Curry House CoCo Ichibanya

ABBEY: We saw the ad in the pathway to Somerset MRT station. It says that they serve the best Japanese curry.

The diner is located at Basement 2 of 313 Somerset. To place an order tell the staff the amount of rice, spice level of the curry and the toppings or side dish of your chosen meal. I got deep fried pork cutlet with curry spice level for kids :) The taste is good as I expected my Japanese curry to be. Crispy pork cutlet in a hot rice us a good combination. I finished my meal in 15 minutes. Thank you Chat.

WILL: We saw their ads at MRT Sommerset station, then we promised to ourselves that one of these days we will our feet to this Coco Curry restaurant and linger the taste of Japanese curry. And well, that promise and fantasy did happened and for free. Thanks Chat. Thanks NUH bonus. :)

Then we ordered, I am a Japanese cuisine addict. Oh darn, curry rice, who doesn't love those? As we go through the menu, I place an order for Chicken cutlet curry and Abbey went for Pork($12). The waitress asked us what curry, how much rice and level of curry spiciness. Darn, we need to think again. Haha. I went for their usual curry have level 1 of spiciness with 100grams of rice. The taste is awesome even Abbey and Chat agreed with me.
Located at the basement of 313 Somerset and their food is just reasonable, they are not more than $15.

Japanese Restaurant Yayoiken

ABBEY: We found this diner before our movie night commences. This is one of the newest tenant at Bugis+ (formerly Iluma). I tried their pork tonkatsu set. It comes with miso soup, salad, rice and dessert. My set costs 13.9sgd and rice is free flow.

The whole meal is good; pork is crunchy - perfect match with delicious and fragrant rice. The serving is also large.

WILL: Bugis Iluma was renovated and now one of the tenants of Bugis+ is the Yayoiken Japanese Restaurant. It was located just in first floor and just few steps once you entered the building. Perfect location isn't?
We dined here when we won our premiere ticket for the La Chance De Ma Vie (Second Chance). The place is inviting and the ambiance is nice for a dating couple ad yet not pricey.
I was craving for a simmering hot soup and noodles then I ordered the Yasai Ramen. A pork base soup with pork meat and vegetables. My first really delights me! The soup have a distinctive taste and the noodles is firm, just what I want for my bowl of ramen. It costs $9.90. Compliments to their wasabi. Lovely!
Yayoiken at Bugis + is their second branch, you can find the first at the Liang Court Shopping Centre.

Standing Sushi Bar

ABBEY: At last we set foot on this diner to have our anniversary dinner. We did an honest mistake by quoting Standing Sushi bar in one of our review instead of Sushi express.

I tried their Unagi set including rice, miso soup, salad and unagi. The fish is delicious; it complemented the sauce well. We got 1 cup of sake each; man, that has a kick.  The day we visited it, they have promo for 5 slices of sashimi at 2sgd (every Monday). Maybe will be able to dine there again.

WILL: Happy Anniversary Baby! So glad, one year passed and there is no big problems went trough our relationship.
This is it! A dinner date on our first year! After office, we paved our way to Marina and looked for this restaurant. Go Japanese! Haha!
Abbey called for reservation. Its Monday then and they have a promo. A $2 for salmon sashimi and $1 for every shot of sake. I think we ate almost 3 plates of sashimi and one plate of spicy tuna sushi. This is my first time to drink a sake and 2 shots of it made Abbey dizzy. Haha. Thats the first time I saw him with really red face. Hahaha!

Sushi Express Singapore

ABBEY: We were hungry after the visit at Asian Civilisation Musuem. While walking we decided to have sushi for dinner. So we headed towards Sushi Express at Citylink Mall. A plate of sushi is priced at 1.50. During peak hours a customer is given an hour to dine to give space to other customers who also want to eat.

I like the most is the salmon belly sushi. I forgot what they called it but it tastes delicious. I also tried the one with crab stick. We were full after finishing more than 20 plates of sushi.

WILL: Walk, walk, walk. After a long walk from ACM, I am craving to intake some wasabi hehe. Before meeting up Chat I saw Sushi Express now that has no queue. A great opportunity to taste their masterpieces, hehe.
All plates costs $1.50 and we really love their sushi and cakes! Yummy. But the wasabi is in packs, I hope they will get and cooked their own for distinction in flavor like the sakae sushi

Daikokuya

ABBEY: This is Japanese restaurant. The one we visited is at Serangoon Gardens. We were accomodated by a Pinoy staff. I got pork tonkatsu and fried gyoza. What I like on a Japanese restau is their rice. Its soft and tasty. Pair it with curry and porkchop, then its a treat. My meal cost less than 15sgd. Take note they don't serve sushi here.

WILL:
We are about to go to the nearest bank in Serangoon area but we lost are way to it. Abbey's quite upset, then i want some long ride back to Serangoon MRT. Then we found this place... MyVillage.
Here we dined at Daikokuyo, a japanese restau, and to Abbey's relief they offer no sushi and it made me in grief. :(
Okay enough for emotional side, hehe, I ordered a meal that cosist of salmon, mini-size ramen, iced tea, and ice cream :) the ramen taste okay. Do not need to elaborate just a simple okay will do the justice for the experience with this diner.

Ishiki - Sushi and Bento

ABBEY: Wilma told me she wanted to try other food outlets in Vivo. We looked at the first level and we found Ishiki. The food was good and also the ambiance; it makes you feel a street-like environment. I think they can improve their service by telling their staff to smile when they serving or welcoming guests. I felt the staff that served us is unapproachable. Too bad she's a Pinay. We finished our meal, pay for it and then leave.

WILL: I am craving for Japanese cuisine that day or should i say the taste of wasabe. So we headed for a Japanese restaurant at Vivo City.
Here we found this. I ordered curry rice.  Yum yum yum!
Hay! So glad Chat get some sushi :) each bento meal costs us 10.00. Not bad huh!
The ambiance? Serene and homey. :)
