Pablo Blau - 60-minutes Signature Salt Room Customised Facial

ABBEY: Another pampering session. Now it is for my face. Pablo Blau is a unique experience. They have this what they called Salt Room (salt everywhere from floor to the walls). They say this will help you detoxify upon inhaling the air in the room. Even the floor on facial room is covered with salt.

I can say my face got a really nice massage during the session and all the blackheads got rid off. After the cleaning process comes the moisturizing part. I think I got three layers of different cream applications and my face really glowed. Yey! I got more gwapo after that.

WILL: It’s been a year! A year of not having a good and satisfying facial! OMG! Glad I have bumped into Pablo Blau’s 60minute Customised Facial worth only $69.

There’s some conflict on booking but it was immediately resolved. Instead of 2PM we were rebooked by 11am same day. No fuss! Just went there to receive our face pampering.

Once you stepped in at Pablo Blau you will immediately feel the superbly relaxing ambiance of the place given by the cobalt blue color. Match up that blau (blue) with gold, it will give you a luxury atmosphere. Siggghh of relief.

Pablo Blau is unique. This is the only spa that you need to take of your shoes and change it to disposables. Why? Their treatment room is filled with salt. Yes! Salt! You will step in salt and their walls are covered with, of course, salt. Unique right? We all know that salt is used in many different ways since ancient times and Pablo Blau is harnessing that power for their services.

So how’s the facial experience? The therapist without hesitation lavishly put creams after creams and massage my face thoroughly. She pricked some of my white/blackhead using ultrasonic shovel and acne extractor. After the session, I really do feel the plump of my facial skin and my somewhat burnt forehead's dead skin got peeled off. They are correct! In just one session you will see and feel the difference.

The therapist is quite talkative. It is okay that she explains the products but she is talking about her life during the session. Whew! And she is pretty pushy. The facial treatment and the unique experience at the salt room is two thumbs up. I immediately recommended this to my friends to try.

Truefitt & Hill Barbershop in Singapore

ABBEY: Talking  about man-pampering, my wife gave me a makeover when we went to Truefitt and Hill Barbershop at Marina Bay Sands. You’ll be in Sherlock-time scene once you enter the shop.

My barber, Alam is very kind to give suggestions on how can I have a better look. “Alam” is a Filipino word which translates to “know”. Alam really knows his stuff. I got a great hairstyle, a trimmed and shaved beard and mustache.

Not only that, I also had the whole work; shampoo, cold and hot towels as well as a massage. I’m warning you all of these didn’t come cheap. They cost almost 200SGD. But it’s really worth the value for your money with the service and experience. Definitely putting this on my budget.

at Marina Bay Sands

WILL: Abbey always treats me to a salon. He does have a budget for my hair regimen every year. Hmmm, I do not have that budget. Why? Men are not so picky who will manage thair mane right? Well..WRONG! As part of Abbey’s 10th year celebration here in Singapore, I booked him to a barbershop that holds a Guinness Book Of Records of the oldest barbershop, the Truefitt & Hill.

Truefitt & Hill has a branch at Marina Bay Sands and Duke of Edinburgh — is one of the profiles they are serving. Wow! A Royal! Please free up a 2 hours of your day to enjoy the full experience of it. I can see that my husband is totally pampered that time.

A Royal Hair Cut SGD 75 and Shave SGD80. It is a total makeover and indeed a new look for him. Everybody was shockingly amazed on the transformation. Haha! Thanks Alam for making my husband so gwapo.

Damai Spa - Grand Hyatt Singapore

ABBEY: From time to time we need to unwind and get relaxed. So as part of our company's insurance we can avail wellness benefits which include spas. We booked at Damai in Grand Hyatt Singapore. We were given coconut juice before the session and a couple of minutes later we were ushered to our respective rooms. After telling me where to put my things, I took a shower. They have "Japan toilet". The one where the sit is warm and has high-end bidet system with only a push of a button.

