You can also read about the depressed area in other countries and how the world helps on their needs. As their name states, they tackle also the effects of mobile phones on their profits on fish. How can you sell your goods at a better price. With technology fast advancing, they can have potential buyers even if they are far away from each other. Hope I can read more on this mag.

WILL: It truly fed our mind. My expectation to this is just a ordinary magazine that will portray the life of others, but damn, I am all wrong.
This sample magazine that Abbey received features the negative and positive in looking deeper in biology, the imbalance rate of girls and boys in China and India, and they tackle about a discovery of disease that affects the prosperity of a country.
So informative. Currently waiting for this magazine for a fresh copy for 2011. :)

The Amazing Race Asia Season 4

ABBEY:
This race is great. Up to the last minute, there's thrill and surprises. Father and daughter, Hussein and Natasha, almost not make it when they struggled in the trapeze challenge, but notch the 3rd place. Second is the Singaporean girls. They were awesome. Two little ladies outlasted stronger than them physically. And the champion, Richard and Richard. Patience is the key and not lose your temper. They have proven that. Congratulations! Mabuhay ang Pilipino at ang Amazing Race. Can't wait for season 5.

WILL: This is the only season of Amazing Race Asia na natapos ko and I am so glad that on the fourth season, Filipino won.
Sometimes, I am thinking if I can join this show. hehe, Jokingly ask Abbey to submit our video. hehe..
So Richard and Richard, congratulations. You won and conquered your fear. You both also passed the anger management test. heheheh!

Talking Tom

ABBEY:
This is the Apple version of "tamagotchi", but you are not required to bathe, feed, and care for the pet though. Its a fun way to relax. Tickle, touch its forehead and hear it purr. By the way the first time I see this app, I was told to touch his head, but my hand was so heavy that I knocked him down. Sorry, PETA, it will not happen again. :) I think this app has different kinds of pets now, but for a fee.

WILL: Well, This was an application na nakakatuwa s iPhone, it's a hit, thats why marami na rin ang kung anu-ano like this ang meron s App Store.
This helps to send a message to Abbey. hehe.

Swensen's Ice Cream

ABBEY:
We tried Swensen's because we got a pair of 1-for-1 voucher when we pass by their shop near Cathay Cineplex. You just have to say "hello" and you can the free voucher :) Wasn't it good? I told Wilma we will use all the ticket, but as her tummy is small it can't accommodate all the sundaes. Mine was Gold Rush sundae and Wilma's was Hot Fudge which amounted for less than 8SGD. The sundaes were good. Sarap ng chocolate flavor pti yung wafer nila. We didn't hang out that long because Harry is waiting :)

WILL: What is Swensen's? A ice cream shop established by Swensen of course. hehehe. I never thought eating up their ice cream, why? because the ambiance of their stalls are bit intimadting for my wallet. hehehe.. Poor Lady.
Then here comes the time when we passed one of their stall in Orchard. A man standing there with a mic asking passers to just say "hi" to him and we will get a voucher and some goodies. At first we thought it was just a bluff but it is not. Abbey say "hi" and walah! the vouchers and some snack is on his hand. When the man saw me behind my fiance, he asked me to say "hello" for him so I can have my own pack. Ayun, we ended up having two bags of goodies and two set of Swensen's voucher.
We really planned to watch movie at Cathay Cineplex to redeem the said voucher. There is something that I can't explain that make this cold sweet cream so nice. Ending, BUSOG SA ICE CREAM. hehehe.

New World Hotel - Makati, Philippines

ABBEY:
During college, I sidelined as a light man in video coverage. And whenever we cover for a wedding in a hotel, I used to dream to stay there for a night or two. Hotel staff will treat you as  if you're the most VIP in the world :) I experience that in New World Hotel. The hotel was great. They have ongoing wedding dress fair when we came, The Runway Project, so their lobby exhibited different gowns. Our room is spacious, twin bedroom, enough for 6-8 pax. We also dipped on their pool. :) Thanks to Neth's connection, we got it half the price.

WILL: It's my birthday! And who's idea ito? It is from my friendly-friend, Neth. Usually on my birthday dahil summer, we go for a out of town to have some splurge sa mga resorts. But now, we just stayed in Makati.
This hotel was aka Renaissance, now the name is New World Hotel. From office, I went straight to the hotel. There, in their vast spaced lobby, my friends were waiting for me, as usual grand entrance na naman ako. ;p.
We have fun in our stay. A comfy room, clean pools, a free drink from our beloved Kuya V and a tipsy tipsy night with a revelation game. ahahaha!
I am so thankful as always to my true friends who is always there for me. Oooops, almost forgot I just paid half of the hotel rate(Php3200.00), why? it's one of Marineth's gift for me. hehehe.
I love to stay in hotels, just to soak in my self in a hot tub. A sweet escape for me in a stressful world of Bureau of Customs in Philippines.

