Pablo Blau - 60-minutes Signature Salt Room Customised Facial

ABBEY: Another pampering session. Now it is for my face. Pablo Blau is a unique experience. They have this what they called Salt Room (salt everywhere from floor to the walls). They say this will help you detoxify upon inhaling the air in the room. Even the floor on facial room is covered with salt.

I can say my face got a really nice massage during the session and all the blackheads got rid off. After the cleaning process comes the moisturizing part. I think I got three layers of different cream applications and my face really glowed. Yey! I got more gwapo after that.

WILL: It’s been a year! A year of not having a good and satisfying facial! OMG! Glad I have bumped into Pablo Blau’s 60minute Customised Facial worth only $69.

There’s some conflict on booking but it was immediately resolved. Instead of 2PM we were rebooked by 11am same day. No fuss! Just went there to receive our face pampering.

Once you stepped in at Pablo Blau you will immediately feel the superbly relaxing ambiance of the place given by the cobalt blue color. Match up that blau (blue) with gold, it will give you a luxury atmosphere. Siggghh of relief.

Pablo Blau is unique. This is the only spa that you need to take of your shoes and change it to disposables. Why? Their treatment room is filled with salt. Yes! Salt! You will step in salt and their walls are covered with, of course, salt. Unique right? We all know that salt is used in many different ways since ancient times and Pablo Blau is harnessing that power for their services.

So how’s the facial experience? The therapist without hesitation lavishly put creams after creams and massage my face thoroughly. She pricked some of my white/blackhead using ultrasonic shovel and acne extractor. After the session, I really do feel the plump of my facial skin and my somewhat burnt forehead's dead skin got peeled off. They are correct! In just one session you will see and feel the difference.

The therapist is quite talkative. It is okay that she explains the products but she is talking about her life during the session. Whew! And she is pretty pushy. The facial treatment and the unique experience at the salt room is two thumbs up. I immediately recommended this to my friends to try.

FOC Sentosa - Best Pork Paella in Singapore

ABBEY: One of our activities for our December celebration is to walk the beach line of Sentosa. It was still a few kilometers and we got hungry. The farthest beach we went to is Tanjong Beach and FOC Sentosa is just around the corner. They were able to accommodate us even though no reservation was made.

We decided to try their Pork Iberico Paella. It was sharing for 40SGD. After 20 minutes our food was served. The pork is tender and melts in your mouth. The fat mixed with rice is a delight. Talk about the rice grain? It is grain in steroids. Each is plump and big. Next thing we know is I’m scooping the crunchy burnt ends on the skillet.

WILL: I am guilty! Yes! I am the one who encourages to try new things, new food, new experiences. And that is the reason we want to explore different cuisine like Mediterranean dish! That is why we went to FOC Sentosa after our beach line walk to complete our STRAVA’s challenge.

FOC Sentosa is not your ordinary restaurant. It is located at Palawan Beach and of course you can soak under the sun their daybeds or have a dip in their pools but make sure you have a prior booking as they are almost fully booked everyday.

We went there to dine and we ordered Iberico Pork Paella. Gosh! Expats are right, FOC serves one of the best paella in Singapore. The rice is still firm and rice is the real star of this viand. Unlike other paellas that's smothered by meat, this paella is simple and yet tasty. You will love the toasted rice sticking on the pan. Yummm!! The pork is tender as expected. Can still remember the aroma of the FOC’s Paella. We washed down the Pork Iberico Paella with their coffee.

Please visit and do not forget to book a reservation at FOC Sentosa.

ONALU Bagel Haús

ABBEY: Wilma tagged me in a post about a new bagel house near Dhoby Ghaut. So before we head to our main destination we went to Onalu Bagel Haus for breakfast. We were welcomed by a warm “Good Morning” from the staff and “bakery-smell” from the bagels.

We got sesame bagel with cream cheese and Something Fishy (bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon). When they serve you bagel they mean it. It was huge and can be shared (on my opinion). The bread is fresh as well as the fillings. The white walls and furnitures gave the ambiance a homey feel and vibrant. It’s as if telling you to relax and enjoy the bagel which we did.

People come on go to have their to-go coffee of sandwich.

WILL: Bagels are one of the topnotch bread here in Singapore due to it’s pricing. Of course there’s a cheap alternative but do not expect quality. Abbey and I always went for Tanjong Pagar to get our bagel-sandwich but now Abbey found a new gem in the heart of SMU.

It is the ONALU Bagel Haus. The first thing you will notice is that the well lit white space and their dining area that resembles just like in our houses. Well, it gives a homey feel.

We had the Somethin Fishy with Plain Bagel. I savour the bagel’s texture and my verdict is bagel at Onalu is absolutely on the standard. Not hard and not too soft; the quality of freshly baked bagels. The smoked salmon and cream makes the bagel, ahm..well my whole brunch extra special.

Say Cheese for only $4 will fill up your tummy and may last until tea time. It is a fulfilling breakfast for me!

Going back here? Yes please!