The masseur is waiting for me to wash my feet and give them pre-massage. I was also asked what oil they should use. I picked the healing one as it smells relaxing and refreshing. And yes most of the session I'm asleep. The pressure is medium and it is ok for me, not a fan of hard massage. What I liked the most is the foot massage. They were aching before the massage, but after I felt like I'm walking on cushions.

The session ended with a cup of ginger tea so good that we asked for more. The next batch came in a teapot. :)

WILL: If you will search In the internet "Best Spas in Singapore" Damai Spa is always included. For my husband's birthday month, we got to check this out. Haha!

I booked for a 75-minute Classic Swedish Massage for $234.00 each person. Expensive? Yes it is. This is under Abbey's insurance benefits so we do not worry too much about the price. Thanks AETNA!

So when we entered the magnificent all wood reception we were immediately assisted to seat, gave us a freezing cold glass of coconut water and we waited for our masseurs. When they approached us, they guided us to our rooms. Gosh! The room is so huge and fancy. Ohh! I love their heated bowl seat. It is relaxing.

In bathrobe, I was welcomed with their foot bath and asked me what oil I want for massage. The massage starts. I requested for more pressure..of course and Ying's (my masseur's name) hand is like dancing on my back...then I fell on slumber. She got me back to reality when she asked me to lie on my back. :)

Well, the massage is well done. But I regret that I do not have a chance to try their facilities because of our lack of time.

When we were at reception I asked for a pot of their hot ginger tea. They gladly gave us a pot and 2 teacup. Love to stay in that relaxing place but we need to go for some errands.

Till next time Damai Spa of Grand Hyatt Hotel.

g.Spa Fitness and Recreation Hub - Spas/Beauty/Personal Care

ABBEY: Another freebie? Wow, yes please. Keep them coming. You are all welcome. Thanks Medhatter. This time I got a 60-minute full body massage worth 155SGD at g.Spa. It is located at 102 Guillemard road. We took MRT and alight at Mountbatten station.

I strongly advise that don't be fooled by their signage outside the building. They have more to offer aside from that. And what I mean by more is that they have good receptionist that will welcome you and ask for your need of service upon arrival. We were an hour late but still it only took us 15 minutes waiting time to have the massage.

The style of spa is like Wensha in Philippines, but more at par than Wensha.

You will be given a magnetic key for your locker and massage clothes. My masseur's name is Susan. She gave my muscles a "beating". I think I heard all the "crunchiness" left my body. I like the hand and feet massage the most. It is as if all the tired muscles got relaxed. After the massage, I proceeded to the dining area.

I first took a sip of wintermelon and pork rib soup. Next I got their menu for the day; chicken cutlet. It came with fries and coleslaw. I also took a bite of their dimsums even though they have shrimps. They were delicious. Wash them all with free flow of juice, coffee, or tea.

Total spa indulgence. Highly recommendable.

WILL: "Therefore, do not be deceived." That is the perfect tagline for gSpa. Or better "Do not judge the book by its cover" haha!

Abbey won a one (1) spa treatment from Medhatters and he threatens me not to redeem it if I will not come with him. Even it is a 24hour spa, we still made a booking 3 weeks before our targeted date.

A very unique foyer welcomed us. Three lovely ladies behind the concierge immediately accommodated us. Less than 10minutes we are both on our way to the spa rooms.

Because Abbey really pushed me to go with him, I look for ways to lessen the cost of this pampering session. AspirantSG threw a 15% off and free body scrub to his blog readers and I am too lucky to be one of first 10 reservation.

I requested for body scrub first before the massage. This is a trivia about myself. This is my only third time to have a body scrub in a spa. Why? I found it too expensive, my good reason. So, I just buy a sea salt scrub over the counter and do it for myself. Haha. Ok, back to the review. Xiao Rui mastered her craft. It seems that I am her baby that really need a deep cleaning. She kneaded and cleansed me by the strokes of her hand. I really hoped that time will never end.

Xiao Hui is the assigned masseur to me. That is the first time in my whole life that I have a hard massage. Her hand, knuckles and elbows know the exact point where my body aches. She stretched my body that unbelievably gave a cracking sound which I felt a kind of relief. When she told me that my session was done, I frowned. I want more haha!!! It is very relaxing.

