National Steps Challenge™ Season 3 by Health Promotion Board

ABBEY: Yey! We got our new step tracker (Careeach) from Health Promotion Board for 5.5SGD. The goal is to walk at least 10,000 steps.

The new device can give information about the number of steps, obviously. Aside from that, it shows the distance as well as the calories burnt. It looks like Fitbit watches and I find it difficult to charge as it take too much space in the USB hub. Other than that, it looks cool and elegant.

To health and wellness.

National Steps Challenge™ Season 3 by Health Promotion Board
Careeach Step Tracker

WILL:
We joined the Health Promoto Board's National Steps Challenge on its first wave. There is nothing wrong with the mechanism of the step counter but it just pops out of its holder. Yes, we lost the counter but the bracelet remained. Haha.

We received an email to join the steps challenge in wave 3. We paid only $5.50 for the device, how cool was that? It doesn't require any cord, you can directly plug and re-charge it on any USB port.

I can see that I only got 7k+ steps everyday and as usual, we challenge ourselves to hit 10k everyday. We created more activities like running and newly added to our list is cycling. We do that every night (if Abbey's schedule permits).

Thanks Singapore's HPB! More and more challenges to conquer! Yahoooo!

Oh! The app can track your calorie intake everyday. Please download the Healthy 365 for you to find out more.

10k Steps Challenge - National Steps Challenge Singapore

ABBEY: We registered in Heath Promotions Board's National Steps Challenge. Aside from getting a step tracker, we also want to know if we can meet the 10,000-steps-a-day.

First two days I'm not able to reach the target. But on the third day I was surprised when I clocked 10k steps. It was an accomplishment for me. Since that day, I was aiming for the goal as I've already did it. I'm hoping and trying my best to be on top of it.

WILL: Singapore never fails to make their health projects a fun thing to do.

We are very interested on their National Steps Challenge program and we are so glad to know that we can join it. We download the Healthy 356 app, registered, and collected our step tracker for only $5. You can get this tracker here.

As soon as we  we paired our trackers with our phones, the competition between me and my husband began. Haha. Well, as of now, I already redeemed the first tier. Abbey? Nahh!! Haha.

Thanks Health Promotion Board. We enjoy your program. :)

Nike Flyknit Airmax 2014 - His and Her Shoes

ABBEY: My classmates during my elementary days used to discuss and boast about their shoes. That was the time Airmax was added in my vocabulary. But still I'm not keen on buying one since that was too expensive. Being blessed and having some change to spare, I got the red 2013 Airmax; very comfortable.

So as a gift to Wil, I planned to buy her a pair. Only I came to know when I was about to buy that they have released their Flyknit version. Since the 2014 airmax color is pale, I ended up buying Flyknit with the striking colors :) She was surprised but I got the more of it when I went home and saw I have my own. Still the same comfort is there but more air and lightness on the shoes.

WILL: I am puzzled when Abbey always tells me that his 2013 airmax gave him a such comfort and he suggested that I should buy one in replacement of my 2 year old running shoes. I affirmed the idea but I know that I am not ready to splurge on things like this.

Before Hearts' day of 2014 came, husband gave me the 2014 Nike Flyknit Airmax. Instead to give thanks, face-to-face asked him how much it costs, he answered "Mura lang.". Then I say my thank you after his response.

Everytime I wear my new shoes, Abbey always admires the color. And I really sensed that he likes to have one too. Haha!

The Beauty Boutique Clementi - Foot Reflexology Service

ABBEY: We got a 1-hour foot spa-scrub-massage from StreetDeal.sg  and it will serviced by Beauty Boutique; a shop near Clementi MRT station. We were asked to sit on a lazy-boy type chair and a couple of minutes after our feet were soaked in warm water with herbs and tea.

After 30 minutes of dipping we were given a foot scrub. I felt that my feet were very well cleaned. Our feet were dried and oil was applied on to them as the massage started.

I enjoyed it as the masseur hit the aching part on my heel and I got relieved. It is as if I'm walking on very soft cushion after. Once in a while its worth pampering our feet; the reason why we can go from places to places.

