ABBEY: Sometimes, a relaxing day does not need much planning. A good massage, a little facial pampering, coffee, and some comfort food can already make a day feel special.
We visited Alami Spa for a much-needed massage and were lucky enough to visit during their soft opening, when they were offering a discount.
Our experience started with a refreshing welcome drink. It was so good that we actually asked for a second serving before our massage.
We booked a couple's room, which was convenient because it came with its own toilet and shower. After changing into our massage clothes, we immediately settled onto our massage tables and got ready to relax.
The massage itself was more intense than what I was used to. The masseuse did not rely only on her hands. She also used her elbows, knees, and arms to work on different areas of the body. It was quite a deep and intense massage, but it was exactly what my aching muscles needed.
My body definitely experienced a type of massage it was not accustomed to, but the relief afterward was worth it. I felt that the tension and soreness in my muscles had been worked out, leaving me feeling lighter and more relaxed.
Another nice surprise was that, aside from the discounted massage, we also received a couple of free drinks from the cafe beside the spa.
Overall, our visit to Alami Spa was a relaxing experience and a welcome break from our usual routine.
After our massage, we headed to Belo for a facial.
The facial treatment cost PHP 3,000 per person, with an additional PHP 3,000 consultation fee. Since it was our first visit, our profiles were created first. This included taking photos of our faces as part of the initial assessment.
We then proceeded with the facial treatment. It was fairly basic, covering the usual steps such as cleansing, extraction, and moisturizing.
While it was not an elaborate treatment, it was exactly the kind of basic facial care we needed at the time. My face felt noticeably lighter and cleaner after the session, making the treatment feel worthwhile.
Since we were already at TriNoma, we decided to walk around and check out some of the dining options.
We stopped by Harlan + Holden for a cup of coffee. The brand's clean and pristine white design is quite inviting and definitely catches your attention when you're walking around the mall.
However, our experience at the dining area was not quite as polished as the facade. The area was somewhat untidy during our visit. We noticed an overflowing bin, while some of the tables had used napkins and visible coffee cup marks.
The coffee was still enjoyable, but the cleanliness of the dining area was something we noticed during our visit.
We also dropped by Tokyo Tokyo for a quick meal. There were fewer customers during our visit, although it is difficult to say whether this was related to the food or simply the timing of our visit.
One thing we noticed was that some of the food portions seemed smaller compared with what we remembered from previous visits. The overall experience also felt different from what we had come to expect from the brand.
It made us think about how restaurant experiences can change over the years, especially when you have been visiting the same places for a long time.
Before ending our food trip around TriNoma, we spotted Yellow Cab's PHP 299 and Half-Moon deals, which immediately caught our attention.
We ended up getting the saucy Charlie Chan together with Four Cheese Pizza. It was a simple combination, but one that brought back memories.
The meal reminded us of our early dating days when we would spend time together over pizza and pasta. Sometimes, it is not necessarily the most elaborate meal that makes an experience memorable. Familiar food can bring back a lot of good memories.

| Belo Medical Group TriNoMa Quezon City branch interior |
From an Instagram-famous spa in Scout Chuatoco to a high-end facial at TriNoMa, here is our 100% honest review of how our QC date went—including total costs, what disappointed us, and what was surprisingly worth every peso.
Quick Day-Out Summary & Budget Breakdown
- Vibe: Relaxing, low-key, self-care date
- Location Focus: Scout Area & TriNoMa Mall, Quezon City
- Total Estimated Budget: ~₱4,745 per person
Stop 1: Alami Nature Spa (Scout Chuatoco, QC)
- Address: 161 Scout Chuatoco St, Quezon City
- What We Tried: 60-Minute Signature Hilot Massage (₱945)
Blame Instagram ads haha!
We kept seeing Alami Nature Spa on our feeds, so we decided to check it out.
The moment you walk in, the ambience is genuinely calming. They serve a welcome drink that is sweet, sour, and perfectly refreshing to cool down your body heat before the session starts.
Unfortunately, the massage itself didn't live up to the hype. When we compared notes afterward, our experiences with pressure, stroke techniques, and focus areas were completely inconsistent. For the price, we left feeling pretty disappointed. If you still want to visit for the aesthetic ambience, go before lunch. The hallways get noisy once peak afternoon hits.
Stop 2: Late Lunch & Nostalgia Eats at TriNoMa
- Address: EDSA cor. North Ave, Quezon City
- What We Tried: Tokyo Tokyo & Yellow Cab Pizza
We originally planned to eat near the spa at The Vibe QC, but the heat inside the restaurant was intense because it is al fresco only restaurant and the menu is not extensive that for sure won’t fill out hunger, so we made a last-minute call to head straight to the air-conditioned comfort of TriNoMa.
We settled on classics —Tokyo Tokyo and Yellow Cab. While it satisfied our hunger, the quality didn't quite hit the nostalgic standard we remembered from years ago.
💡 Tip: If you want a peaceful mall trip, TriNoMa is significantly less crowded than SM North EDSA on weekdays, making it much easier to walk around and grab a seat.
Stop 3: First Time at Belo Medical Group (TriNoMa)
- Address: Level 3, TriNoMa Mall
- What We Tried: Basic Facial Cleaning (₱3,000)
Our go-to budget facial spot (Let’s Face It) closed its TriNoMa branch, while walking along TriNoMa we saw Belo Medical Group and decided to go for it instead. Feeling artista na! Haha!
This was our very first time getting a service at Belo, and the experience was top-tier. The clinic was immaculate, the staff were incredibly professional, and I loved how the aesthetician respected my preference for silence during the procedure.
The downside? Paying ₱3,000 for a basic facial cleaning with no extra mask or add-ons is definitely steep.
Is a QC Pamper Date Worth It?
Despite a few misses with the massage and food quality, spending a quiet weekday roaming around Quezon City is always a fun reset. QC has so much ground to cover, and this definitely won't be our last time exploring the area!
