Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington at Bread Street Kitchen Singapore

ABBEY: There’s only one item we want from Bread Street Kitchen: Beef Wellington. The item is right at the center of the menu. You definitely can’t miss it.

We ordered it immediately as we sat down as the waiting time is 45 minutes minimum. While waiting, we got ourselves a huge serving of fries. Then the golden brown log of beef arrived.

We paced as we eat and savor the beef. It was tender and juicy. Worth the wait and highly recommended. Cost: SGD168++.

WILL: I have tasted this dish when we were invited over by Abbey’s Boss for a dinner. As a fan of breads and pastries I somewhat got curious how the tagged as the best beef Wellington tasted. So on my birthday, being spontaneous, we walked-in at Bread Street Kitchen and ordered the famous dish.

We waited for almost an hour (yep they warned us) and while waiting we are nibbling on the fries that is perfectly paired with their tomato ketchup. So the main dish arrived and it is pretty huge for me and Abbey. The taste? Divine! Meat is tender and even it is medium cooked, you can’t smell not taste blood from the meat or pastry. The pastry is flaky, such a nice pair with the meat!

Oh yeah, even it is huge size, Abbey and I manage to eat it all. Haha-happy tummy! Will surely come back for more beef Wellington!

CHEAPEST KOREAN BBQ & HOT POT EAT ALL YOU CAN IN ORCHARD ROAD SINGAPORE | Gangnam Story Korean Steamboat & BBQ

ABBEY: There came a time that I want to have a buffet. So Wilma granted it. We went to Gangnam Story Korean Steamboat and BBQ Buffet at Orchard Central. As usual we’re there on time. This was the time where the buffet items were being served to you as per pandemic protocol.
I enjoyed plates of beef, pork and chicken; marinated or not. But I liked pork the most. Also we had scallops and salmon slices. We also have hotpot for our soup.

We put pork and fish balls, and sausages. You can wash them all down with the free flow of juice, tea and coffee. And if you still have some space in your tummy you can enjoy a serving or two of chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

WILL: Abbey is craving for a bbq but sad to say that month all bbq pits were still closed due to the prevention measures of COVID-19. So after our Embassy visit, we went to Orchard Central to indulge on a hotpot plus bbq.

So what’s special with Gangnam Story? They have a variety of seafood for you, unlike others that typically offers meats. What is my favourite on Gangnam Wings? Salmon and scallops. The fatty salmon will definitely melt in your mouth. Pork, chicken, beef meats do not have this gunk unlike the other restaurants. Be careful on your Mala soup, it is numbingly spicy. The drinks and ice cream is included in the buffet!

If you are in Orchard and looking for an eat-all-you-can option, this is a good choice for you!

One Prawn and Co Noodle - MacPherson

ABBEY: We were looking for prawn noodles and we saw a post about One Prawn and Co. Next thing we know we’re already on a queue on their shop. We were told it’s a 45-minute wait by the time we arrived but we got our table a little more than 30 minutes. The server even proudly asked if it’s earlier than she estimated. Haha.

We had Lala and Small Prawns as well as Braised Pork Ribs and Small Prawns. Good things come for those who wait. The soup is delicious, full of flavours but not thick. You can taste the distinction between the pork and seashells. The spicy sauce is not too hot and is also sweet. We also had prawn beansprout cake and liver roll.

WILL: Our go to pork and prawn noodle house suddenly serves slimy prawns. We really do avoid those because it might trigger Abbey’s seafood allergies. So when we saw a post about One Prawn & Co, we didn’t hesitate and immediately look what bus should we ride to get there.

It is located at MacPherson Road and it is just a bus ride from our place. We were suprised to see a long queue but they assured us that it won’t last for more than an hour. So carry on! Haha!

Be informed that they are serving a separate bowl for the noodles and a claypot for their soups and meat/seafood. I ordered Lala and small prawn for some iodine fix. Taste is awesome! You will see some remnants of prawn coloring in its soup and lala were abundant in my claypot. Yum. The separate bowl also has a meager amount of soup that soaked the Kway Teow.

Well recommended. Surely on our list where to eat for our tourist friends.