WILL: Oh, we are so loving the deals now, its very near to our home. Only 4 bus stops away.
Abbey deserved all the relaxation the world can give. He is a great husband the woman can have. Ayyyiiiieeee!
After alighting in front of Clementi Mall, we just walked a few stalls then we arrived at this red, red stall... The Beauty Boutique. We were not there to accentuate our beauty but to relax our very tired feet.
Immediately an usher assisted us and felt the comfort o the seats offered. She asked us is we want to upgrade our voucher for $5, we agreed, then a tea bag was soaked together with our feet. In a hot water for 10minutes, my feet was relaxed and the tensed muscles started to calm, they scrub my foot up to knees, washed the scrub down, the kneading began.
As usual I requested for a hard massage. My foot aches was directly hit by their professional hands. The more they pressed, the more I feel the relief.
They have some promotions but unlike other salon, they are pushy for you to grab their offers.
The salon is very clean and the masseurs are very kind.
Thank you to StreetDeal.sg for this offer!

BongKod Traditional Thai Foot Spa

ABBEY: We got this traditional Thai foot reflexology on Groupon at less than 20sgd per person. Bongkod Thai Foot Spa is located at Ang Mo Kio.

Upon reaching the establishment we were welcomed by their staff and asked us to get ready for foot wash and scrub. Once finished we were given a very comfy-kingly chair. It was very relaxing. The masseur put warm towel on our feet and immediately started the session. The ointment/cream applied to our feet is non-greasy and really soothes our tired feet; and it has a good aroma. Upon ending the session they gave us a relaxation tea.

WILL: Thai Massage yes but foot spa?, this is my first time. Bongkod Traditional Thai Foot Spa was located at Ang Mo Kio just behind a wet market, very accessible to the residence along the area. We bought this package for $18.00 at Groupon and immediately redeemed the voucher.
Once we stepped our feet in their haven, they immediately accommodate us, asked to sit in the middle of the room to wash our tired feet, then we followed and sat to our assigned seat. All of of the people beside us is sleeping while their masseurs were busy striding their fingers on their feet.
They handed as the hot ginger tea, and soaked my foot on a warm water with tea then my body completely gave in.. Relaxed.
The masseurs came then started the 60mins session. Gosh, really, they are hitting the painful spots. Relief and relaxed and sleepy, that was I felt after they took off their hands off my feet.
They have a very friendly staff. Try here, they have also a $10.00 package when we got there,  Very recommendable place.

Kneipp Foot Bath Crystals

ABBEY: These are my feet's best buddy when they're tired and aching. Put warm water on a basin and mix in the crystals. Soak your feet and feel them revitalized. The product has a pleasant, relaxing aroma too. It's like you're having a foot spa at the comfort of your own home.  We got this one as prize on an online contest.

WILL: Salt was known for their antiseptic property so why not incorporate them at footbaths. This is one many products Kneipp gave Abbey when he won a $20 voucher.
This is a nice bottle to have. You don't need to go somewhere to soothe your swelling feet, in the comfort your own home, you can soak away all the pain that your feet feels.
The aroma of this salt filled our room and give an extra relaxing aura. Thanks Kneipp for this organic foot crystals. Visit the Guardian Paragon branch for more info on Kneipp products.

Miracle by Nature

ABBEY: Wilma is complaining about her tired feet. Good thing that we have a Groupon voucher for a 60-min foot massage in Miracle by Nature. The establishment is located at Blk 431 Clementi Ave. near Clementi MRT station. All I can say is that the session is great. As this is my first on a foot reflexology I'm not aware how will they massage this least-rewarded body part. They started on tips of each toe ending with heels. The session also included a 20-min dry back massage. This is good experience. I felt I'm walking in the clouds after we finished.

WILL: I need some knead. You read it right "need" not "want". I have an aching and very tensed muscles this past few weeks. It is more than 2 months since the last last visit to masseurs and Groupon is just in time when they release this discount for foot reflex.
Miracle by Nature was just 2 minutes walk from Clementi Mall. We headed there after office hour and sunk ourselves to their couches and massage bed.
60 minutes the Korean Pop look-a-like boy massage my feet. Damn, he really hit all the aching spots. There is a moment that I was gasp for air for the extreme pain I felt when he pinched my right foot lower side. After that foot reflex, we were offered a lukewarm water then headed our way to a massage bed for 20 mins of back kneading. This is my first time that a man will massage my back, anyway I do not give any damn about it, haha, more pressure please. Well, he don't use his hands, he used his elbows, FTW!
After the session, I really felt that I am totally pampered...relaxed. The excruciating pain in every step, now was gone. Have a lighter feeling now. :)
Miracle by Nature has a very nice deals also, you can check with Michael through 67766992.

