Robata Robata Japanese Dining Buffet @Westgate

ABBEY: The first time I saw this restaurant on third storey of Westgate Mall, I told myself that I'll be dining in it.  Lo and behold, we decided to hold my post-birthday celebration lunch there with my ever-beautiful date, Wilma.

I munched on their grilled chicken wings and also on grilled saba. I took a sample of their tepanyaki with chicken as meat. It was delicious. The mushroom give it a good aroma and taste. Since this is a Japanese restaurant, sushi will be present.

My favourite inari is there. With chopsticks, wasabi and soy sauce, I ate a plateful of sushi. I also tried their porridge. Then I went for Japanese curry. It really went well with Japanese rice and chicken karaage. I thought I'll not be having  room for dessert but I did. I got chocolate ice. I washed them all up with a couple of lemonade.

WILL: It is Abbey’s long-month birthday celebration and to grant one of his wish, we dined at Robata Robata at Westgate.

Robata is a style of cooking on which originated in Japan. It is similar with the usual barbeque. But we dined at lunch so the pit was closed. Anyways we always want to lessen the grilled food.

Luckily they have a promotion until the 19th of December and we only paid for $26.90++ instead of $33.90++. From 12PM – 2:30 we were there! Can you do that? Non-stop eating? This is Japanese Buffet, and what is one of their specialty except for the Robatayaki? Well they also have Teppanyaki! If you know how to mix and match the vegetable with different sauces, that side is for you.

But for me and Abbey, we settled to already cooked-food. Of course I splurge on seafoods! Tempura, fresh shrimps, sashimi, sugata-zukuri, crabs, sushis! OMG! They occupied a large part of my tummy. Haha! Before my dessert. I tried their Japanese rice plus their famous curry. Then I looked for tonkatsu but there is none! Disappointing.

I got their lemonade. Finish 3 glasses of it, and on my count Abbey got 5. Haha! I have waffle topped with chocolate ice cream as my dessert.

Thanks Baby for your lunch treat! We headed home and never ate dinner for that day! Haha!

Monster Curry Singapore at 313@Somerset

ABBEY: This place reminds me of a sad moment as my then girlfriend will leave Singapore after a month of visit. But the good thing is, we had good food at Monster Curry at 313@Somerset (Food Republic).

So we visited it again. At less than 15sgd,  I got a large portion of chicken with matching dark Japanese curry sauce. Combining each bite with white rice and my hunger is solved. The curry sauce's spiciness is just the right amount; not too salty nor bland.

WILL: January 2010, it was the end of my 2-month vacation here in Singapore. We spend our afternoon on a movie date and I craved for Japanese food back then and we found this great place in 313@Somerset. That was the 2nd saddest parting we have. That spot. It was all clear. The teary eyes and emotional voice.

After 4 years, we re-visited the place, now with a full smile. We see things brighter. We just reminisce the past and now putting an end of that sad part and replacing it with a great happiness. We well appreciate now the view of passing pedestrians and vehicles from level 5 of this building. We are so happy.

I ordered pork katsu. I love the taste but it would be lovelier if they have a wasabi. The serving is too big, I ate the ¾ and the rest was covered by husband.

This place is recommendable for a great food, great view and affordable price.

(Washokodokoro) Waraku Japanese Casual Dining Singapore VivoCity

ABBEY: We won an invite for the opening of Waraku Japanese restaurant in Vivo City. It was located on the rooftop park of the mall. Outside the restaurant is a photobooth where you can pose with a Samurai.

We were given a table for two and the staff told us as part of the store opening a meal including a drink will be served for free. The meal includes tempura, udon, sushi, and potato salad. The sauce brings more flavor on the tempura.

I really like the sushi; I hoped that they will serving more of those.

WILL: Fan of Japanese Cuisine? Add up Waraku Japanese Restaurant on your list. Waraku is one of the famous and oldest restaurant from its at East Coast Park.

