Goober Chocolate Spread

ABBEY: A delightful sandwich spread made of peanut butter and chocolate. Put some on a slice of bread, toast and eat. Complete it with brewed coffee. Back in the Philippines, I've tried their peanut butter with grape stripes.

WILL: Goober uber :)  A new alternative for sandwich spread. Peanut butter and chocolate combo. Who will not like it?
Better to spread it on a toasted bread :)

Old Chang Kee Singapore

ABBEY: Fish balls, anyone? When I was a kid I used to buy fish balls from a pushcart that roves around our neighborhood every afternoon. I was delighted to eat fish balls from Old Chang Kee, reminiscing my childhood days. The shop also offers chicken nuggets, puffs or empanada, fried crab claw, yam kate, and chicken wings. Though a bit expensive compared to home-cooking, its better than going to the kitchen and do the stuff sometimes.

WILL: Hmmm. Chat's fave knickknack. Well, i can't blame her. Ha! the fish ball, kung sa atin puro tinik at harina, dito fish na fiah tlga. My fave to old chang kee is the yam k8. Malayo pa lang maamoy mo n ang oils nila and in fairness, di mabaho ang oil nila.
So good, one stick fish ball is not enough!

Yoshinoya

ABBEY: We have visited their branches at Harbourfront and at Tanglin Mall. What I tried is rice bowl with fried pork. The rice is very delicious, topped with seaweed strips. Can't help to finish my bowl right away. The pork is tender and it taste great with a soy sauce dip. That bowl cost 6-7sgd. Oishi, Yoshinoya!

WILL: In Yoshinoya Philippines, we always ordering their noodles, here they do not have, so we stick on their rice variants. The taste is usual and the price is quite affordable.

Pizza Hut Singapore Facebook Party 2011

ABBEY:
We were excited to this occasion, the Facebook Party. Only few people are selected to see and taste the newest dishes offered on the red hat. Their staff sent mail and guests should reply as confirmation. They also called us on the actual to double confirm. A fee of 8SGD for all the guests but I'm telling you that its more than 8sgd of what we got on the party. Sets of appetizers; fries, chicken drumlets, bread. A choice of main course between rice and pasta with seafood or chicken as core ingredients. Choco-berry banana in thin crust as dessert, and free flow of drinks. Prizes were also given away after each game. What we got that money can't buy is the new friendship among our table mates :) Proof of that is when we won the first game. Go table 1. Thanks Pizza Hut.

WILL: Pizza Hut Facebook Fan Party!!!
We were the lucky few to get in to this event. Ever since, back from Philippines, I am huge fan of this restaurant! I just love their pizza!
Okay, we won the group game. We managed to put up 48 words within the letters of ANNIVERSARY. :) Then we get the big red bag for a prize.
After that we got to taste their new menu. Abbey ordered seafood fiesta baked rice, paella look a like. What really really really love the cheesy mussels. The party costs $8.00, not bad ha, for free flow of drinks and 3 course meal :)

Gloria Jean's Coffees

ABBEY:
I was introduced to this shop when my manager treat our group when we had a meeting. As usual I ordered their chocolate drink. Its good. A grande cost 150php. Here at SG, it cost 6-7sgd. We once waited for me here while I'm on afternoon shift. It was in their Suntec branch. Another coffee shop to explore other than SB and CB.

WILL: We have another day to spend lunch together. Undecided where to dine and we saw this restaurant catering a 9.90SGD for every meal.

Ordered lasagna and coffee, very good combination to warm up our body on that rainy and gloomy day.
Sa uulitin, anyway its just steps away on our buidling, The International Plaza

Artease Cafe

ABBEY:
Wilma told me that we will have a new thirst quencher to taste. She sees that this store always have a long queue of customers. Its another version of Zagu. They offer various flavors and u have to choose between pearls and crystals. The drink cost no more than 4sgd. Aba'y foreigner na sago't gulaman. Ahhhhh!

WILL: What's the current buzz around Tanjong Pagar? Its the Artease Cafe. In order for you to taste their drinks, take the long queau. It took us around 30mins. The taste? For me, is not quite good for my taste buds. It seems very unnatural.

What's good with their serving? You can request for the sugar level you like to add in your drink. :)

Quaker Oats - Oatmeal Cookies

ABBEY: Open my bag and you will see packets of cookies, crackers and biscuits. These can put off my hunger at work. In a busy working environment, sometimes you wouldn't notice time. They come in different flavors; plain, with raisins, and my fave, chocolate chips. Oats can help to absorb bad cholesterol. During their promotion of product costs 1.25, but now its 2.50 to3. Look for these whenever you're in the supermarket.

WILL: I saw this first at Grand Central Supermarket. Too anxious to taste i bought all the flavors for Php10 each pack. The taste well, yummy. A good source of fiber.

