ABBEY: Wilma tagged me in a post about a new bagel house near Dhoby Ghaut. So before we head to our main destination we went to Onalu Bagel Haus for breakfast. We were welcomed by a warm “Good Morning” from the staff and “bakery-smell” from the bagels.
We got sesame bagel with cream cheese and Something Fishy (bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon). When they serve you bagel they mean it. It was huge and can be shared (on my opinion). The bread is fresh as well as the fillings. The white walls and furnitures gave the ambiance a homey feel and vibrant. It’s as if telling you to relax and enjoy the bagel which we did.
People come on go to have their to-go coffee of sandwich.

WILL: Bagels are one of the topnotch bread here in Singapore due to it’s pricing. Of course there’s a cheap alternative but do not expect quality. Abbey and I always went for Tanjong Pagar to get our bagel-sandwich but now Abbey found a new gem in the heart of SMU.
It is the ONALU Bagel Haus. The first thing you will notice is that the well lit white space and their dining area that resembles just like in our houses. Well, it gives a homey feel.
We had the Somethin Fishy with Plain Bagel. I savour the bagel’s texture and my verdict is bagel at Onalu is absolutely on the standard. Not hard and not too soft; the quality of freshly baked bagels. The smoked salmon and cream makes the bagel, ahm..well my whole brunch extra special.
Say Cheese for only $4 will fill up your tummy and may last until tea time. It is a fulfilling breakfast for me!
ABBEY: Since the start of Christmas season, I suddenly have a craving for a hot chocolate. I picture it hot, creamy, slightly thick and rich in flavour.
It was satisfied by the signature chocolate of Angelina, L’Africain. But boy, it was priced at 13SGD. It was served on a tiny porcelain jug and whipped cream on the side. The taste of chocolate alone brings back memories and really fits the festive air. Adding the whipped cream makes it more thick and decadent. It is smooth till the last drop. I partnered it with egg croissant with smoked salmon.
But I’m telling you, the hot chocolate itself is enough. Try it and see for yourself.

WILL: Do you remember my post about the 18km morning walk for a breakfast? No? Please click this link below. Haha! Abbey is craving for a hot chocolate and he is feeling festive so we decided to get one of the best review hot chocolate in Singapore.. the Angelina at Marina Bay Sands. We walked for almost 4 hours. Great right?
Angelina is a French Cafe and they pride themselves on their hot chocolate. What can I say? Please continue on what you are doing with your creamy, smooth, not so sweet yet not bitter hot chocolate drink. They have a good partnering of black coffee and whip cream. I am awaken on this kind combination.
Their Éclair caramel beurre salé reminds me of eclair candy in the Philippines. Nostalgic and perfect to my black creamy coffee.
ABBEY: It was my birthday and Wilma came up with an unusual place for dinner: Coyote Ugly. We were there 5PM and yes it was way too early. Haha.
We got a plate of nachos and a jug of mojito. And for me Hawaiian Time Burger (comes with drink). The nacho is full of toppings and crunchy. My burger is a grilled chicken burger with cheddar and mayo which flows out of every bite and eating is almost messy. And I drown it all with two servings of the cocktail.
We left after 2 hours when the music grew loud as the bar comes to life. Signs of aging huh?

WILL: It’s Abbey’s birthday and we celebrated his birthday with one of his favourite comfort food. Burgers and fries at one of his unfamiliar place, a bar. Haha!
I saw very enticing $10 promotion of burgers & fries and $35 jug of Mojito. Oh please take note, their patty is wagyu beef! Yeahba!
How’s the taste? Of course not your fastfoods' burger. The patty is thick and vegetable inside is fresh! The bun is soft and dressing binds everything well! The fries is not a fresh cut potato but every piece has its crisp. The pitcher of Mojito will serve up to 8 glasses and damn!...it has a kick! Good to say it is not watered down.
The place is quite peaceful from 5-7 but when the clock passed 7 the music came to life and we can’t hardly hear each other. Well, the night just got started!
Will definitely come back and want to witness the coyotes to dance at the bar! This is a must visit, it is value for money!
