Shaw Theatres (Singapore) Premiere: A New Silver Screen Experience at NEX Mall

ABBEY: Wilma’s anticipation for Thor:Ragnarok is so high that when the tickets were made available she bought a pair at Shaw Premiere (NEX). The passes can make you stay at the Premiere Lounge while passing time and have some snacks.

We also got 5SGD voucher so our All-day Breaksfast set was 7.50 only. We were in the theater 15 minutes before the show starts and were given a big bowl of popcorn, a mountain of cheesy nachos and drink. The blanket has no funky smell and is comfortable.

The seat however is not smooth when I’m reclining it. The leather makes too much noise which can disturb other viewers. Also I was restricted stretching out by the wall separating us with other guests.

Commendation to the staffs as they’re very attentive to needs of patrons.

Shaw Theatres (Singapore) Premiere - All Day Breakfast Set

WILL: To cap off the three cinemas who cater a "higher" rank in watching the silver screen, we booked at Shaw. If Cathay prides themselves with their Platinum Movie Suites, Golden Village have their Gold Class, my favourite Shaw Theatres presents their Shaw Premiere.

Shaw Premiere is located just at Nex Mall. Yep, only in one place. We were immediately served by the ticketing counter and was confused why the tickets is so blurry. It seems that there is no ink or the ink was not printed well on the shiny silver paper.

We entered the Premiere lobby and the staff assisted and ushered us to our seat. Abbey ordered an All Day Breakfast Meal and I am surprised that it was served at the lobby itself (I am thinking if it can be eaten inside the cinema).

Inside, there is no enough space for Abbey's leg. Since I am at the corner, he needs to straighten up his reclining chair (that causes noise) for me to pass through. There is no separate table for each of us. The blanket is good, no mini pillow provided. This is the only reclining chair that made my lower back painful after seating for more than an hour. Huhu!

For snacks, better buy at ticketing counter. The quantity is more generous and way cheaper.

Oh my, sorry. This tarnished my love and respect with Shaw. Never again, Shaw Premiere.

National Steps Challenge™ Season 3 by Health Promotion Board

ABBEY: Yey! We got our new step tracker (Careeach) from Health Promotion Board for 5.5SGD. The goal is to walk at least 10,000 steps.

The new device can give information about the number of steps, obviously. Aside from that, it shows the distance as well as the calories burnt. It looks like Fitbit watches and I find it difficult to charge as it take too much space in the USB hub. Other than that, it looks cool and elegant.

To health and wellness.

WILL:
We joined the Health Promoto Board's National Steps Challenge on its first wave. There is nothing wrong with the mechanism of the step counter but it just pops out of its holder. Yes, we lost the counter but the bracelet remained. Haha.

We received an email to join the steps challenge in wave 3. We paid only $5.50 for the device, how cool was that? It doesn't require any cord, you can directly plug and re-charge it on any USB port.

I can see that I only got 7k+ steps everyday and as usual, we challenge ourselves to hit 10k everyday. We created more activities like running and newly added to our list is cycling. We do that every night (if Abbey's schedule permits).

Thanks Singapore's HPB! More and more challenges to conquer! Yahoooo!

Oh! The app can track your calorie intake everyday. Please download the Healthy 365 for you to find out more.

Sakunthala's Restaurant at Syed Alwi Road

ABBEY: We got hungry after our “shopping spree” at Mustafa.

We went at Sakunthala's and had our dinner. I got egg briyani for SGD8.50. It came with an enormous serving of briyani rice , two eggs and papads. What can I say? The meal is delicious, aromatic and full of flavor.

I’ll come back for more.

Sakunthala's Restaurant at Syed Alwi Road

WILL: After redeeming our new "walk-counter" at Health Promotion Board HQ, we headed to Mustafa. After our haul at 24hours mall, we went for a dinner at Sakunthala.

Why we chose Sakunthala? There's a lot of people (Indiands and Foreigners) dining inside and outside the restaurant, that is the sign that they offer something spectacular.

For days, I am craving for Biryani. Something spicy. I ordered for fish Briyani for $11.00. It comes up with a huge serving of rice, a piece of fish meat, an egg, bowl of curry, chunck of raita and of course a papadum.

The taste? Oh! Absolutely Biryani. Not just a coloring that you can see on some stalls inside mall outlets. Haha! The spices are deeply engraved in every grains of basmati rice. The fish is tender. I ended up finishing all of it, except the egg (which I pass to Abbey). Imagine how big my tummy is. Haha!

Now I am wondering where is the next Indian Restaurant we should eat. :) any suggestions?
