BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE SHOP AND FAMOUS CAFE IN SINGAPORE - The Awfully Chocolate Bakery & Cafe

ABBEY: We visited The Awfully Chocolate Bakery and Cafe at Katong. This is their flagship store and we came for brunch. I had their Breakfast Plate that comes with bratwurst, scrambled eggs, pancetta, tomato and arugula and croissant.

The eggs are creamy and went well with the croissant and bratwurst. I washed them down with classic dark hot chocolate. While eating we keep on seeing orders of cake slices going out. We can’t help but to order their all chocolate cake with scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh cream and we weren’t wrong. The cake is decadent and delicious.

What you see is what you eat and taste. I also saw the rich chocolate flowing from the tap. Should I try that too? Haha.

WILL: Awfully Chocolate is one of the finest/high level bake shop here in Singapore. They are a local bakeshop that expertize in making chocolate cakes and other chocolate products. Recently they expanded to offer hot meals and as we want to explore Tanjong Katong site, we chopped by to their flagship store.

It’s late lunch and I ordered Eggs Benedict for SGD18. I am famished that time and because it is delicious too, I only shared one bite with Abbey. I am there because I am craving for chocolate cake and their signature cake with cream and ice cream answers my taste buds' longing of chocalate that us not too sweet and bitter!

Awfully Chocolate’s Cake is indeed one of the best gift you can give to any celebration. Totally recommended not only for locals but a line of products to be proud and shared globally!

The Secret Patio's Mad Hatter's Tea Party

ABBEY: An “Have I gone Mad”-themed pop-up was setup at The Secret Patio @ Duxton. It was their take at Alice in Wonderland. For SGD 39.9 per person (minimum of 2) you’ll be able to reserve a table. You will be greeted by the smell of croissants and you can see playing cards, flowers, butterflies, colorful cups and checkerboard-covered tables in mats; just like in the Madhatter’s tea party. We got savoury croissants (triple cheese with chicken ham and mushroom) as well the sweet ones (almond and hazelnut cruffin). Along with that we got tea and cold dark chocolate drinks. I thought all the food were included in the reservation payment but it is not. The drinks have to be paid separately.

WILL: I am fond of Alice in Wonderland. Yep! It is one of the fantasy to experience the Mad Hatter’s Tea Time. I thought I may tick that off on my list when Abbey and I visited The Secret Patio, well it wasn’t.

The area was filled by white and red flowers to make it feels like you are in a garden (of course), a pallet covered with black and white to be our table, and butterflies. There’s a feeling of something missing in food presentation. Maybe the teapot or a cake stand. Not sure but there’s a lack of vibe in the place.

Luckily, I have enjoyed the taste of their pastry specialy the mushroom croissant. I enjoyed the Nymph of the Nile tea too. Maybe I expected too much when my husband paid for $39.90 each (drinks not included). As what some says, charge it to experience. Hehe.

Yardbird Singapore's MUST TRY SUNNY MORNING BREAKFAST SET | Marina Bay Sands Singapore Restaurant

ABBEY: Wilma was enticed of Yardbird’s waffles so we went there for a brunch and ordered a pair of Sunny Morning. Each set (36SGD) comes with freshly-squeezed juice, coffee or tea and one entrée. The juices are great: Green Giant (cucumber, celery, kale and honey) and Carotine Kicker (apple, orange, sweet potato and maple syrup). I preferred the former.

For the main I had Crispy chicken and egg biscuit sandwich. The serving is quite small but packs flavor. The melted cheese covered the succulent crispy chicken and really goes well with the biscuit.

Next time I’ll try the Chicken N Waffles N Watermelon.

WILL: Our siblings send us money to splurge on foods. So, this is the right time to spend without guilt. And one of our target restaurants way back 2019 is Yardbird located in The Shoppes of Marina Bay Sands. My goal is to taste test their famous waffles and the best time to eat those is on morning, so we booked a table and arrived around 1030am.