2 hours of pampering, I am ready for filling up my tummy. Yep at a $155 package, it includes a buffet. Hey it is not an international buffet but in their menu for sure some of the food will satisfy your taste buds. What I love the most is their dim sums. I ate 8 servings of those.

There is also a rest area that you can seat on their couches watch movies, tv shows or just sleep.

It is really a wonderful experience. We already told our friends how good it is and they ensure us that they will try the service in there. :)

Spa Elements

ABBEY: It's been months since we had our last body massage. And good timing, my Citibank family gave me a complimentary massage at Spa Elements (Orchard MRT near Forever 21) which costs more than a hundred bucks. Visit with a friend, in this case, my "best friend", and can get the same treatment at 18sgd.

So we went there after office, filled up the form and then a couple of minutes later we're in the room with our own masseur. I chose the light intensity massage. But still I felt it was a deep tissue one. Every stroke on my back and neck is painful but the muscles were relieved of tension. Two questions came from my therapist; "When was your last massage?" and "Do you know how stiff your back is?" I just smiled knowing where will the conversation will go. Anyways, I'm happy with the service. It was really relaxing.

WILL: December!!! We still celebrate our bf/gf anniversary and for this year we went for a spa. Post-celebration but I know still worth it.

Friday. And all the people in Orchard Road were like ants roaming around in every shop. Abraham and I were on our way for some relaxation. As the Citibank Voucher indicates, Spa Elements is just near Forever 21(MRT). We walked found it few steps away from Poppeyes Restaurant.

I am so happy when I lay faced down on the bed. It has a heater. Warm bed makes me more relaxed and ready for some kneading. The masseur started the massage with medium pressure. She was hesitant to apply the deep tissue massage on me. So when I can't take the mildness of her touch, I blurted out to apply more pressure...and the enjoyment began.

Aching muscles soothes right away. All the clenched fiber of my body begin to loosen up. What a relief!

Definitely a recommendable place. We got Abbey's session for free from Citibank. They gave us the voucher on his birthday month and an $18 for one-hour massage for your tag-along person. Good right? That's why we love Citibank Singapore. So what are you waiting for? Apply your credit cards now. ;)

Spring Oasis – First-Class Health and Wellness Medical Spa

ABBEY: Once in while you have to give yourself a treat. For me and Wilma, we used to give ourselves a massage. We looked into online deals and we found an hour of body massage for 45sgd at Spring Oasis. It was on the 13th floor of The Forum at Orchard.

Please take note that this is not your regular spa clinic. No music, no perfume oils or candles. The place is white well-lit just like a medical clinic. I was asked to change clothes and lay down. Then the massage began. The therapist focused on my back and I slept in no time. I just woke up when I felt I'm being tapped.

It was good; I felt rejuvenated and my back muscles was relieved of stress. They got relaxed.

WILL: If you saw some of our posts last June in our blogs you will saw a gray bandage on my left hand. I was sprained and it hurts every time that part hit by a cool breeze. My body screamed for kneading but due to tight schedule, we only booked for it on 24th of July.

We were immediately served when we got at their place. I was asked to take off my clothes, hmmm.. no shower? I lay on my stomach. The masseuse asked me what part of my body is really painful. I raised my left hand and she started the massage from my neck down, to left arm down to my left wrist. While doing it, she explaied how painful it would be but she promised that after that session I will be relieved.

She lightly touched my whole back and ask if there is part that is in pain, I replied I do not have. She told that my muscles at the lower back were so stiff, then she pressed them using her elbow. I breathed heavily to relax screaming pressed muscle at the back. With her elbow she massage my buttocks. I think for a long 10 minutes she is there, reaching every veins of it. (after that session the numbness in my butt that I feel every day due to long day of sitting was gone).

She reached to my legs and on my tears now is on the verge of falling out from my eyes. It is really painful every time her elbow reached a muscle that I think I never knew existed in my body! And I also thought that maybe I have no more energy to walk myself home.