Cantata

ABBEY:
Wow, Christmas cantata. I missed this when I left Philippines. The cantata reminds me that Christmas is just really around the corner. I got excited when I learned that International Baptist Church will be having this activity. I almost not able to make it due to my fault in my planning. Hahaha. I really liked the most is their rendition of O Holy Night, sent shivers to me. There's also a part of the song where the congregation also sings. Truly this is a joyous celebration for the coming of our Saviour.

WILL: As I said to my Resorts World Sentosa Singing Xmas Tree, I love choirs. It reminds me as one of the members of a Metro Manila division choir. I am used to be a Soprano 2. What I enjoyed in their list of piece is the "Glorious Day".

i Light Marina Bay 2010

ABBEY: Another project of Singapore to showcase the talents of bright minds by their arts using lights. Some exhibits requires user interaction, like the "Touch. Do not please the work of art" where people will pose before the flash snap, and their shadows will be left on the wall. :)

We also saw the origami tigers, animal tree that uses simple circuitry, Flora Magica where flowers are projected in a building, and the jellyfish.

The show was free. It spans from the Helix to the Fullerton Hotel. The event was informational and fun. You will "light" Singapore more.

WILL: This is Asia's First Sustainable Light Art Festival. Entrance? Of course, it is free. =) Enjoying the best in life.
After eating dinner at Marina Bay Sands, we walked through to the Helix Bridge, where we found a look-a-like of fishing rod na umiilaw when you turn the handle. The exhibits stretched from the said bridge up to Esplanade.
Well, dahil I am with Abbey, he is the one explaining how the exhibit works. Galing ni Engineer Lapuz magpaliwanag.. hehehe. We have fun and wish namin next event mas maraming display and we hope this can be applied na to our daily lives, para makatipid s bill ng kuryente.. hehehe!

Kuya Jobert

ABBEY:
Iba talaga si Kuya Jobert  :) I've already seen his antics in Banana Split.  Its the segment of "M3 - Melai Mo Magwork" wherein Melai gives tips to Christmas shoppers on how to protect their personal belongings from thief. Yes, Kuya Jobert plays the role of a thief.
I first saw the clip of Kuya Jobert in Facebook. He was accused of stealing "Dingdong Mixed Nuts" and other chips in their sari-sari store. He strongly denied it. But when he started to explain, nuts and chips burst out from his mouth. :))
From then on I tried to find out other videos of him. There are lots of them. I wonder what happened to his "police career" after all his raid were busted.

WILL: Wooohoooo. Talino ni Kuya Jobert sa Algebra! K - for Kristofer! ahaha.
My nephew ask me if I have time to spare kasi may papakita daw sya n series of videos. Aba ayun, lahat tumawa even his Mom sa mga kalaokohan ni Kuya Jobert.
Thank you Jobert for making us laugh and appear tayo dyan cause I saw to your facebook account na you are part of Banana Split and talagang inabangan sa TFC ha. Kulit ng kilay, pati kilay nagsasalit eh. hehehe
Kuya Jobert got a song "Langit Na Rin". Talentado Kuya.. ahaha!

Lacoste Perfume

ABBEY:
The best things in life are free. :) Opo, yun nga lang konti lang ang sample na ito. Wilma told me, way back when they give free samples, it comes in a small bottle. Now, the sample is a cloth soaked in the perfume and packed. Even though the packaging has changed, ok pa rin ang sample. Ang bango-bango ko :) Thanks LaCoste.

WILL: We want to know the scent of this perfume. So we decided to ask for a sample. Then we got it, not more than 3 weeks. :)
The smell? lalakeng lalake. hehehe. If I will buy this perfume? Maybe no. Not a distinctive to others. But thankful for the grant of sample request.

KFC Roasta Burger

ABBEY:
We had the Roasta Burger at KFC - Compass Point Mall in Sengkang. The burger came in an oven-looked box. And the burger? It's juicy, and so tasty. Parang tocinong manok na nilagay sa tinapay. The promo allows you to add 1.70SGD and trade your one side dish to fries topped with mayo and cheese. :) Ang sarap talaga. Thanks KFC.

WILL: Effective commercial, I keep on bugging Abbey to grab some KFC Roasta Burger for a snack.
So when we decided to finally have duplicate our keys for home, we headed straight to KFC at Sengkang.
He chose Roasta Burger and for me a mushroom burger combo with fries topped with melted cheese, spring onion and ketchup.
Even their burgers are finger-lickin' good. This meal was cost not more than S$10.00 with up-sized sodas.

