Singapore's Holiday Trees 2011

ABBEY:  It's nice to see different Christmas trees scattered in streets and malls of Singapore. They remind me that holiday season began and Christmas is just around the corner. Every year the trees are designed with elegance and artistry. People flock to taka a snap of those trees. Seeing them smile and admiring these giants is uplifting and inspiring.

Sentosa Buskers Festival 2011

ABBEY: It's the second time we went to Buskers' Festival. As we enjoyed the first we also had a fun time for the recent one. Fun time means I also participated in one of the busker's act. It was for Acromanuel. As the name implies he's an acrobat. He handed me a balloon and told me to blow it up. He picked another male audience the same built as me and told us to face each other with crossed-arm. He stood between us, gripped our arms and did a head stand. I can't believe we can carry him. As a tip he told us to lean forward if we feel that we will be out of balance. :)
We also met Valentino and his Jazz puppets as well as the fire-breather magician Jeff Collins. While searching for a place to eat we met a mime on the way. He's antics are very funny. Every end of the act they encourage people to help for the funding of the Community Chest.

WILL: Buskers from other countries again at Sentosa. Thanks to Sentosa management for letting us witness their performances for free :)
We went there for their day 4 and saw the following:
1. Jeff Collins juggling and fire performance. Hehe. We just love the way he cracked jokes in doing his dangerous acts. Hehe.
2. Acromanuel, wohoooo! We are first to get seat in at kodak stage. :) first in line and due to that Acromanuel saw my hubby and ask to help him for the act. Damn it, i am envy for his upper body strength and balance. Hooray for very kind and very approachable Acromanuel. Oops, he told us that he love the audience in the first row. Haha! We are included in it. Hehe.
3. Valentino and his puppets made our feet thumping from the start of performances up to end. He pulled the strings and the puppets moved like a real man. After the show we congratulated Valentino for his performance. Hehe, as of Valentino, that show is the best he have. We are the set of crowd that claps and participate a lot. Hehe.
4. We are about to go home when we saw Karcocha making fun on people walking around. Haha. He made us laugh a lot! He doesn't bores us. Laugh trip up to end.
Its very good for sentosa to support a charity. ;) simple act that make a lot of people benefit. Looking forward for 2012 Set of Buskers. ;)

Universal Studios Singapore

ABBEY: From the time I entered USS during their "After Hours", I said to myself that one day I'll be having a day-pass there. And it came true. We got our tickets for 66sgd each. Street performers, Universal Studios characters like Woody woodpecker and Frankenstein, snack and beverage stalls are all over the place providing entertainment and convenience for the guests.
The rides that I tried is the Jurassic Park's Canopy flyer, Madagascar's , 4D adventure at Shrek's Kingdom Far Far Away. There were some technical difficulty at The Mummy Returns roller coaster so we didn't proceed. I haven't gone to Battlestar Galactica. I feel I'm gonna faint out. :)

We also went to Lights, Camera, Action theater where they show visual and sound effects for a particular scenario - a hurricane 5 devastating New York city.

WILL: Now, we are here to avail the whole day fee of $66.00. We went here before for only $5/pax, and they called it After Hours. We were there 9:00am but the ticketing counter opened around 9:15. Its better to be that early than to take a long queue just for tickets or better log on to their website to buy tickets.
We first visit Madagscar. The queue took as around 1 and half hour for not more than 10minute water ride. ;) the effects is so great that even me to happiness tapped my feet to their beats.
Ran our way to the Jurassic Park. Another 45 mins for queue but I am quite happy because my in-laws just ride a semi thrilling roller coaster. Hehe. And after that ride ayaw na nila sumakay basta basta. Haha.
This is a tip, do not waste your time dining in on any of their food stalls for a lunch, time is so valuable so just grab some snacks like nachos and soda then eat them while on queue. Hehe.
Next stop, the wild and wet Waterworld Show. Very, very, very enjoyable. Haha. Basang basa kami.. Why? We have this guts to sit our butts to the front seats with a warning na tlgang mababasa kami. Hahaha. Ang saya! Buti na lng may payong kami. Nice! Recommendable for anyone who will visit USS. oh, naabutan nmin ang 2pm show nila.
Shrek, the 4D cinema. Basa ulit. Pero konti lng. Hehe. The queue is not more than 30minutes. Its cinema I think can accommodate 400 viewers.
After nun, hayyy, sayang! Nasira ang roller coaster ride ng return of the mummy. So we went to the very controversial ride ng USS.
I and ate sol have the guts to ride the Battlestar Gallactica. Kakainis kasi nung pumila kami sarado ang blue line, so pinagtyagaan na namin any red line. Each ride have a 28 person capacity. We waited for 2 long hours for our turn. Damn, nakakatuwa. Ang sarap sa feeling, and pinaos ako kakasigaw. Haha. Pagbaba ko, i got dizzy... First time to feel that after a extreme ride. Enjoy enjoy enjoy!
Upon our exit to this park, I saw another attraction that will start in 5 minutes. Sayang naman so i asked them to follow me. Movie came to life tlga! The effects and everything makes us feel that we are really a cast in that movie.
Upon exiting this Steven Spielberg attraction, we heard a sound of music. Then we saw the pinoys, iba tlga ang indak ng isang kababayan!
Okay, enough of it, we need to go to beach station for the 7:40 show of the songs of the sea
Suggestion: i hope USS will indicate in their maps the show times for the visitors can plan well the visit. ;)

Monopoly - EA Games

Abbey:
Since I was a child, I like this game. I received it as gift from my father. A game can take 30 minutes or an hour; a long one. I can't blame my siblings if they got bored. I was glad when I knew that Playstation released a version of this board game. Now I can play with AI and with all the official rules of it. It is also good to know that Monopoly has a version for Ipad. Got it when EA games went on sale. 0.99 cents per game. It has tutorials, cut-scenes and 3D effects. The first game I played it, I lost to my wife. She got the properties early in the game and I got all the fines. It also happened on the second one, but still I admit it I really love this game.