The session was finished minutes after an hour. I get up and I felt so light. Rejuvenated. Renewed!

They tell us the truth! They are not a spa, they are MEDISPA.

Very good experience! Very Recommendable!  You can reach them at 583 Orchard Road #13-01 Forum Tel: 67334108

RN Spa @ Holiday Inn Singapore

ABBEY: After a tiring but fulfilling week touring our Kuya and Ate here in Singapore, we rewarded our aching muscles with a 60-minute full body massage at RN Spa located at Holiday Inn.

We were an hour early for our appointment. We tried to ask if we can have it then but no masseur available and the staff let us use their comfortable seats at the relaxing lounge. At last the time came and we led to a separate room.

A couple of minutes later, we got changed and the massage started. It was very relaxing. I think I can even hear myself snoring. I apologize to the masseur for that but she told me its usual for the clients to sleep. I don't want to get up yet but time flew fast. We were served with ginger tea and delicious mung bean soup.

A great reward for a good tourist guide :)

WILL: 5-day vacation of my brother finally came to an end, and as experienced last year, our muscles sore after the F1 event. Maybe caused by the heat, sudden rain and a lot of long walks. Anticipating the ache again this year, we booked a whole body massage at RN Spa located at Holiday Inn Hotel in Orchard.

We alight at Somerset MRT station and arrived so early, 2 hours earlier than our schedule. As it was packed, we were not accommodated immediately but we were transferred to their relaxation lounge wherein a lazyboy is there for us to rest first. Oh, we were given a hot ginger tea while waiting. After watching some episodes of "Friends" we were asked by the 2 masseurs to follow them.

The room has a very good lighting. They can dim and flare the lights up, for somewhat privacy of their client in front of them.

All hail to their warm bed. At first I thought its the beddings or the towel but the warm continuous to flow from it and to my body, just from there really relaxes me.

As per request, I want a firm hand to massage my whole body, well the request was definitely given to me.

Thanks RN Spa for this experience. We will surely be coming back for a green tea massage.

The massage was from groupon, we bought it for only $28.00.

Spa de Earth at Ghim Moh Road

ABBEY: Spa de Earth's one-hour massage promo was posted in Deal.com.sg for 22sgd. It took no time for me to purchase the vouchers as Wilma is already complaining of muscle aches for a over a month. The establishment is located in Ghim Moh.

When we arrived we were asked to sign a owner-client agreement and what type of oil should be used; we chose the one for detoxification. Then we were guided to our rooms to change clothes for massage preparation. A couple of minutes I feel like I'm a dough that is being kneaded for bread. I felt the masseur's elbow run on my muscles; it was a hard massage but it was relaxing.

After that we had ear-candling. The session ended with a cup of hot ginger tea and I had a good night sleep.

WILL: Ghim Moh is known for the hawkers and me too know nothing about Spa de Earth until a deal was mailed to us. Pain at our back striked more often, and as we calculated, our last full body massage was last December 2012 at Wensha. Too delayed gratification, we decided to go buy and made an appointment soonest.

I am not yet a mother but we celebrated it, hehe. It is only few blocks away from our pad but we decided to take taxi due to the heat of the sun.
As we entered yhe second floor of the salon, the aroma of massage oil welcomed us. And the aching muscles started to relax.
As ordered to lie down facing the floor, the massage started. As usual I asked for harder kneading and the pressure was kept all the way till end of the session. We also have an candling too.
I was relieved but not satisfied. It seems my massuers did not hit the right points of my aching back.
That was May and now is July. My body is screaming for another massage but definetely if I will go to Spa de Earth,  I will request for Diana.. Abbey's masseur. :)

The Beauty Boutique Clementi - Foot Reflexology Service

ABBEY: We got a 1-hour foot spa-scrub-massage from StreetDeal.sg  and it will serviced by Beauty Boutique; a shop near Clementi MRT station. We were asked to sit on a lazy-boy type chair and a couple of minutes after our feet were soaked in warm water with herbs and tea.

After 30 minutes of dipping we were given a foot scrub. I felt that my feet were very well cleaned. Our feet were dried and oil was applied on to them as the massage started.

