Saint Marc Cafe Singapore

ABBEY: After a loaded snack at Carl's Jr., Chat invited us to have some coffee. We've been to Vivo City multiple times but this is the first time we set our feet on St. Marc Cafe. They offer Japanese tea, desserts and coffee.

I picked choco banana split. It took more than a couple of minutes for my order but when my coaster lighted up and I saw my frozen delight, it was worth the wait. With my long-handled teaspoon, I scooped the vanilla ice cream and the taste is delicious. Not too sweet...very creamy and smooth. It costs 9sgd which is reasonable with all the presentation and great taste.

Next dine in, I'll their other creations.

WILL: After our usual dinner/snack at our "official tambayan" with Chat, she told us that she want to have a coffee and its her treat!! Yehhheyy! For us, I told her to try the new St. Marc Cafe and she agreed. Hmmm, do you have this kind of friend? None? Well, pray for one. Haha!

Make way to St. Marc Cafe's hot chocolate...creamy and so chocolatey. This is a great place to catch up with your friends. Cozy, quite place. Oh for people like Abbey who love sweets, they are offering ice creams here.

Costa Coffee Singapore - Metropolis Branch

ABBEY: What gives you a good night sleep after a night's shift? Breakfast!

Costa Coffee recently open up their branch Metropolis (near Buona Vista MRT). I got their roast beef sandwich and one of their holiday specialty. We went there and had a free sandwich and drink.

The branch is bigger than what they have in Vivo City. The staff received us warmly and even posed for the pic for our blog :)

Thanks Costa Coffee.

WILL: The first branch I and Abbey visited was Costa Coffee's VivoCity branch. Well, this London-orgin cafe is all-over the island competing diligently with American coffee shops.

Abbey and I are the lucky ones who was given a invite for the opening of their 2 branches. We are too near at Metropolis so we decided to take our hot breakfast in there.

As we are eyeing to go inside, an all-smile staffs were already welcoming us. We asked what are their recommendations for us and they me to get their Hot Choco Mint, I am pretty hesitant since my stomach get really upset everytime I drink choco but I chose to go with the staff's suggestion. I love wrap, the I ordered one.

The hot choco is good, warms my tummy gently and didn't created a war against my stomach. Excellent! The chicken wrap tastes so nice, really nice.

Thanks Costa Coffee for the wonderful breakfast and for having a branch few steps at our home. Oh, before I forgot, this branch has a comfy feeling, hope the VivoCity will follow the ambiance. They do deliver also, please click here for their menu

Gloria Jean's Coffees Singapore - Chicken Curry Potato & Sardine Puff by Tip Top

ABBEY: I have tasted curry puffs from different shops but Gloria Jeans' somehow caught my tastebuds. For 1.30 a piece you can taste more curry flavor and filling. I'm actually so full during that day but with the puff's good taste, I ate all four Wilma gave me :)

She also bought sardine puffs which are also delicious. Try it and you'll get to know what I'm saying.

WILL: Abbey is a great fan of curry puffs. Everytime I asked him what food he wants for me to carry home, he will always answer me back "curry puff baby". So I aways buy some of it either from Old Chang Kee or from Polar.

Past week Gloria Jeans Coffee here in Anson Road launched a local treat.. Chicken Potato Curry Puff and Sardines Puff. I bought the curry, buy 5 get 1 free. I ate one, our housemate took one and the remaining ate by Abbey. Gluttony it is!!!

Costs $1.30. Curry Puff is better than the other stores but Tip Top Sardines Puff  is the best!

Breko Cafe - Holland Village - Singapore

ABBEY: Vincent wanted to have dinner at Holland Village. Since its only a couple of stops away from our home, we said yes. We were looking for a place to dine and we found Breko Cafe. They serve Western cuisine like steak, burgers, and pasta.

At less than 15sgd, I had a big crispy chicken bacon burger and a handful of fries on a large plate. They were delicious and satisfied my hunger. Make sure to order early and follow it up as it will take time to be served but worth the wait.

The place is jam-packed every night.

WILLYou can find Breko Cafe at two places, 38 Lorong Mambong & 229 Victoria Street Bugis Village, and we dined at their Holland Village branch!
Have you been at Holland V? Well this is one of the famous Makan place here in Singapore. At the right hand side of this place, you will find a lane of bars and cafe, and Breko is among them.
The place was jampacked but we only waited for only minutes for our turn. The place have a layback feeling, a very good attitude for a Friday night. I ordered Chargrilled Salmon, Abbey asked for Crispy Chicken Bacon Burger and Vince had Ribeye Steak. The serving is too big for me and the taste is like you are eating it in a five star hotel.
Thanks for the recommendation Vince, looking forward for more pigging-out.

Dôme Cafés Singapore

ABBEY: When we got our vouchers for Dome Cafe we decided to visit their branch at Dempsey Hill. I tried their seared fish fillet; and it comes with fries and green salad.

I also had mocha. The taste is delicious and texture is very fine. It is served on a fancy mug. Dome Cafe also pasta (starts at less than 15sgd) and sandwiches at less 10sgd.