They have a $36 Sunny Morning Set and I chose to have Green Giant Juice, Salted Caramel Waffle and Hot Tea. The juice is impressive! Celery is not overwhelming amd the cucumber is refreshing! And that is my best waffle that I ever had. Not airy but packed and crispy! There is a tendecy that may get dry if you’re a slow eater like me. Haha! Just ask for syrup. Ok? The tea do not taste like burnt leaves.

Will be back? Yes of course! Next time will check the other food options like for dinner or lunch.

Value Deal Lunch Set of La Pizzeria at The Bridge & Beacon Bar | Authentic Italian Fire-Baked Pizzas

ABBEY: Achieving a milestone means a celebration! We’re very proud of Chat’s achievement. That’s why we booked a lunch date at La Pizerria at Bridge and Beacon Bar (Republic of Singapore Yacht Club).

For 32SGD each, we got a two-course meal. For starter I chose bruschetta. Oh my, they went all out with the tomatoes and basil. Aside from that we also had a complimentary bread basket which we dipped in balsamic vinegar and olive oil. My choice of main is chicken cordon bleu. It came with salad and fries.

Even though there is shortage of chicken supply, mine didn’t disappoint. It was a huge, moist chicken breast filled with ham and cheese. I enjoyed every bite. The ambiance is relaxing. You can see the marina view as well as their open-kitchen concept. Worth the long travel!

WILL: Nowadays people are always on the look for a new place not only to dine but also a place that is unusual. A place that is secluded from the buzz of a mall and quiet-peaceful place to have a catch-up. Glad that Republic of Singapore Yacht Club housed La Pizzeria. They are located at second floor and overlooking the parked yachts and calmed sea.

This kind of restaurant is pretty expensive if you are in tight budget. BUT don’t fret, they are offering a lunch deal that is really value for money! For $32, we got their free bread that is perfectly warm for balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip, bruschetta filled with cherry tomatoes and gnocchi that became sticky because of it overwhelming mozzarella cheese.

I totally recommend this place if you will be around West Cost Park. Or you can catch their free shuttle bus from Clementi Mall.

Largest Outdoor Eat All You Can Seafood with Charcoal BBQ - The Three Peacocks Review

ABBEY: We booked with Three Peacocks not once, not twice but three times. The first two were canceled due to various reasons but we will not let the third one pass us by. Technically this is the fourth as the original schedule was on a Saturday but moved to Sunday.

There’s a free shuttle service to and from Labrador Park MRT but we chose to walk going to the restaurant. Upon entrance you’ll be paying for the buffet which cost almost 150SGD for two persons. Don’t fret. You’ll get half a lobster, clams, shrimps, beef, pork, and chicken. Have them sizzle in charcoal grill and cooked to your preference.

They also have maki, calamari, takoyaki, and deep fried prawn. Additionally, you can also get pizza, tacos, burger and salmon and squid teppanyaki. I indulged in the grilled beef. It has great marbling, tender and milky taste.

The pork and beef skewers are also a great choice and give you easier to grill. I finished with two servings of chocolate popsicles which creamy and very chocolatey. Definitely my cravings for charcoal grill is satisfied.

Largest Outdoor Eat All You Can Seafood with Charcoal BBQ - The Three Peacocks Review

WILL: Abbey… whew… Abbey is missing barbecued food on CHARCOAL! He is missing the “char” and gladly to say that The Three Peacocks offers this kind of bbq.

What are the hits not to be missed in this buffet? Of course the seafoods! A buffet will give you one time half lobster topped sauce of your choice, blue leg prawn, crab and the pretty perfect marbled beef steak. They also fried foods like takoyaki, fries, and solf shell crab. Pizza, teppanyaki and tacos is served too.

What are the cons? Hot surroundings(of course) and be careful if you have a weak lungs, you’ll be inhaling smokes. Haha.

This restaurant is beside the Labrador Park and they offer a free shuttle ride from Labrador MRT station. The Three Peacocks is recommended to try but I will not be your usual patron.

