Singapore Airshow 2012

ABBEY: We got the ticket weeks before the event; 20sgd per person including 2-way shuttle service. The exhibition was conducted at Changi Exhibition Centre. We arrived at the venue 9:30 am, had our seat at the grandstand and wait for the 11am  air display. The participating countries were America, Malaysia, and of course the host, Singapore.

It was a great show; a first time for me. Sound of sonic boom sends chills on me. Applause were heard for every maneuver especially for the complex ones. A number of planes were also in static display including Singapore Airlines' Boeing 747. It is to retire and they conducted free guided tour. We didn't got the chance to see it as all time slots were fully booked. Instead we got giveaways like postcards, card sticker and fan. A couple of snaps on the exhibit and then we headed home.

WILL: As the day approaches us, we are getting more and more excited but a bit weary for the weather that we will face during the AirShow. We rather sun bathe than all soaked up due to rain.

Lucky, not that much rays from the sun that beautiful Sunday morning. We arrived at Changi Terminal 3 around 9am and went our way to board on the free shuttle bus for every ticket availed.

The Airshow start 11am and lasts not more than an hour. Here we saw how the mechanical birds flew across the sky. Shocks, why I don't realize on my childhood days to be a pilot? Hmmm?.. Well, I wish one of my nephew will be one of those people commanding a plane.

We saw also some of the private planes. There are some people who are really rich affording those stuffs. Hehe. So that's all for now. See you Singapore Air Show again on 2014 of February.

Roasted Pork

The dish was inspired by the roast pork tocino style of overseaspinoycooking.net.

1/2 kilo of pork belly
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp paprika powder
1 cup soy sauce
1 lemon

Mix sugar, salt, garlic powder,  paprika, soy sauce, and lemon juice for the marinade. Place the pork and marinate it for at least one day.

Pre heat the oven to 300F to 325F. In a baking dish, place the meat with the fat submerged in the marinade and cook it in the oven for 45minutes to 1 hour.

After an hour, turn the meat over and cook for 20-30 minutes.

Serve with hot rice :)

WILL: Roasted pork? Hmmmm. Using oven for a viand is somewhat unusual for Filipinos. Mostly of out dishes was sauted, fried or have a nourishing soup. So abbey is taking a risk in this. Haha. Pasikat sa akin! Che! Hehe.
The taste? Not what I expect. I am expecting this to be a liitle bland and the meat is hard as a rock or too crispy. Well, I am wrong, the spices really sinked in at its meat and is so soft that I can feel it just melts in my mouth. No need an extra effort to chew this. Hehe. Delicious! Try to do this one.
Hayy natatalo na ako ni Abbey sa cooking challenge namin. Argh!

Underworld - Awakening

ABBEY:
This is the fourth installment of the series. And now the two immortal clans are not just trying to outlast each other but to protect also from a new enemy: the humans. The lycans found a way in which they can be immune on silver and became stronger and powerful. The movie also showed the fruit of Michael and Selene. The child looks like an character in a horror movie when she transforms. Effects are great. Kate still proves that she's hot :)

WILL: This is the genre of vampire-werewolf that I like. Well, honestly I saw this film from the very first one and quite shocked to know that there is number two. But here I am, continues to support the every upcoming movie. Love this Underworld Awakening. Every second of it. Hehe. Hmmm I'll give 10/10 for this. :)