I enjoyed it as the masseur hit the aching part on my heel and I got relieved. It is as if I'm walking on very soft cushion after. Once in a while its worth pampering our feet; the reason why we can go from places to places.

WILL: Oh, we are so loving the deals now, its very near to our home. Only 4 bus stops away.
Abbey deserved all the relaxation the world can give. He is a great husband the woman can have. Ayyyiiiieeee!
After alighting in front of Clementi Mall, we just walked a few stalls then we arrived at this red, red stall... The Beauty Boutique. We were not there to accentuate our beauty but to relax our very tired feet.
Immediately an usher assisted us and felt the comfort o the seats offered. She asked us is we want to upgrade our voucher for $5, we agreed, then a tea bag was soaked together with our feet. In a hot water for 10minutes, my feet was relaxed and the tensed muscles started to calm, they scrub my foot up to knees, washed the scrub down, the kneading began.
As usual I requested for a hard massage. My foot aches was directly hit by their professional hands. The more they pressed, the more I feel the relief.
They have some promotions but unlike other salon, they are pushy for you to grab their offers.
The salon is very clean and the masseurs are very kind.
Thank you to StreetDeal.sg for this offer!

Tiger Balm - ACTIVE Muscle Rub

ABBEY: We got this Tiger Balm product from one of the contest that we joined.

Whenever my feet is aching, I'll wash them and dry and apply the muscle rub. Put ample amount on the area. It's cold upon application. You will feel no heat after but it relieve your feet from tiredness and fatigue. It's recommended to apply before bedtime.

WILL: Thank you so much Her World Singapore for giving away a  hamper of Tiger Balm products an one of those is the ACTIVE Muscle Rub. I am not fan of this cream before but once Abbey told me that it he felt an immediate relief from its heel pain.
When I got an sore muscles at my right triceps, Abbey told me to put on some of the cream, anyway there is no harm on trying it, so I nod then he rubbed it on the affected area. It is kind of instant relief.
I super like this non-greasy cream. Available at Watsons, Guardian.

BongKod Traditional Thai Foot Spa

ABBEY: We got this traditional Thai foot reflexology on Groupon at less than 20sgd per person. Bongkod Thai Foot Spa is located at Ang Mo Kio.

Upon reaching the establishment we were welcomed by their staff and asked us to get ready for foot wash and scrub. Once finished we were given a very comfy-kingly chair. It was very relaxing. The masseur put warm towel on our feet and immediately started the session. The ointment/cream applied to our feet is non-greasy and really soothes our tired feet; and it has a good aroma. Upon ending the session they gave us a relaxation tea.

WILL: Thai Massage yes but foot spa?, this is my first time. Bongkod Traditional Thai Foot Spa was located at Ang Mo Kio just behind a wet market, very accessible to the residence along the area. We bought this package for $18.00 at Groupon and immediately redeemed the voucher.
Once we stepped our feet in their haven, they immediately accommodate us, asked to sit in the middle of the room to wash our tired feet, then we followed and sat to our assigned seat. All of of the people beside us is sleeping while their masseurs were busy striding their fingers on their feet.
They handed as the hot ginger tea, and soaked my foot on a warm water with tea then my body completely gave in.. Relaxed.
The masseurs came then started the 60mins session. Gosh, really, they are hitting the painful spots. Relief and relaxed and sleepy, that was I felt after they took off their hands off my feet.
They have a very friendly staff. Try here, they have also a $10.00 package when we got there,  Very recommendable place.

Kneipp Foot Bath Crystals

ABBEY: These are my feet's best buddy when they're tired and aching. Put warm water on a basin and mix in the crystals. Soak your feet and feel them revitalized. The product has a pleasant, relaxing aroma too. It's like you're having a foot spa at the comfort of your own home.  We got this one as prize on an online contest.