Best and Luxurious Steak in Singapore | Wolfgang's Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener - $300++ Lunch

ABBEY: A celebration calls for Wilma’s Natal Day as well as for our wedding anniversary. This time we got a table at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse. Yes, splurge and make memories.

We grabbed the opportunity to taste the 5-course Wolfgang Experience. For appetizers we got tuna tartare, lobster salad and shrimp cocktail while dessert is a key lime pie. And for the main course we opted for lamb chops. Aside from that we requested for a serving of rib eye steak and a port wine.

Timing is everything. While waiting for the entrees we were busy trying to finish the soup, and starters. The mains didn’t disappoint. They are tender, cooked to perfection and delicious. Each bite is indulgence. The key lime pie gave a refreshing taste to our pallet. It is tangy, sweet and sour. Perfect for my wine. Can I have another steak please?

WILL: Sometimes, there’s a craving that won’t be satisfied by a buffet. That is the right time to look for a specialty restaurant. In this case, we went to Wolfgang Steakhouse for a delectable steak fix. Wolfgang is one of the best rated steakhouse not only here in Singapore but based on Google search can say around the globe.

Restaurant is located at Intercontinental’s 3rd Floor. The ambiance is not that serene but the tables are pretty far that you can’t hear the other diners. The service is superb! It seems that the Wolfgang folks known you for years! Wolfgang totally meet my expectations for a fine dine restaurant.

I prefered The Wolfgang Experience. It is only available for lunch on a weekdays and it is comprised of appetizer, soup or salad, entrée with 2 sides and dessert. Appetizer alone will make your tummy full! Gladly, just ordered one of this lunch set. My entrée of choice was Australian Lamb Chops (SGD128), the meat is soft and the milky smell of the lamb is so inviting! drool.

I booked this lunch date and little did I know that Wolfgang and my husband talked and suprised me with a slice of birthday cake. Gosh! So touching!

Wolfgang Steakhouse is really recommended for you to try and to have a visit if you are longing for a quality steak.

WOK°15 Kitchen - Cantonese Restaurant | Cheapest Dim Sum Buffet With A View of Private Yachts in Sentosa Island Singapore

ABBEY: We were looking for another place for dimsum buffet and fortunately we saw a sign of WOK°15 when we were at Sentosa. WOK°15 it is.

We had lunch there and for starters we had chee cheong fun and steamed pork dumplings. Next we got their signature dish; live tiger prawns. We also ordered siew mai, prawn dumplings (ha kau), barbecue pork buns, roasted pork, crispy prawn beancurd rolls with mayo and fried rice. We won’t miss to get sweet and sour pork, fried fish skin with salted egg yolk and custard lava buns. This is the first time we were out of time to finish the food we had in our plates. Only small portion left. That’s how good the food is.

Prepare to get stuffed if you visit this place.

WOK°15 Kitchen - Cantonese Restaurant | Cheapest Dim Sum Buffet With A View of Private Yachts in Sentosa Island Singapore

WILL: I am eyeing for restaurants that is not located in malls…restaurants with a view. Well, you know, Singapore is not that small as you think. Singapore has a lot to offer! So I found WOK°15 with an amazing view of parked yachts. And because it is my turn to crave for something, WOK°15  is perfect for a dimsum fix.

We booked their All You Can Eat Dim Sum Buffet. It cost SGD38++. They have 2 pages of dimsum you can choose from and this is the first time that we asked a manager to extend our time because we can’t finish the food. Haha! You may think that we didn’t calculated what we ordered right? Wrong! Haha! On our first order, they only gave us 2 dim sum per bamboo steamer when we literally put 2 on the blank square. So we thought that it was per piece. On our following order slip, I wrote 4 pcs each of my desired dimsum and yeah, it came more than 4 of each. So please don’t judge for gluttony!

