Ruffles: Hot Wings and Bacon & Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skins

ABBEY: We were looking for kimchi at Cold Storage when we stumbled upon these two new flavors of Ruffles chips. We grabbed a bag of each flavor and headed home. Oh yes, we didn’t forget the kimchi.

We preferred the classic hot wings flavor over the loaded bacon and cheddar as the latter is too salty for us.

The classic hot wings leaves a sour aftertaste as well as heat like if your eating real hot chicken wings. Next time we’ll try with soda.

Goodbye healthy eating again :)

WILL: We found a gem! Ruffles newly released flavours.. The Classic Hot Wings and Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skins.

It is unexpected that the Classic Hot Wings is really good. The spiciness and the sour taste is rewarding! The other flavor, haha, really tasted like bacon. But I will still go for real bacon..you know what I mean?

I am addicted with chips again! Oh my gosh! Anyway, like any addiction of mine, this will pass through. My little cheats!

Easy Champorado (Filipino Chocolate Rice Porridge) Recipe

ABBEY: When I was a kid, I always use to think that making champorado requires a master kitchen skill to cook. But I just found out it’s not :) Haha.

Ingredients:
Glutinous rice (ratio of rice to cocoa is 1 cup rice: 3tbsp cocoa)
Cocoa powder
Sugar (depends on how sweet you want your champorado to be)
Water (depends on the viscosity of your champorado you want to be)
Powdered milk (this is preferred. I always use this)

Mix all dry ingredients in a caserrole except the powdered milk until well incorporated. Add in water. See package of glutinous rice for cooking instructions. Bring it to a boil. Stir every a couple of minutes to avoid sticking at the bottom. From here on, it depends on you how thick your champorado will be as well as the sweetness. Put in a bowl and top with powdered milk. This can also be served cold.

VERDICT
WILL: I have a specific kind of chaporado that I like. I like it watery, while Abbey like it less water. Opposite indeed! Everytime he cooks an instant champorado mix, he is the only one finishing it. Yup. I am hands off on that (malagkit) sticky champorado.

I am not displaying frustration about that fuzz but Abbey surprised me with my kind of chocolatey rice, one day! Yey! As I want it, I like it watery, cold and topped with powdered milk. Yum!!!

Is this a forgotten delight now in our era? Let your child try it now! For sure they will love you more! :)

Miam Miam Singapore (Waterway Point)

ABBEY: We got a chance to spend sometime with Ate Che, a returning OFW and co-founder of Buttons Up Mushroom, before going back to Philippines for good. We met at Miam-Mia@Waterway Point.

I got Shogayaki Pork Miam Donburi (SGD 15.90). It is rice with pork fillet topped with tofu, baby radish and cucumber. I think it is pricey for a meduim-sized serving. But the taste is delicious and have lots of flavor.

The restaurant is fusion of French and Japanese. They also have soufflés, spaghetti, parfaits, pancakes, coffee and tea.

WILL: To celebrate the next chapter of Ate Che's (one of the founder of ButtonsUp Mushroom Crisp) life, we met her at Miam Miam - Punggol Waterway Point Mall.

That was Saturday and of course, the diner was all-packed. I ordered Riz Noir Squid Ink Rice. Wow! That was new for me. It is tasty and the squid meat was cooked to its perfection. Too delighted, I don't care about the black ink on my lips and on my teeth. I keep on eating and talking. Haha!

That good food made even better because of the time spent with a friend. Goodluck to your endeavors Ate Che!
