iLight Marina Bay 2012

ABBEY: This is the second year we went to the exhibit. What I like the most is the Merlion display. A white image of the Merlion is pictured in the TV and visitors are given two minutes to color it. Each color tapped and applied on any part of the image will be reflected on the statue. It was fun as it is interactive.

We also saw the light project of China, where red laser bordered a mirror and if you look at it, its as if you're being warped to a different space. The Hongkong light advertisement has a good catch also. You have to look at it then sideways abruptly to capture the image. Or better yet to shake you camera phone to the line of light. Another exhibit is a couple of beach beds that lights up and plays soothing sound when someone sits on it. Other displays use the voice and turbine technology for the lights to work.

We got also a 20sgd-light bulb from Philips as a prize for power saving tips.

WILL: iLight Marina Bay on 2012 is I think a great experience than 2011. This is more exciting and awesome. From the seats that produces up sounds to painting the Merlion
I will never know what will be up for next year, iLight keeps on amazes us.
Thanks iLight, thank you Marina Bay, thank you artist, architects.. Thank you Singapore, very informative celebration!

The Hunger Games

ABBEY:  From the time Wilma saw the movie trailer she wanted to watch it. We got a pair of tickets as a contest prize. The story is good as well as the acting. I think it resembles the Japanese movie Battle Royale where they force students to fight to the death until one remains. Anger, hope and love were depicted in the plot. Just can't imagine if Hunger Games will be real, I definitely wish to have the odds ever be on my favor.

WILL: The Hunger Games is a real craze on a big screen. I know this is from a trilogy novel. Thank you and happy birthday VA! hehe..
This movie is not a feel-good movie, not an action also, not a love-love story, I do not know where to categories this one but it gave a lesson how to bond with your family and how you will gain courage despite all the odds.
In this movie portrayed the ups and downs of life.. rich and poor. Rating? 7/10.

Tofu with Black Beans

4 pcs of tokwa (cubed and fried)
1 small can of black beans (tausi)
Garlic and onion

Saute the onion and garlic then put on the black beans. Estimate the saltiness as you put the black beans sauce. Put the tokwa. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve with hot rice.

VERDICT
WILL:  Well, this viand is one of my favorite but my Nanay hates it.. hahaha! Tofu is not good for her arthritis, but what can she do? I am always craving for anything made from soya beans. And she can't blame me because since birth due to lactose intolerance and allergic reaction on her breast milk, the doctor prescribed a soya milk.
Abbey got it right. Its like my Mom went here and cooked for me. Love it a lot! Thanks Bbey!