The meal that I totally recommend is their Ha Kau, Deep Fried Fish Skin with Salted Egg Yolk and Braised Spare Ribs. I will come back for moreeeee! Totally recommended!

% Arabica Singapore - Famous Japanese Cafe

ABBEY: This is one of the minimalistic cafe I’ve been to. The matte white and brown colors along with warm lightings invite you to come and sit in a quite and calm cafe. I like their coffee as it is smooth and not so bitter aftertaste. No need to add sugar to get the natural sweetness from the beans that complements with the milk.

A bit pricey though but worth. I need to visit their branch at Holland Village (seems it huge and have more space).

% Arabica Singapore - Famous Japanese Cafe

WILL: Okay, I am guilty for delaying this review because I don’t want people swarming in to this cafe (feeling famous blogger? Haha!). How long was the delay to blog the Arabica? Only more than a year. Sorry!

% Arabica is well known in Japan, thus you may see the simplicity of each cafes. White and brown color somewhat touch a “home” ambiance to each diner. What I always order in %Arabica is Spanish Latte which is not available in most of cafes. It is sweeter, smoother and aromatic than usual cafe latte.

Singapore only have 4 outlets of % Arabica and the branch at Jewel Changi is my favourite so far. Not too crowdy and can do people watching hehe. Definitely not an alternative cafe!

Roti Mum - Best Coffee Bun In Singapore

ABBEY: It was highly anticipated when Roti Mum made its comeback to Singapore. Queues will be long definitely. We went there two to three weeks after opening and behold no queue at early afternoon (Wisma Atria).

We got coffee bun, chocolate bun as well as salted egg bun. The outside is somehow crispy giving its shape and the inside is soft and chewy. You can really taste the distinct flavors. I’ll stick to the original coffee bun.

WILL: It flashes back memories! Haha! Abbey and I had our first Roti Mum way, way back 2009 and it is in Philippines. That is my first and last dose.

Now, Roti Mum is back in Singapore and instantly got hooked with it. Indeed it is way better than the other dull coffee buns. It is creamier, fluffier and of course packed with coffee flavour. We always have a set of 6 and now they are offering different flavours like pandan, chocolate and butter.

Drop by in their Wisma Atria Orchard!

Humble Bakery's Scones

ABBEY: What do you do if your wife tells you everyday for a week that she wants scones?

Well, try to look for one. And make sure it taste good.
I happened to stumble upon Humble Bakery. The catch is you need to place your order before 12 noon to get your pastries the next day. I didn’t waste time to put my box of scones in the queue. I’m happy about the presentation; they have a note saying to enjoy it and it is my box of happiness. Little did they know that it was my wife they made happy. The scones are not too dense. Perfect for tea or coffee.I like the original one and strawberry cream cheese.

Less than SGD 23.90 for six cones. Grab yours!

Humble Bakery's Scones
Humble Bakery's Scones

WILL: As what my husband always tell to people, Wilma will always opt to have bread than rice. Haha! Well, pastries are considered bread? Right? And scones is not exempted from my cravings. But the problem is, not all bakeries/cafes are offering scones luckily Abbey found Humble Bakery.

I waited for days for us to receive an email from Humble Bakery. They do not accept walk-ins (huhu). But the wait is really worth it. The scones are not dry, not too crumbly and very flavourful. I do not need butter for this nor jams. Worth the travel. Hehe.

And the owners are so sweet! They put a written note on our order. Hope their business grow and please still give us a written note.

One Prawn and Co Noodle - MacPherson

ABBEY: We were looking for prawn noodles and we saw a post about One Prawn and Co. Next thing we know we’re already on a queue on their shop. We were told it’s a 45-minute wait by the time we arrived but we got our table a little more than 30 minutes. The server even proudly asked if it’s earlier than she estimated. Haha.

We had Lala and Small Prawns as well as Braised Pork Ribs and Small Prawns. Good things come for those who wait. The soup is delicious, full of flavours but not thick. You can taste the distinction between the pork and seashells. The spicy sauce is not too hot and is also sweet. We also had prawn beansprout cake and liver roll.