Its the opening at their VivoCity branch when we first stepped our feet in one of their restaurant. The place portrayed a very cozy feeling. Its seats, tables, even plates and chopsticks well complimented to each other. Relaxing is the great word to describe it.

They offered us drinks and I asked for cranberry juice after a while the food was served. The tray consists of udon, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and volcano maki. The most memorable was the noodles packed with flavors and very chewy, its seems like a gnocchi texture.

Thanks Waraku for this free dinner and free photo shot with Sushi Ronin.

Guys please visit their page here for more details.

Ramen Ten Restaurant - Singapore's First & Most Popular Halal Japanese Restaurant

ABBEY: I began to like sushi when Wilma told me to try it. We had a couple of visits on sushi bars but this is the first time on Ramen Ten . The diner is located at Level 1 of Far East Plaza in Scotts Road. This was an online group discount promo which costs $17.90. The promo consists of a bowl of ramen, a choice of your drink, and buffet of sushi (white plates only). We didn't expect the bowl of ramen that big. I almost not able to finish it. Actual price is not more $10 each bowl. I ate a lot of inari, and egg sushi as I was allergic to prawn. Its sad that the torched salmon belly is not served on a white plate else I could have eaten only those. You can also ask the chef to make you made-to-order sushi, white or any colored plate.

WILL: Abbey is a type of guy that will go for the "usual", he doesn't hate new things but he  will always choose the things he used to do, places he used to go and restaurants he used to dined, that's why I am very surprised that he asked me out and to have lunch at the Ramen Ten at Far East Plaza. Of course, I affirmed the invitation of my husband.
It is a rainy sunday, when we go to Orchard to taste and be merry with sushi. It was located just in front of Royal Plaza on Scotts Road, so you will never get wrong on this mall.
As we enter, the crew immediately offered us a seat and we chose to seat at the counter. They informed us that we can only eat the sushis on white plates. I tried one of their sushi but it I don't like the taste of their rice, it seems the sushi is out there in the conveyor for quite some time. The rice is too hard and too cold. :( so we decided to take our ramen, included to the voucher that Abbey bought from StreetDeal. We were both shocked with the serving size of their complimentary ramen, it can occupy two rumbling tummies. The soup and noodles was so fine and delicious.
To stop my frustration on their conveyor sushi, I decided to give it a try on their famous spicy sushi (included in the deal), spicy prawn and spicy tofu, oishi! On the Nigiri set, I asked for spicy squid tempura and ebi fried sushi.
Overall I am so delighted to try this restaurant, for sure this is on my list for a spicy sushi and ramen cravings.

Nana's Green Tea at Plaza Singapura

ABBEY: We got a 1 lunch voucher on Nana's cafe and we claimed it on their branch at Plaza Singapura. It was a Japanese restaurant and they promote green tea on their menu. They serve main menu like chicken and pork, crepes, desserts like ice cream and drinks.

The voucher that we had is a set lunch; meaning food and drinks included at a price of 13.90sgd. The price for a main course is 12 to 15sgd and a drinks starts at 6sgd. So It was true treat for us :)

I tried their Chicken Teriyaki Don matching with chocolate. The hot chocolate has a rough texture but it was delicious. I never thought green tea and chocolate will go along well.

We left the place full and satisfied.

WILL: This one of the famous cafe in Japan and people of Singapore is very awesomely lucky to have it here. The newly renovated Plaza Singapura welcomed Nana's Green Tea
I am an avid fan of Japanese cuisine and I really love green tea. When Abbey won the giveaway from AiMakan, I am more delighted than him. Ha!
We really set a date to redeem the set lunch, we availed two sets of lunch which costs $13.90 and I ordered usual whenever dine in a Japanese restaurant, the Chicken Cutlet Curry Don partnered with Matcha Kuromitsu Latte. They also served it with the most tasty miso soup I had ever sipped. Excellent service also.
I fell in love instantly to this restaurant. Obviously, we will be coming back for more. :) Thanks to AiMakan for the set lunch voucher!