Toast Box @ Suntec City Food Republic

ABBEY: Wilma and I used to have breakfast at this coffee shop in Suntec. We ordered the 3-piece peanut butter toast. It was cut into 9 tiny squares. Good match for their brewed coffee. They also serve Kaya toast along with boiled eggs. A meal cost no more than 5sgd. Starting the morning with your loved one along with a delicious breakfast. :)

WILL: That was my last day here in Singapore. So sinundo ko si Abbey from his night shift. Craving for Singapore's traditional coffee and kaya toast, we headed to Toast Box.
We queued, ordered kaya toast, coffee, and peanut thick toast and waited for almost 20 mins for our food. The taste? Not similar to what I expect. I think a more western side than Singaporean.
A nice alteration, but original is still the best :)

Pastamania Singapore

ABBEY: I ordered their baked rice and gave it to Wilma for breakfast. She liked it and she even treated me and Chat for dinner in their branch in Tanjong Pagar (CPF Bldg). Pastas and baked rice ranges from 10-20 sgd. They have penne, spaghetti, macaroni, fettuccine with different flavors to choose from. In Tanjong Pagar branch, I can see professionals conducting their meeting on this diner. It is another way to have a place other than the office meeting room to brainstorm with your peers, have breakfast, and socialize. Good thing they open early so I can get my little surprises for Wilma.

WILL: My favorite is the croissant with egg and ham, love it for breakfast. Near our office, we went at Pastamania's Robinson Road Branch for a dinner.
We ordered pizza, pasta, coffee and soda. Nothing special. Nice to try.

Seattle's Best Coffee

ABBEY: What I like the most in this cafe is their chocolate drink. Its very rich in flavour and has a great aroma, be it hot or a cold one. We used to go this shop whenever we have team meetings back when I was in Philippines. I hope they will open a branch here in SG soon.

WILL: My favorite ice blended coffee is from Seattle's Best. When I was in Philippines, week will not pass that I will not set my foot in one of their cafes.
I love their Javachip Javakula. Try it well recommended. Hope meron din dito s Singapore. Miss it taste.

Earth Day @ Starbucks

ABBEY: This was celebrated by Starbucks last April 22. To participate in Earth Day, they encourage their patrons to go to any Starbucks branch with their own Starbucks mug to get a FREE brewed coffee. With this they won't be using paper cups to serve coffee and they can help the environment to conserve paper resources. They filled our mugs to full. We redeemed it in their Tampines branch. We enjoyed our coffee and we participated in the Earth Day in our own little way.

ABBEY:

WILL: Holiday! Earth Day! Starbucks giving away free coffee. The conditions?, bring your starbucks tumbler...easy.
We went at their Tampines Mall branch.
The greatest thing, after this event, starbucks will slash 0.50$ per order if you bring your own tumbler. You save money...you save mother earth :)

Häagen-Dazs ® Singapore - Take Home Fondue

ABBEY: We visit their branch at Suntec City. We got their double scoop of chocolate and strawberry. It was server in a bowl on top of a cocktail glass filled with dry ice. I was amazed when I was able to eat the brand name. It was written in a small oval-shaped chocolate. I also surprised Wilma for getting a chocolate fondue set. Double scoop costs 12sgd while the fondue set is 45.

WILL: Abbey rang my phone and told me to go home early because he have a surprise. Well, he got me off guard, i am so surprised to see those chocolates anf ice cream on our table. :)
Abbey is so sweet that I cannot imagine what he will do next.
So what will u expect in hagen dazs ice cream? An extraordinary taste. Oishi!

Polar Puffs and Cakes

ABBEY: These cakes are little, but they have great taste.  We used to buy these dessert before she goes home. I got the chocolate, coffee, and their mur cake(the one that looks like an ond TV). The cakes are great as dessert or partner for coffee break or tea time. The puffs have lots of fillings. With less than a dollar a piece, it would sure be a choice to feed your hunger.

WILL: Every friday, our director gives us free snacks. This polar puffs is one of them. It really reminds me the taste of Jamaican patties. It costs only 1.30$
The nearest branch in my office is at Tanjong Pagar MRT station. I also found out that they have a great selections of cakes. I really love their mur. And because i am a frequent buyer, i have a discount from their supervisor :)

Rocky Master

ABBEY: I was preparing my lunch, when I got called. "Can we have lunch together?" With excitement I said yes, not because its her treat but we can spend dining together before we got hitched. The place was full of people. I never imagined that we can have a table in just couple of minutes. I tried to have lasagna but its not available. I got baked rice instead, as suggested by the shouting staff. Their devil's brew gave me a jolt, as I need it for the coming occassion. The food was great, greater than the one that I was supposed to eat before I got the call. :)

WILL: Clock is ticking and we are all packed. Abbey's at home waiting for 6pm for him to hail a taxi to go to the airport. 12noon, i phoned him and asked him if he wants a lunch out with me... Our last lunch as fiance/fiancee.  He agreed. Pass one o'clock, we at Rocky Master, ordered pasta, pizza, and their turkey sandwich.
The sandwich was good, pasta is very very yummy, pizza quite ordinary. Ohh, we Abbey sipped the devil's brew their signature coffee, they say we might be addicted to its taste, but i bet not. Ordinary brewed coffee.

