Is Sio Pasta Actually Worth the Wait? (Great Food, But Here’s Why I Won't Be Back!)

ABBEY:  Our first attempt to dine at Sio Pasta didn’t go as planned because the queue was simply too long. Fortunately, on our second visit, the line was much shorter, and we were able to get seats at the bar within a few minutes. We ordered The Best Mentaiko Pasta and Neapolitan Beyond Neapolitan with Pork Sausage . Both dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, with each pasta offering its own unique and well-balanced flavor. Between the two, I personally preferred the Neapolitan. The rich tomato-based sauce paired wonderfully with the juicy pork sausage pieces, making every bite satisfying. The Mentaiko Pasta was flavorful as well, although I found it a little too salty for my taste. The presentation of both dishes was impressive and definitely added to the overall dining experience. Since we were seated at the bar, we also had a front-row view of the kitchen while our food was being prepared. It was interesting to watch the chefs at work, but I did notice that the food handli...

We Found SG’s Most Affordable Ice Plunge & Finnish Sauna for Post-Workout Recovery!

ABBEY:  Our last few weeks in Singapore have been quite a roller coaster ride, so finding Reva couldn’t have come at a better time. We simply walked in, and it turned out to be exactly the relaxing experience we needed. The combination of the hot pool, cold plunge pool, and sauna helped our bodies recharge after weeks of stress. We were also lucky with the weather. It was raining that day, making the experience even more enjoyable. Feeling the cool air before stepping into the warm sauna was incredibly relaxing. After spending time in the sauna, soaking in the hot pool felt soothing, while plunging into the cold pool afterward instantly woke up our muscles and senses. The tingling and slightly numb feeling from the cold plunge definitely took some getting used to, but it was refreshing. Haha! During our visit we were able to watch a cardio session held inside the sauna. The participants were completely drenched in sweat by the end of the workout, proving just how intense the cla...

Cafe Hopping in Singapore: Why MOZmoji Cafe Needs to Be on Your Bucket List!

ABBEY:  Another café has joined the city’s growing coffee scene, and this one offers more than just good coffee. MOZmoji Cafe welcomes guests with an art gallery-inspired space, featuring beautifully crafted ceramic pieces and wooden furniture that double as part of the café’s exhibit. While waiting for a table, visitors can take their time browsing the curated collection, making the experience feel both relaxing and inspiring. For our drinks, we ordered the Pistachio Vienna and Salted Cocoa Latte. What immediately caught our attention was how the barista invited us to choose the cup for our beverages. It may seem like a small detail, but it added a thoughtful and personalized touch to the overall café experience. The Salted Cocoa Latte delivered a rich cocoa flavor enhanced by a subtle hint of salt. The balance was well-executed, allowing the espresso notes to remain present without being overpowered. Meanwhile, the Pistachio Vienna showcased a bold and nutty profile, with the ...

Shaw Theatres premiere Review: Is This Premium Cinema Worth It?

ABBEY:  Recently, we finally got to experience the newly renovated Shaw Theatres Lido along Orchard Road just in time for The Devil Wears Prada 2 hitting the silver screen. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear that Shaw has elevated the cinema experience into something far more premium and comfortable for moviegoers in Singapore. One of the first things you will notice is the impressive selection of food and beverage options available. Guests are spoiled for choice with concepts like Centro, Espresso and Matcha Bar , and even a Cocktail Bar, making it feel more like an upscale lounge than a traditional cinema. If you are planning a date night or weekend movie experience, the value is surprisingly decent too. A SGD90 package already includes a pair of Lido Premiere tickets along with two SGD15 F&B credits. The service also stood out during our visit. An usher personally welcomed us and guided us to our leather recliner seats while explaining how the in-seat servi...

Mandarin Oriental Singapore HAUS 65 Review: Is It Worth the Price?

ABBEY:  For our 15th wedding anniversary, we celebrated with a 3D2N staycation at the iconic Mandarin Oriental Singapore, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and pampering hotel stays we’ve had. The experience started seamlessly. There was no need to queue at the hotel lobby because our check-in was done directly at the club lounge. While the staff prepared our room keys, we were invited to enjoy breakfast and choose what we wanted from the menu. I immediately went for the Nasi Lemak. The chicken was crispy outside yet juicy inside, pairing perfectly with the fragrant and well-seasoned coconut rice. Then came the champagne. They were serving Ruinart, and naturally I had a couple of glasses to start the morning. After all, it was a champagne breakfast. The best part? The free-flow champagne continued from 7AM all the way to 7PM. Shortly after breakfast, our room was ready for early check-in and we were thrilled to be assigned a high-floor room. Waiting for us insi...
