The Secret Patio's Mad Hatter's Tea Party

ABBEY: An “Have I gone Mad”-themed pop-up was setup at The Secret Patio @ Duxton. It was their take at Alice in Wonderland. For SGD 39.9 per person (minimum of 2) you’ll be able to reserve a table. You will be greeted by the smell of croissants and you can see playing cards, flowers, butterflies, colorful cups and checkerboard-covered tables in mats; just like in the Madhatter’s tea party. We got savoury croissants (triple cheese with chicken ham and mushroom) as well the sweet ones (almond and hazelnut cruffin). Along with that we got tea and cold dark chocolate drinks. I thought all the food were included in the reservation payment but it is not. The drinks have to be paid separately.

WILL: I am fond of Alice in Wonderland. Yep! It is one of the fantasy to experience the Mad Hatter’s Tea Time. I thought I may tick that off on my list when Abbey and I visited The Secret Patio, well it wasn’t.

The area was filled by white and red flowers to make it feels like you are in a garden (of course), a pallet covered with black and white to be our table, and butterflies. There’s a feeling of something missing in food presentation. Maybe the teapot or a cake stand. Not sure but there’s a lack of vibe in the place.

Luckily, I have enjoyed the taste of their pastry specialy the mushroom croissant. I enjoyed the Nymph of the Nile tea too. Maybe I expected too much when my husband paid for $39.90 each (drinks not included). As what some says, charge it to experience. Hehe.

Oscar Head Spa for Only $58 for 2 Hour Hair & Scalp Treatment Spa and No Hard Selling - With FREE Mini High Tea

ABBEY: Heard about head massage? How about head spa?
If not, “head” now to Oscar Head Spa.
I didn’t know it’s possible to get all these treatments for the head; massage, shampoo, deep cleaning, head spray and steam. Aside from those I got neck and shoulder massages, face and eye seaweed mask, and tummy and knee compress.

It was really relaxing and definitely you get a good nap during the session. After the treatments, we had high tea that includes cake, oreo, and fruits. I would like to commend Irene for giving great service. A bit pricey for non-promotional package but worth it.

WILL: We all know that massages are good for blood flow and it relaxes us right? So why not have a massage that is focusing on your head and scalp. Now, head and scalp massage is the new thing here in Singapore and I think, Oscars is one of the pioneers for it.

Salons that offers this kind of service, why Oscars? Well, first they got me in to the white and gold combination of their place. It seems so clean, comforting and fancy. Second how well the reception handles my booking. We had irregular Facebook communication and still managed to book on my preferred slot. So how’s the treatment? First you need to face the truth about your scalp. They are not like the some salons that will use exaggerated words to create fear on you instead they use adjectives that will inspire you to take extra care of your scalp and hair.

In the room, the light will be dimmed and the total relaxation begins. I seldom get sleepy in any kinds of massages but I think I snoozed out for more than an hour. Haha! All I know is the masseuse keep on kneading my head gently.

Will I come back? We bought vouchers for our next visits. We are ready to be pampered on the followung months. Wohhhooo!

Yardbird Singapore's MUST TRY SUNNY MORNING BREAKFAST SET | Marina Bay Sands Singapore Restaurant

ABBEY: Wilma was enticed of Yardbird’s waffles so we went there for a brunch and ordered a pair of Sunny Morning. Each set (36SGD) comes with freshly-squeezed juice, coffee or tea and one entrée. The juices are great: Green Giant (cucumber, celery, kale and honey) and Carotine Kicker (apple, orange, sweet potato and maple syrup). I preferred the former.

For the main I had Crispy chicken and egg biscuit sandwich. The serving is quite small but packs flavor. The melted cheese covered the succulent crispy chicken and really goes well with the biscuit.

Next time I’ll try the Chicken N Waffles N Watermelon.

WILL: Our siblings send us money to splurge on foods. So, this is the right time to spend without guilt. And one of our target restaurants way back 2019 is Yardbird located in The Shoppes of Marina Bay Sands. My goal is to taste test their famous waffles and the best time to eat those is on morning, so we booked a table and arrived around 1030am.

They have a $36 Sunny Morning Set and I chose to have Green Giant Juice, Salted Caramel Waffle and Hot Tea. The juice is impressive! Celery is not overwhelming amd the cucumber is refreshing! And that is my best waffle that I ever had. Not airy but packed and crispy! There is a tendecy that may get dry if you’re a slow eater like me. Haha! Just ask for syrup. Ok? The tea do not taste like burnt leaves.

Will be back? Yes of course! Next time will check the other food options like for dinner or lunch.
