Fettuccine Puttanesca

VERDICT

ABBEY: Olives, anchovies, and capers surprised me when they were added on our grocery list. Aha, my baby will literally cook something. It was puttanesca. The ingredients came together well and made me finish the whole batch; save for a couple of spoons for Wilma’s lunch :) I now wonder what if shrimp will be added to that.
And my wish was granted. Wilma added shrimps and it was delicious.

I Want My Noodle at Shaw Centre (Orchard)

ABBEY: After attending a conference, we unwind and had dinner at I Want My Noodle before heading home. The restaurant has an ambiance of an old Chinese shop.

I got Simple noodle, giant wanton and avocado smoothie. The dry noodles are good and the texture is like the under cooked instant noodle we had back in Philippines which I like. And the sauce really gave flavor to it.

The oversize wanton is giant because of the wrapper not by the fillings.

They have a must-try over the avocado smoothie. And I can say that it is indeed smooth, milky and not too sweet.

No credit cards; only cash or NETS.

WILL: Before we buy Abbey's new black shoes at Pedro, we dropped by at I Want My Noodle diner. One of hubby's 'Where to Eat in Singapore' checklist was ticked-off. Ha!

What is the difference to other stalls? Their egg noodles were handmade. The texture and fluffiness of it proved its distinction. The taste of my myBak Chor Mee? Ok. Nothing special (except the noodles of course).

Am I going back for it? No. Sorry.

Chop Chop Biryani & Meats (Roasted Pork and Squid With Biryani?) At Amoy Street Food Centre

ABBEY: I like briyani rice but sometimes it would be monotonous if the same old chicken or mutton will be there along with the rice. Enter Chop Chop Biryani & Meats.

This shop serves briyani rice but with your preferred meats. Choices are pork (yes pork), beef, squid, and chicken. A meal with 2 meats and pineapple salsa will be 6.50SGD. I got char siew and pork masala with my rice. It was delicious: the spiciness of Indian rice topped with Chinese food.

Wow, perfect for lunch or dinner.

WILL: Abbey do not waste time to spend moments with me. Yes! A+ for his efforts. After his visit to the doctor, he dropped by to our office with a Chop Chop takeaway in hand. Thank you.

He had Blur Sotong for me. This is a dream come true. Pork/Squid with briyani rice! The squid's spicy sauce is overwhelming for me. But I can't stop myself eating those. Haha! I got in touch with Abbey's pork. It is tender and perfectly blended with the briyani rice.

Thank you Chop Chop for this food 'innovation'! Love it!
