Bornga (Original Korean Taste) at VivoCity

ABBEY: We have dined in at Bornga Korean restaurant at Vivo City for lunch after a book hunt at Logos Hope. Feeling that I won and got my prized books, I ordered Chadol Duenjang Jigae. It will be prepared to you by their chef at your table. Unfortunately, I said yes when he asked me if chilli should be added. I'm not that a fan of chilli as my tongue gets numb and I'm not able to taste the food. The chandol taste sour and spicy; maybe its because of the kimchi.

We were also given small bowls of side dishes like soy sprouts and anchovies. It was a new experience to have dined in a Korean restaurant. Next time I'll try their bulgogi.

WILL: After our hunt for discounted price books of Left Behind Series at Logos Hope, we decided to splurge on our lunch. It was the 2nd day for 2014 Chinese New Year holiday and we understand that almost all of restaurants will be packed by hungry people. We set our foot at Bornga. Well, I have a craving for Korean cuisine for that day and Bornga will be perfect.

I asked for Dolsot Bibimbap. They poured in a complimentary bottmless hot tea and the side dishes starts settling on our table. I was so shocked that was really a lot! I jokingly told to the server that the side dish can fill my tummy and hope that I just ordered a steamed rice, haha.

Dolsot bibimbap is very good specially partnered with kimchi. Oh, I love kimchi a lot.

This is a very recommended place to dine. The place is very relaxing and the attendants are very accommodating.

Thanks a lot Bornga Team, you made our holiday so great!

BonChon Chicken Singapore @ Bugis+

ABBEY: We have tried BonChon at their Trinoma mall branch in Quezon city. The place was jam-packed as it is also small. The one they had at Bugis+ mall is bigger. We had a lunch there after visiting Vince. We got a couple of order of wings good for 3. The sauce is mixture of soy garlic and spicy.

Heads up, waiting time will definitely test your patience. But with Wilma and Vince as companion, we never ran out topics to talk to. With occasional follow-up"s" (yes with an s), our order was served.

The chicken is crispy and the sauce has been absorbed by the meat and not too greasy. I'm not ashamed to lick my fingers as the really stood out. With a bowl of hot, slightly-sticky rice I indulged and had my fill during that lunch.

WILL: Lunch with VA, we saw BonChon just near his place.. Bugis+, and I declared for us to dine there. Ahehe!

We ordered wings and drumsticks. Once our tummy starts grumbling, our food came in. Bite and a crackling sound resonates around my brain! Shocks this is so crispy. Crispier and tastier than the Philippines' BonChon. Really way far from the tastes we had at Trinoma.

No words can describe the happines we had after dining here. :) Please give it a try..

Carnivore at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

ABBEY: We passed by this restaurant a couple of times in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. As the name implies they cater meat; red or white; be it fish, chicken, beef, pork and mutton. I saw their add for 1-for-1 buffet lunch. Since that time I start thinking when can we have lunch there since Wilma is always in the office at that time.

Lo and behold, the opportunity presented itself when we visited ArtScience Museum. It was jam-packed but its nice we were given a table even we didn't made a reservation. I started with spring roll, chicken sausage, and rice. Their rice is flavorful and soft; just the way I like it. After that I always ask the to give me a slice of what they offer. The beef is very tasty and moist. As lunch time is about to end I feasted on grilled white tuna. I think I finished 6-7 pieces. Its very delicious.

The buffet starts at 34sgd. The staffs welcome the guests warmly.

WILL: We are a trying hard herbivore, ahm should I mean vegetarian. If you will see our push cart in Sheng Siong every week, you will see a lot green vegetables were inside. This is for healthier us, healthier...together forever. Ha!

Abbey told me that we will have our lunch date at Carnivore at Marina Bay Sands The Shoppe, hesitant of the price but who am I to resist? He planned this, this is his day.

Upon seeing the poster, gosh, their buffet lunch is 1-for-1 so we will only pay $17 each. :)

Now, I am here to meet all the meat!!! Fish, pork, beef, and mutton is present. This is the only buffet I gone through that I do not need to come back and forth at their table, the have those roving passadors that will ask if you want the meat they carry. My favorite and very unforgettable is their roasted beef, so soft that you can say it melts in your mouth. I have 5 rounds of their salmon, soft and this salmon really carries the natural oil of it.

We will surely come back here. All the staffs were very friendly. Roving passadors seems never been tired of walking and slicing the meats in front of their guests. Oh, please make a reservation or see yourself on a long queue.