WILL: And then the game is on! I don't have a monopoly game board when i was a child but my cousin does!, how lucky she is. Hehe.
Abbey bought this iPad and iPhone applications when EA games have their sale, $0.99. Very good offer to tap on the install sign. Hehe. Of course, Abbey never wins! Friend kami ng dice eh. Hehe. :)

Skyline Luge Sentosa

ABBEY:
This is what I like the most of the rides I tried in Sentosa so far. It has 2 routes; the easy one and the one they called Dragon route, which has a lot of curves. You must take caution not only for yourself but for the other drivers as well. A tutorial will be given to you as you enter the gate. Put all loose things in your bag or pocket so it will not fall along the way. Make sure to pull the stirring wheel for brakes, else you'll crash to the barrier.

WILL: I am not a thrill seeker as VA is, but I love to try new things. This luge is not just a ordinary ride, machine that needs no oil, just plain gravity. :)
Now the dragon trail is open and we tried it. Astonished, just two of us only took this trail on our batch.
The road is longer, more curves and more exciting! But this time, i hesitated to run the luge as fast as i took the old trail. I am afraid i'll fall to its cliff. Hehe. :)
Ticket how much? Free lah! A free gift when we attend the opening of Sentosa Boardwalk :)

Zynga Cafe World

ABBEY: Before I cooked a real dish, I used to practice on these game. But unlike the real one, you won't accidentally cut your finger or get hurt by cooking oil that pop out of the pan. This game introduced me to different dishes of the world; Italian, Mexican, American, and even "alien" food. Be sure to get the food out of the stove once its cooked else it'll spoil. I cook dishes that has large number of servings but less time to cook. Once I got many dishes to serve, I picked the food that can give large profits. They would take days to cook, but you can be a millionaire in no time :) Sadly, we got bored to this game. Its endless. Glad to have played this game for some time.

WILL: I am self-confessed Cafe World Addict then. It gives me some satisfaction to look on my level heading up than others.
Here you can decorate your own restaurant. Then cook the food you want sell. Dito, walang nagrereklamo sa lasa ng luto ko.. Hehe.
I just ended up the game without a reason. Fed up. Worth a try but so many time wasted.

Angry Birds

ABBEY:
I managed to complete a level of this iPhone game. And that was an accomplishment for me after trying so many times. I got frustrated because sometimes my friend gravity don't help me to topple the structure to beat my porky foes. Once is enough, I guess.

WILL: I am not angry. I am FURIOUS. Title defines what will happen to you while you were playing this game. How can i manage my temper if the blocks that supposedly be drop and gone is still there. Hellllloooo physics? Ooppps logic na lng, by the force and gravity haayy, very unnatural that some blocks stayed in their places. 1.99USD in buying this application was a waste. Hmp! Hate you pigs!

Plants Vs. Zombies

ABBEY:
I didn't play this game. I'm afraid being eaten by zombies. I'm always in panic mode whenever they're near on my plants. I can't analyze what to do. Good thing is that Wilma managed to finish it. She doesn't want the 3.99USD investment to be wasted.

WILL: Early last year, almost everyone i know is playing this game. And as usual, i do not care. Ha! So i am out when Denise and John talking about their plays and moves. 10th of April, i am expecting to have my new iTouch, kapalit ni Zeny, but when i got to the hotel to celebrate my bday, i was astounded to have an iPhone 3GS, and the color, a lovely white. Plants vs Zombies was already purchased and installed. Thats when the addiction started.
What i can get from playing this game? Strategy and decision making. I even finish the game first than Denise. :)

ABBEY:
Merry Christmas :) Very seldom you will find belen in Singapore. That's why we decided to blog the most prominent Christmas symbol here. Yes, the Christmas trees. I like the most is the tree near our office. Siyempre, loyalty to your area :) They have a contest in Orchard for the most beautiful Christmas decoration. You can see different colors and sizes of the trees. In every mall, the tree becomes their center piece, reminding you that you have to go shopping. But beware, touching them will get you electrocuted. Just look at them, have pics and feel the Christmas spirit.

WILL: So, holiday is just around the corner. This is my 2nd year na I am not with my family, sadness, but the new and happy part is to be with my Abbey. Here in Singapore, walang malamig na simoy ng hangin.. malamig na simoy ng air-con lang.. ahahah.. U can only just feel na December na kasi ang daming Xmas Tree.
Kaya, Abbey and I decided to feature it it in our blog. For me the best tree eh yung s Sentosa. Why? recycled eh. Mas mahirap magpaganda ng galing s junk. Go Green :)