WILL: Salt was known for their antiseptic property so why not incorporate them at footbaths. This is one many products Kneipp gave Abbey when he won a $20 voucher.
This is a nice bottle to have. You don't need to go somewhere to soothe your swelling feet, in the comfort your own home, you can soak away all the pain that your feet feels.
The aroma of this salt filled our room and give an extra relaxing aura. Thanks Kneipp for this organic foot crystals. Visit the Guardian Paragon branch for more info on Kneipp products.

Miracle by Nature

ABBEY: Wilma is complaining about her tired feet. Good thing that we have a Groupon voucher for a 60-min foot massage in Miracle by Nature. The establishment is located at Blk 431 Clementi Ave. near Clementi MRT station. All I can say is that the session is great. As this is my first on a foot reflexology I'm not aware how will they massage this least-rewarded body part. They started on tips of each toe ending with heels. The session also included a 20-min dry back massage. This is good experience. I felt I'm walking in the clouds after we finished.

WILL: I need some knead. You read it right "need" not "want". I have an aching and very tensed muscles this past few weeks. It is more than 2 months since the last last visit to masseurs and Groupon is just in time when they release this discount for foot reflex.
Miracle by Nature was just 2 minutes walk from Clementi Mall. We headed there after office hour and sunk ourselves to their couches and massage bed.
60 minutes the Korean Pop look-a-like boy massage my feet. Damn, he really hit all the aching spots. There is a moment that I was gasp for air for the extreme pain I felt when he pinched my right foot lower side. After that foot reflex, we were offered a lukewarm water then headed our way to a massage bed for 20 mins of back kneading. This is my first time that a man will massage my back, anyway I do not give any damn about it, haha, more pressure please. Well, he don't use his hands, he used his elbows, FTW!
After the session, I really felt that I am totally pampered...relaxed. The excruciating pain in every step, now was gone. Have a lighter feeling now. :)
Miracle by Nature has a very nice deals also, you can check with Michael through 67766992.

Lifespa at Orchard

ABBEY: We got this deal in deal.com.sg for less than 56sgd for both of us. The deal comes with 1-hour deep tissue massage and thermal fusion. I can say that the service is good and staffs are accommodating. I felt relaxed and invigorated after the therapy. Nice shower room :)

WILL: Bathed under the sun, perspire a lot, and stressed from December 2011 up to early April, isn't these were enough reasons for us to get a good massage? Hmmm?
Well, we bought vouchers for Luxespa and for an offer for 28$ for 60min massage with thermal fusion. Great deal ha!
We showered before the spa, they provided a free locker and free disposable underwear and hairnets. The massage just fine but the thermal fusion is the best! Lovely, we will be back here if we need some more kneading. Hehe. ;)

Real Yoga

ABBEY: I was hesitant to attend our first yoga session. I know I'll have a hard time on that day. We were scheduled for a Yoga Stretch in the morning. The place is at Centerpoint mall near Somerset MRT station. Once in the room we saw our sessionmates getting warmed up. I have no idea what'll I do so I waited for our instructor, Master Manoj.

Yoga mat, face and bath towel were provided for the session. Water is free but bring your own bottle. I admit it, first time of yoga for me is difficult. But is also fulfilling as I put myself to strive hard to do the activity. We had to cancel our next session since our bodies still ache from the stretch. I hope I can continue to do yoga in the future.

WILL:  Ahm, I do yoga way back in Philippines. Almost every saturday I perspire doing this at home but when I got here, hmmm, I feel so lazy to do it. So sad!
Then groupon offered a Yoga voucher for $15 for 4 60-minute session, I really asked Abbey, oh wrong choice of word, I forced him to accompany me haha. Do we bought to vouchers.
After Philippine vacation I hurriedly booked for a stretch yoga at 7:45. OMG after a year of not doing any yoga position, I can do the positions but nit fully stretched.
I do not sweat a lot because the room is quite cool but hey that afternoon I really feel that all my muscles were aching that even laughing makes my tummy hurt a lot! Oh, I wanna do Yoga more. I miss that pain. Haha.
Real Yoga can be found at Orchard Road few steps away from Somerset MRT station. The studio, mat, towels, shower room is very clean. If you want to try yoga, here will be a great start! Anyways, thanks to Manoj. :)