One Prawn and Co Noodle - MacPherson
One Prawn and Co Noodle - MacPherson

WILL: Our go to pork and prawn noodle house suddenly serves slimy prawns. We really do avoid those because it might trigger Abbey’s seafood allergies. So when we saw a post about One Prawn & Co, we didn’t hesitate and immediately look what bus should we ride to get there.

It is located at MacPherson Road and it is just a bus ride from our place. We were suprised to see a long queue but they assured us that it won’t last for more than an hour. So carry on! Haha!

Be informed that they are serving a separate bowl for the noodles and a claypot for their soups and meat/seafood. I ordered Lala and small prawn for some iodine fix. Taste is awesome! You will see some remnants of prawn coloring in its soup and lala were abundant in my claypot. Yum. The separate bowl also has a meager amount of soup that soaked the Kway Teow.

Well recommended. Surely on our list where to eat for our tourist friends.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Singapore - Weekdays Breakfast Set

ABBEY: Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf offers breakfast sets. And the good thing is they opened a branch near our place. One set costs 8.90 SGD but pay for 10.90 SGD and you get a pair.

The sandwiches are of different types but what we like the most is the 9-grain egg mayo. It is soft and fluffy; perfect for the egg mayo filling. The set comes with 8 oz oat milk latte and we asked them to make it extra hot. A good way to start a day!

WILL: The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is making wave on breakfast scene here in Singapore. $5 is a significant price for most of the food chains and CBTL is embracing it. Almost monthly since last year they came up with different pairings of their lattes and sandwiches.

Of all the pairings, my favourite is 9-Grains Toast and Spanish Latte. 9-Grains is definitely a good choice not only for our health but also for our tastebuds. Hehe. It is gooey amd crunchy. Then wash it down with Spanish Latte! Ohh! My morning is totally charged up!

Two sets will cost you $10.90 so don’t forget to treat your buddies a good meal for a very reasonable price!

Reimondo Seafood Congee - Pasir Ris Hawker Centre

ABBEY: We went to Pasir Ris Central Hawker Center to taste a bowl of Reimondo Seafood Congee. And it didn’t disappoint. For 6.90 SGD you can have a large serving of congee with scallop, prawn and seafood. It is full of flavor and gives you that homey feel for every scoop. A comfort food indeed. The story behind the stall is also an inspiration. Hard things in life come by but you have to persevere to get through it.

Reimondo Seafood Congee - Pasir Ris Hawker Centre

WILL: Pasir Ris residents are so lucky to have Reimondo Seafood Congee. They are located in the 2nd floor of Pasir Ris Hawker Centre. Why lucky? We still need to travel to have this unusual porridge. You know…the typical congee is using pork. Seafood Congee should branch out hehe.

The taste is of course delicious. The rice is boiled enough that you can hardly distinguish the rice grains and you will taste that the rice is not only boiled in water. It is definitely boiled with seafood! The seafood congee consist of prawn, smoked salmon and scallops. Well, I do not mind paying extra $2 for a congee to eat this tasty congee.

Well recommended and wiling to travel 1hour by bus to Pasir Ris. Haha.

First Street Teochew Fish Soup - First Branch in Kovan

ABBEY: Another food gem that we found is First Street Teochew Fish Soup. It opens from 8:15AM to 3PM only. Always expect a queue. And for a food stall to have a queue, you know that their items are good. You can choose between rice or noodles for your soup. Their serving of mixed seafood soup is large, delicious and flavorful. They also have batang, pomfret, and snakehead.

WILL: It is always raining nowadays and all we need is a good warm soup that will comfort us on a cold lunchtime. Luckily we are near to one of the most well-known fish soup in Kovan, that is First Street Teochew Fish Soup. Breakfast or lunchtime, be ready to queue for a minimum of 30mins.