Sentosa's First Buskers Festival

ABBEY:
Busker's festival is great and fun. Back in the Philippines, I just see busker during holiday season in malls. Now, I can have picture with them as well. They posted also the rules when you are watching the performances. Bawal ang PIKON, go with the flow. And how much it cost us? 0SGD. Yes, its free. Definitely, we had a great time :)

WILL: Back again on Sentosa Island, 3rd time.
All I can do is laugh and be amazed on all their acts. It's so good to feel inside the lightness in appreciating all the jokes of the buskers.
So nice that Sentosa set up that event. Many people swarming around, amused and grinning like a child.
To all the performers, raise the glass up. Thank you for making our weekend so light. Oh by the way, I won in spin and win. I got a Sentosa Eco-bag and a Magnet.

Leslie's Tagaytay

ABBEY:
Puno ang parking lot, which means puno ang restau.
We were attended naman agad ng staff nila. In 5 minutes or so, nakaupo na kami. Syempre we tried their specialty, bulalo.
4 kaming adult at si Janise and it only cost less than 2500. Sobrang sarap sa Leslie's. Hindi nga nagkamali yung ibang reviews na nabasa ko :)

WILL: After the mega adrenaline rush gave us by Enchanted Kingdom, John drove us up to city of Tagaytay. =) Actually dapat sa Baguio, kaso medyo late na. hehe..
Me and Baby just let Den decide where we should eat for dinner. We then turned left to one of a place called themselves as Leslie's.
Jampacked. Ang daming diners. We ordered crispy pata and steaming bulalo tapos I forgot kung ilang rice. hehe..
Sobrang lamig sa tagaytay nun kahit April and with El Nino pa nun, kaya nagsebo agad ang sabaw and we request for re-heat. Bloated, ayun, taka-out ang mga viands.
     Recommended.

Glee

Abbey: I got Glee's first season from my house mate. I became hooked since I watched the pilot episode. The series has many conflicts and issues. They also tackle issues that happens also in our society. What I like the most are their rendition of hit songs like a cappella version of Poker Face, Bruno Mars' Just the way you are and Marry You. Can't wait to watch the upcoming episodes. Am I a Gleek now?

WILL: I am not fond of watching Glee or it is not usual for me to see series like this. I am more of action and sci-fi lng tlga siguro. Well, so Abbey is hooked up by this series, to know his stories about it, I need to watch right?

My first episode when Corazon upped to meet the glee club. 2nd season na! Weekly, Abbey and I find time to watch this but the only episode na kilig na kilig sya eh nung episode na may wedding. Kasi andun yung LSS nya for now, Just the way you are.

Di ako kinilig but I am laughing my a$$ out when mother of Sue came and from there I know kanino nagmana si Sue. Aahaha! and biro mo yun, she marry herself and officiated the ceremony.

What will happen to Glee when no Sue is there to be their villain.

Resort's World Sentosa Singing Christmas Tree

Abbey:
I love Christmas Carols. When September comes, I changed my ringtone to a Christmas music. I like Christmas season. We went to Sentosa to see the Buskers' Festival. After we traded our stamps for a prize, we stroll along the Festive Walk. We saw people shopping, chatting, taking pictures. And on the center of the place was an enormous Christmas tree. We grab our chance to pose and have a snap. A stage, set of mic, lights and musical instruments were set at the foot of the tree. I knew there will be a performance. I wasn't wrong. As we were about to leave the place, we saw people, dressed in red and green choir gown, lined and marching towards the tree. We even greeted the first batch a Merry Christmas :) We took the front seats and have pictures with cute little angels. Then the carols began. I also sang with them whenever I knew the lyrics. It was a fun night. Christmas is really coming very soon :)

WILL: Okay, okay, di ako nangaroling nung bata ako, and because of my belief, I don't give importance on holidays of December. But what i really love is listening to choirs singing any song. Kahit yung kay mozart pa na Carmina Burana. Actually I love that song.. ahahaha! Kaya when I saw a line of people in costumes that going to the tree. I asked Abbey if we can stay for a while. And ayun, we enjoyed the night, even some lyrics was not familiar with me. Si Abbey ata alam lahat yung songs na yun eh.

Chicken Afritada

Here's what you need for the chicken afritada:
1. Of course, chicken. :) Wings are preferred.
2. A can of tomato sauce
3. 2 medium potatoes; diced
4. 1 medium carrot;diced
5. Minced garlic, onion, and ginger.

Saute ginger, garlic and onion. After a couple of minutes, combine them with chicken. Wait until the chicken became golden brown. Add half glass of water, also the potatoes and carrot and let it simmer. Put the tomato sauce and season to taste. I'm sure mas masarap ang luto niyo kesa sa akin :)

WILL: Abbey never fails to surprise me. Sarap nitong chicken afritada. Texture is creamy. Lalo na when this food partnered with a dip of fish sauce with mapulang siling labuyo. Huwaaaaaaw sa sarap. hehehe. How good to be home after a 12hour work kung ito ang maabutan mo :)
