St. Marc Cafe Singapore - Chococro

ABBEY: This is another variation of "crodo" which started filling up the tummies in Singapore. While crodos/cronuts is circular, chococro adopted the croissant shape.

The baked good has less butter but has the same creamy chocolate filling. The nuts on top of it makes it more crunchy and munchy on every bite. St. Marc cafe sells it 5-for-10sgd as promotion.

WILL: Hail to who ever discovered the magnificent croissant putting together with donuts. Cronuts hit the shores of Singapore big since last year and the craze until now never mellows eventhough its too pricey.

St. Marc Cafe's Chococro make a new name on crodos industry here in state city. It is their main product. And when they open up their second store at Raffles City they offered that famous product for $10 per box of 6.

So what is the difference to their competitors? I think this is better. The chocolate inside is more creamy and it was topped with nuts which gave a distinct flavor to the others.

Go grab some of this when you are at VivoCity or Raffles. Try and for sure you will come back for more.

Indian Curry House - Delivery by Foodpanda Singapore

ABBEY: What if you're craving for food but don't know which one is it? Try Food Panda (foodpanda.sg). They will list cuisines/restaurants available in Singapore and from there you can narrow down your search.

We've tried its services and we took order on Indian Curry House. We got chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and naan (plain, garlic, and kheema). They told us that our food will be delivered by 12:30pm but they were 30 minutes early. The food is hot and "hot". It got me sweating as I munch on naan with chicken tikka. But it doesn't stop me in getting a plate of rice and indulge on the spiciness of the food.

Food Panda is recommendable if you want to have variety of choices. Order on their website or thru their phone app.

WILL:  When we received an email from Foodpanda Singapore, I was so surprised, excited and kind of worried for this is our first sponsored review. I asked my husband, what if I do not like the taste? What if the delivery service fails my expectation? So many what ifs and then 10th of April, without any alert given to Foodpanda, we ordered lunch at Indian Curry House.

930am I woke up and checkout foodpanda website. The restaurants were still close, and the fascinating fact is we can pre-order and choose what time we want for them to deliver the food. I put 1130am just in time for our lunch. We received an email for confirmation and a call that they will be late for an hour, we are willing to wait. Our cravings for Indian Cuisine is really kicking in.

12pm the food arrived, earlier than we expected. After a prayer and some shots, we ate like a caveman. Haha! I love their Garlic Naan dipped in to Chicken Tikka Masala sauce. Its a perfect tandem. The samosa stands-out for its sour after taste.

Going back to FoodPanda service, they have all types of cuisines in a one roof. So you do not need to jump in and off in any other websites just to look for what your tastebuds longing for. In payment, they have 3 options for you.. Pay by cash, paypal and credit card. Nice, isn't it? You can save more by using some of their vouchers(see photo above).

In just a few computer mouse clicks, food will be at your front door.

Singapore Civil Defence Force - Alexandra Fire Station Visit

ABBEY: It was after my night shift and the rain is pouring hard when we were about to visit Alexandra Fire Station. I'm reluctant to come but I was happy I made the right decision. The fire station allows guest every Saturday at 9AM to visit and learn about their operation. You just need to knock on the steel gate, sign up and trade your IC for a visit pass.

Mr. Saif gave us a tour of the station. He showed us the different components of a fire truck, its models, and its contents. I was surprise that they also have one-man fire motorcycle (used for small fire). Their response time is from 8-12mins depends on the incident location. They will help not only on fire-related matters but they also specialize in rescue mission.

So if there's something strange in your neighborhood don't call ghostbusters yet call your local hero first :)

WILL: Round-the-clock standby? What a passion for a people to have that kind of job! Saluting the fire fighters of Singapore Civil Defence Force!

I found out that Firs Stations are open for visitors every Saturdays for two sessions, 9 and 10am. Sister and her son coming her so its a good idea for him to see how the firemen do their job.

We were greeted by Mr. Saif. He showed us the different trucks, life saving equipments, different hoses, inside the ambulance, inside their mini-control stations, patrol bikes, people checking their things and how the computer generates the alert for emergencies.

I am quite shocked that they also the rescue for suicides situations, that they have an ambulance in their stations(I thought all ambulances came from hospitals, haha), and all were computerized ... even the voice announcing what is the emergency all about. Oh, they also have the control of traffic lights outside 2 or more streets outside their station.

Even we do not have the chance to see how long the automatic ladders go up, or the hose sprinkles the foam or water that tour is very educational.

Thanks to Saif and the rest of SCDF people for this kind of free tour. More, more power!