WILL: First of all, thank you Citibank credit cards for this vouchers.
I got a breakfast when Abbey is from night shift, a very yummy sandwich and tea from Dome Cafe. Then when I got the chance to choose for Citibank vouchers, I intentionally chose to have a $20 voucher on this cafe and I want to invade their branch at Dempsey Hill(I am really curious on this place). One stone, two hits.
After our remittance in Lucky Plaza, we hit bus 123 after 20mins we are at the Dome Cafe. I really asked Abbey to allow me to drink a coffee. Its been 6months since my last cup of it. Abbey agreed then I savor to their cappuccino($4.60). I enjoy the every sip I had done. Haha.
Since it was Saturday, I just ate the free lunch from our office, so I only asked to order one seared fish fillet to share. The fillet fish is so soft and their tartar sauce and mango dip made a difference to others.
You may like to visit their Dempsey Hill branch, another way to spend a weekend.

The Mind Cafe (Singapore)

ABBEY: Going to this cafe is long overdue. We planned to go here when Kuya Ric went for a visit but didn't have the time. After dinner at Curry House we stopped by the place.

9sgd per person includes free-flow of drinks of the day and 2 hours of playing any game available. We got the old-but-good Connect 4. Form 4 chips horizontally, vertically or diagonally and you win the game. I won both games with Chat and Wilma. Next they tried Battleship but haven't finished the game as they had a hard time destroy each other's ships. We wanted to play quick games so we can play as many times as we can. That didn't happen.
We played Monopoly:Superman Returns edition. Though its a long game we totally had fun specially if you are winning. Isn't that right, Wilma and Chat?

The cafe also offers cocktail snacks to munch in.  Singapore Book of records awards this as the cafe to have the most number of board game. This is good experience.

WILL: I am searching for a great place to fill in some caffeine craving while my oldest brother was here and then I saw Mind Cafe. It was on my list but the schedule really stopped as to go in here.
Chat treated us for a dinner, she got her bonus! Haha! She shared her blessings to us. After dinner, damn I am full and I want to help my stomach to digest it, I need tea. ;)
I don't want to go to any cafes in 313 Somerset, then my brain made me realized to go to The Mind Cafe.
From Orchard, it is only 3 stops for bus #65. After 12 minutes, we were stepping our way up to this cafe. Actually, now I am not after for a hot drink that will help my tummy to digest my food, I am here to enjoy and play all the boardgames I can.
As we entered, we were welcomed warmly by their staff and  huge stacks of boardgames. Like a child, I grinned. So many games to play for only 2 hours. I played and all the games I lost. Haha! Lucky we don't bet for anything. Luck is not at my side at that day.
For two hours, we indulged on their unlimited cold drinks and play-all-you-can boardgames for only $9.00 per pax. This is just beside SOTA, a great location for students to let the stress away. This is a great idea of a unique cafe.

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar

ABBEY: We didn't got a chance to visit Max Brenner's branch in Trinoma. Last time we checked in Vivo they're already close for the day. Good thing that when we were searching for a cafe after our meal at Malaysian Food Street, it was open.

I got to try their Milk Chocolate. It taste like swiss miss but with richer in flavor and creamier. The hot beverage comes in a odd-shaped cup that I don't know how to drink from it. JP got a milkshake which is served in a unique tall glass. Prices of which starts from 6.90SGD. Aside from chocolate concoctions they also have waffles and ice creams.

WILL: After filling up our stomach in Malaysian Street Food at Resorts World Sentosa and after walking around on that Island, we headed back to VivoCity Mall.

Of course, before going back, we must have some drink to seat in. Unlike we planned to go for a coffee, I asked Abbey to taste the Max Brenner's chocolate drinks.

Their branch at VivoCity is a nice place to ask a lady for a date. Lights is in a romantic mood and the place is serene unlike the coffee shops always packed with people.

My tummy is so full that even a cup of hot drink will not be accepted by digestive system to go in. Haha.. Impacho! Abbey ordered a milk chocolate that was served in a hug mug. That mug has no handle and will make to use both of your hands to drink from it. Curious about the mug and how Abbey describes the drink, I wrapped around my hands to that hug mug, feel the hotness of chocolate drink through that ceramic thingy then I sipped, then sipped, and sipped again. Shocks! My brain commanded my tummy to give way for this hot drink! I love this drink, its like I am drinking my favorite chocolate... Cadbury!

Breeks Cafe

ABBEY:
We went to this diner after Singapore Airshow. The branch that we visited is on Changi Airport Terminal 2. They were offering 1 for 1 for pizza and pasta. Our bill is less than 20sgd.
I got beef pasta while Wilma had vegan. The taste is good. And they have a nice place. I hope they can replace a more comfortable chair as the ones they have now is very low for their tables.

WILL: After the sun kissed us on Singapore Airshow, we headed at Breeks Changi Terminal 2 Branch. Why Breeks? they have this one for one promotion of pasta and steak. We just love deals! Haha!
Now, I orders the spicy pesto pasta, they have a big serving that can be shared by two.
My pasta is very nice that, herb and spice mixed in one. Love it. Billed us not more than 15$ for to big serving of Pasta.. :)