So what is the taste? Of course it is delicious! You will know that the fish was boiled for hours that causes their soup’s saltiness were naturally from the fish. They offer different kinds of fish here but I always love to have Mackerel Fish Soup with a cup of rice! Each soup feels like a comfort from a warm a blanket in cold days. Hehe.

Max's All About Chicken Singapore - Your Philippine Inasal Now in Singapore

ABBEY: I lost count of how many times we went to All About Chicken Lucky Plaza. They have so many choices for chicken flavours. But what I like the most is the Inasal as well as the original fried chicken. The marinade permeated to the meat; the smokiness and char from the grill is there. Dip it in spicy soy sauce with calamansi and get a spoonful of rice with chicken oil and you are in for a treat. With fried chicken it is crispy and juicy. The fries that comes with it can be replaced by rice.

Maybe I’ll try chicken teriyaki next time.

Max's All About Chicken Singapore - Your Philippine Inasal Now in Singapore

WILL: I have found my new favourite fried and grill chicken place! All About Chicken located in Lucky Plaza Basement 1. Yes! This shop is all about chicken rice and they have 8 kinds of flavours. What is the best? They are Chicken Inasal and American Classic Fried Chicken.

Chicken Inasal is famous from the province of Bacolod Philippines. This grilled chicken was marinated with coconut vinegar. Then splash a spoonful of soy sauce, chili oil and kalamansi on your steamy rice! Ohhh. Delicious! Buttery gravy contributes well with the juiciness of American Classic Fried Chicken.

Whenever I went here, I honestly can eat 2 cups of rice. Haha! Definitely worth it. Oh hey! You can order their chicken by buckets.

Paper Rice - Vietnamese Kitchen | Featuring Mekong Specialities

ABBEY: Want some Vietnamese cuisine? Visit Paper Rice. We went at their outlets at Changi City Point and Plaza Singapura. I ordered Grilled Chicken Chop Rice with Egg Meatloaf as well as Pork Bahn Mi. You can really taste the smokiness and char on each bite.

The tanginess and saltiness of the dipping sauce will give a burst of flavour. I also tried hot egg coffee which was delivered by a friendly robot. It is creamy and the caffeine kick is strong.

Paper Rice - Vietnamese Kitchen | Featuring Mekong Specialities - Pork Noodle Soup

WILL: We headed for dinner at Paper Rice Vietnamese Kitchen after Abbey’s meetup with colleagues at Changi City Point.

Once you get seated, you will feel at home. Like a visitor to ones home waiting for one of the parents to greet you. Hehe. That’s the vibes in their restaurant. Why? The furniture reminds me of my grandmother’s house in Malabon City. It is antique and colorful. Home that is clean and full of happiness.

Okay let’s go for the food review. The food serving is huge. As in really huge. You may not feel the authenticity of Vietnamese cuisine here because it seems fusioned with modern era. Haha. Like their Deep Fried Vegetarian Spring Roll. It was not wrapped into an ordinary spring roll wrapper or white paper rice. Then my Pork Noodle Soup didn’t possessed a strong coriander scent. Maybe a plus for some but a quite a downside for me. Because I love coriander hehe.

Will surely be back for their hot egg milk coffee and hot refreshing tea.

Overrice - The HALAL GUYS version of SINGAPORE

ABBEY: The Overrice offers meals over rice. Whoah! You don’t say. Hahaha. I had their pulled beef signature bowl. It came with pita, shredded lettuce, and basmati rice. Each bowl can be drizzled by their secret white sauce and you can dab the fiery red sauce. And when I say dab, try it little by little. It is hot. Takes sometime to get used to it. Overall the Overrice beef bowl taste good. The ingredients and sauces really complement each other. They also have their version of Magnolia Banana pudding.

WILL: We got curious with New Yorks Halal Guys’ Iconic White Sauce and Impressive Hot Sauce when we stumbled on one of their interviews in YouTube. That curiosity grew to a question where we can get hold of that chili sauce in Singapore?