Their place at Tanjong Pagar is so little, jam packed. It costs me around $45.00.  They also have a snob cashier, frowning at their customers, beware of her, she shouts the available menu if you are undecided what to order.

I am so happy that moment, i have to wait for only couple hours to see my family and abbey's and to have make the vow of forever.

Hotel Re! - Re!cess Daily Set Meal

ABBEY: Re-joice for getting to this place after you catch your breath. Re-vitalize your senses as you enter a different hotel ambiance. Re-juvinate your body as you intake a sumptuous dinner. This hotel-restaurant is a 15-min walk from Outram Park MRT station. Their rib-eye steak is good as well as their dessert and the unlimited bread, coffee and tea. For a 50-dollar dinner, that is reasonable.

WILL: Re! Re! Re! Who will not curios of this Re!cess meal of Hotel Re! We had Japanese meal, wednesday set. A not so formal dining but a four course meal. Of course I went for salmon, ordinary. Abbey for beef. The dessert, an ice cream. Disappointed, wala man lng kabahid bahid ng lasa ng japanese cuisine. And on my anxiety, i just indulge in their unlimited toasted bread, just to compensate my more than 20SGD/pax

Outback Steakhouse

ABBEY: This diner is located at Millenia Walk near Suntec city. We were there to celebrate her birthday. We did avail of their meal fit for a couple. It includes complementary bread, an appetizer, 2 main dish with choices of fish and meat, and 2 glasses of punch. We were attended by their staff who is kind enough to offer us to change one of main's side dish into their mouth-watering fries with cheese and bacon bits. I was very full then. Not bad for a hundred-dollar meal to celebrate an occasion with her.

WILL: I do not know whats happening inside of me because that Monday, I want to go home and hug my husband. Yeah, this is my first birthday as Abbey's official wife :)
After office i hurriedly went down to meet my husband :)
I was surprised by bouquet of white roses. And of course, pinagtitinginan n naman ako ng mga tao kasi may kamahalan na taglay (phrase from ate Gail) ang mga bulaklak dito sa Singapore. Then, we hurriedly paved our way to this restaurant.

The ambiance was so cosy and romantic and I think ganun din ang price.
I had a salmon, Abbey got a rib eye, we chose punch instead of wines. My stomach is totally full. The salmon is so nice na iniisip ko kung paano kya nila niluto yun na sobrang lambot ng meat, muka syang fried pero para din syang steamed.
Sometimes, it so good to have a splurge in this kind of restaurant. The waitresses were very accommodating, they greeted us a smile and bid us a nice goodbye. :)

Keen on Crepes

ABBEY: We dined here after we picked up the wedding dress and suits. A variety of crepes are displayed on their menu, but I chose the one with chicken filling. The crepes were served in large portions, enough to satisfy my hunger. Keen on crepes matches their food with choices of coffee, teas, choco, and juice. Prices start at 5sgd.

WILL: We went here after the final fitting of my gowns and Abbey's suits. Sa dami na bitbit namin we eyeing for resraurants near our place. Since bulalo house was closed then, we decided to try this crepes. We ordered different meals :) i tried the tuna, abbey went for chicken and chattie wanted the beef.

All i can say, "ang sarap ng crepe mo kuya" ahaha. The crew is filipino :) it will costs you not more 8$ each crepe and yummy coffee of 3$.

You can find this along the bridal street of tanjong pagar.
Drop sometime here, worth trying :)

Carl's Jr. Singapore

Abbey:
This is our official tambayan; me, Wilma, and Chat. Once in a while I want to indulge myself to an order of a huge burger, large fries, and unlimited soda. This fastfood chain satisfied my cravings. We usually hangout at their Vivo City branch. I hope we can visit it sometime again.

WILL: Who will not love Carls' Jr? from its patties, its tea with lemon, and their fries. Oh darn, we will surely crave for this food once in a month. After we had our foot spa at Mary Chia we ate our dinner here. Filipinos are everywhere. Actually in almost all restaurants here, they have a Filipino taking their OJT.
We always love to greet them in Our language, on my surprise one of the crew on his delight of us, he put extra love on our meal and grant us a nice discount. This Carls' JR NEX is the most memorable branch for me.

McDonald's Singapore

Abbey:
I'm glad they have McDo here in Singapore. They have their own differences but the good thing is they both serve my favorite crispy fries. Chicken meal here doesn't come with rice. Its only fries, drinks, and coleslaw or mashed potato. I also got their 1 for 1 promo on tender-grilled chicken sandwich for their "Make it better" campaign. I wish they come up with more promos :)

WILL: Of course, di ko papalampasin na makakain sa McDonald's Singapore, to see the difference. My fave is the Malaysian version. But now, of course Singapore is the best, why?, the taste, the big servings, salt and pepper on my fries, their monopoly, and the current promo is 1-1.
