ArtScience Museum

ABBEY: This is included in the 24sgd all-access pass. The exhibit is in the top floor of the museum. On the right after you alight the elevator is the interactive gallery of objects that served as inspiration on modern inventions that we have today; like Da Vinci's sketches for a vehicle that allows human to fly which gives the Wright brothers the idea for an airplane. A wall of touch-screen monitors allows you to create a postcard and send them to you friends. On the left side is the audio-visual presentation of the objects.

WILL: ArtScience Museum is one of the greatest landmark now of Singapore as it was built conjointly with the famous Marina Bay Sands 3 towers. Almost every month, different artist, artifacts were showcased here, every turn, every time, this museum never fails to amuse us.
Finally, we entered this lotus-liked museum. Goose-bumps? Yes, it is present. And now we are here to see all Harry Potter and Andy Warhol displays. Unknowingly, we are also allowed to set our eyes to their presentation. The ideas, the creativity and the amusing facts and knowledge by different people.
This is a truly amazing experience. A must-go place for all the visitors of Singapore.

Metrobox Express Balikbayan Box

ABBEY: This is our first time to send "balikbayan" box. As  seen from our housemates, we opted to try the service of Metrobox. They have their office at 3rd floor of Lucky Plaza. Provincial rate for their "up-sized" box (24x24x42) is 120sgd. They charged 55sgd for my odd-size box. The pickup time somehow got late but they assured that it will included on their cutoff date.

The box was delivered after 11 days. That was fast. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks. Thanks Metrobox

WILL: First time! Before, I want to send a balikbayan box to Philippines as my friend Chat suggested but when I will think of the price how much per box costs, well I rather send money.
GSS came and Abbey bought electric drums, its almost 40% off the price if we buy those in Manila so we decided to buy here in Yamaha Singapore and boxed it up to Bulacan. He bought the Upsized Metrobox and there is a lot of space to fill in, then that I know that was the time to send goods to our loved ones.
Since those were the months of Great Singapore Sale, the bargains were all around and supermarkets were not an exception to that. Weekly, I am spotting items for our families to try on. Since detergents is lot cheaper in here, we send them detergents and fabric conditioner. Bags, wallets, skin care were not forgotten to buy. Ha! This is so exciting and yet more brain draining activity rather than sending out the money. Haha!
The box were full then Abbey handled me the packing list, I just wrote down electric drums and personal effects. When my husband read what I inked on, "Really? Yun lng? Personal Effects?", then I nod and explained. He saw of some packing list deliberately write each pieces inside, but the "personal effects" will suffice it all, believe me, unless you cannot win the argument to the customs or courier servicemen then write all the things you packed inside.
The Metrobox took only two weeks to deliver the package, all were in good form. This is a experience, seriously. Haha! Metrobox is located at Lucky Plaza. ;)

The Mind Cafe (Singapore)

ABBEY: Going to this cafe is long overdue. We planned to go here when Kuya Ric went for a visit but didn't have the time. After dinner at Curry House we stopped by the place.

9sgd per person includes free-flow of drinks of the day and 2 hours of playing any game available. We got the old-but-good Connect 4. Form 4 chips horizontally, vertically or diagonally and you win the game. I won both games with Chat and Wilma. Next they tried Battleship but haven't finished the game as they had a hard time destroy each other's ships. We wanted to play quick games so we can play as many times as we can. That didn't happen.
We played Monopoly:Superman Returns edition. Though its a long game we totally had fun specially if you are winning. Isn't that right, Wilma and Chat?

The cafe also offers cocktail snacks to munch in.  Singapore Book of records awards this as the cafe to have the most number of board game. This is good experience.

WILL: I am searching for a great place to fill in some caffeine craving while my oldest brother was here and then I saw Mind Cafe. It was on my list but the schedule really stopped as to go in here.
Chat treated us for a dinner, she got her bonus! Haha! She shared her blessings to us. After dinner, damn I am full and I want to help my stomach to digest it, I need tea. ;)
I don't want to go to any cafes in 313 Somerset, then my brain made me realized to go to The Mind Cafe.
From Orchard, it is only 3 stops for bus #65. After 12 minutes, we were stepping our way up to this cafe. Actually, now I am not after for a hot drink that will help my tummy to digest my food, I am here to enjoy and play all the boardgames I can.
As we entered, we were welcomed warmly by their staff and  huge stacks of boardgames. Like a child, I grinned. So many games to play for only 2 hours. I played and all the games I lost. Haha! Lucky we don't bet for anything. Luck is not at my side at that day.
For two hours, we indulged on their unlimited cold drinks and play-all-you-can boardgames for only $9.00 per pax. This is just beside SOTA, a great location for students to let the stress away. This is a great idea of a unique cafe.