Abbey found a place that declares to be Singapore’s version of Halal Guys by its patron. Overrice. Overrice is located at Arab Street and perfect place to dine after our pedicure session at The Nail Social.

Their place have this “easy-going-young” vibe and the people behind the counter is pretty warm and accommodating. I ordered Falafel Signature Bowl ($12.40). The falafel is not dry and not crumbly. Their basmati rice complements well with their creamy white sauce and a dab of spiciest chili I ever had here in Singapore. (That was the first time that I didn’t ate all the chili served to me… haha)

Anyways, we were so happy on what we have tasted and decided that Overrice will be our dinner on 24th December! We will surely come back for more on our next visit in Bugis area.

Koma Singapore | Modern Japanese Restaurant at Marina Bay Singapore

ABBEY: Yey! We got a reservation at Koma. The booking have a long list. You need to reserve your table two months ahead. We went there on Christmas Day. Entering the restaurant and walking to your table will transport you a place in Japan. There are tori gates as well as large bell. You will not remember you’re inside a mall. The ambiance got a homey and quiet feel.

We tried their California maki and I got barbecued beef short ribs for main. The beef is tender and the sauce is not that sweet. Perfect to be folded inside lettuce.

Recommended to be tried but I’m not that much of a fan.

WILL: Booking Koma is pretty tedious task for me. I ended up to be on a waiting list… TWICE! Huhu! I marked my calendar and on the first hour they opened the reservation for 25th December, I straight away get the 1130am lunch.

When we saw the their festive menu, without second thoughts we chose to have an ala carte meal instead. I ordered, Spicy Tofu Hot Pot.

I am a sucker for spicy food last December. Well, blame it to my hormones. Haha. Taste? Not bad but quite more than okay. It supplied a dose of spice for my day! Haha! It actually can serve for 2pax. California Maki is just normal but their wasabi is outstanding.

Beside the food, people are queuing for Koma at MBS to somewhat feel the ambiance of Japan. Guests will be welcomed by orange arches, a reminiscent of the Fushimi Inari Shrine. The huge dining room complements the 2.5m tall “FACE Japanese bell", which presides above a traditional Japanese foot bridge.

Well who can beat that? Haha.

Melt Café Dinner Crustacean and BBQ Buffet at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore FREE S$98++ BUFFET Review

ABBEY: We have our plans laid out for my natal day. But Melt Cafe (Mandarin Oriental) sent me a mail with greetings and a gift; 1 for 1 dining for lunch or dinner. So I said let’s go. Good decision! It’s raining lobsters there. A seafood platter (lobster, prawns, mussels) will be served upon your sitting. That’s just the beginning. Move over allergies. I even ordered a plate of lobsters only and make my own lobster roll with fried mantou, butter and garlic. Hahaha.
I went multiple times to the grill station for beef, scallops and oysters to satisfy my char cravings. Then I moved to the hot foods like chicken and vegatable tandoori with basmati rice and braised pork. For dessert, I love the combination of vanilla and chocolate ice creams; and also a plateful of watermelon. I brought home my complimentary birthday cake. There’s no room for it. Haha.

WILL: Abbey was blessed by The Dining Society on his birthday month. He teceived an email that he get a FREE buffet of his choice (lunch or dinner) at Melt Cafe located at Mandarin Oriental Singapore.

We already had a dinner buffet at Melt Cafe but the difference for this is that now it is a crustaceans like lobsters are free flow + there’s a barbecue just outside the cafe. Of course I enjoyed the meal than before. You can definitely know that lobster and other seafoods are fresh because it doesn’t leave any unappetizing taste in your mouth. Because of COVID-19 there are people behind the counters to hand you the food. They are very attentive and surprisingly quite cheerful in giving your plate of food. It is a happy and tummy-filling day not only for the birthday boy but also for me. Hehe.

Thanks Melt Cafe and The Dining Society for making my husband’s birthday extraordinary!