Scholl Flip Flops

ABBEY: Scholl foot powder works well for me. So I decided to try they footwear also. For a price of almost 100sgd I can say that it is expensive. Good thing is that the slippers give me comfort when I wear them. I hope they can have more design for men.

WILL: What i know about scholl? Well, i knew they have products for foot care and I was delighted to see that they launched a flip flops. Guys, guys, guys this flip flops were not just an ordinary like others, it has a special form that can correct the foot posture.
At first, it gives me an uncomfortable sensations on my sole, but now...my feet adopted well with its new Scholl buddy. Unique and fashionable. 99$ for a pair :)

Adidas Running Shoes

ABBEY: Basic requirement for jogging is RUNNING shoes. I bought the one used for basketball, and later I got blisters. Now the old one has worn out, she insisted to buy a new pair. We went to Adidas. They have their new design, the one with comfort heel to support your heel while landing and also breathable. Running is a breeze. The shoes is light as you run and also light in your pocket. A pair is 175sgd.

WILL: In preparation to run we bought rubber shoes. I am totally satisfied with the comfort of Adidas rubber shoes brought to my feet. I used this brand since i am on High School. So when we are looking for Abbey's new running shoes, I eyed for Adidas.
Thankful for its quality and comfort.

Mary Chia - The Beauty & Slimming Specialist

Abbey:
Wilma told me to book a schedule for manicure and pedicure before our wedding. My feet took me to NEX mall again. I inquired in 2 or 3 services but they're all fully booked. I found Mary Chia at the 3rd floor. They are free on my preferred time. 150SGD will include couple manicure and pedicure,  and foot spa with massage. Wilma enjoyed the massage very well. Her feet were aching and its a relief to have that massage.

WILL: I need something blue, and I decided that it will be my toenails. Abbey set an appointment of 730pm to Mary Chia NEX Branch. The foot massage is so great, i can even sleep in their couch. The manicure and pedicure?, it will be my first and last.

ROBE DI KAPPA SINGAPORE

ABBEY:
Not that a fan of signature products but you can't resist if they drop the prices very low. Also, its time for me to buy a new pair of shoes. As we stroll along Vivo, we saw it, looked at the designs, asked for available size, and voila, I have my Kappa shoes.

WILL: San KAPPA? My first encounter to this shop was when I am in China. Then here, last December at Vivo. They marked down their prices to 50SGD per pair. A 1-1 deal. We are looking for a nice shoes then for Abbey when we saw that banner.
Very good deal.

Crocs

ABBEY:
Well, what can I say? Nagkaroon lang ako nito nung nagkatrabaho ako. Una, hindi naman importante sa akin ang tatak. Pangalawa, nun lang ako nagka-pera. Pero come to think of it, all my crocs were gifts. :) Nung una ko siyang sinuot, aba, amazing. Malambot sa paa. Iba ang tapak kesa sa "Beach Walk" ko. It gives you comfort, and good foot-support.

Kaya lang hindi naka-iwas ang paa ko sa kagat ng crocs. I wore the pair then I go to a mall. I felt there's much friction between my feet and the slippers. Look and behold, I saw blisters on each foot. Pero ok lang, ganun naman talaga kapag bago ang gamit. Now, I'm getting used to it. Thank you Wil, for the crocs.

WILL: Despite of all the issues about the accidents in wearing these footwear, we still bought some last 2009 when they have their annual sale in Megatent Ortigas. I bought a black shoes ( I forgot the name of the design) and gray & white flipflops.
For flipflops what can I say?, it is perfect. While the shoes? ayun, it bit my foot, resulting into a blister. I bought some Dr. Scholl's to prevent the friction.
I can recommend the flipflops but not the shoes. Kaya last September, when crocs announced their 80% sale at Suntec City. We bought another set of tsinelas. :)

Folded and Hung Flip-Flops

Abbey: Ok ang F & H na brand, maganda sana sa paa, pag hindi lagi-lagi ang gamit. Parang Adidas, feet-you-wear. At tulad ng paa, hindi ka rin pwedeng mag barefoot ng matagal. Magpapaltos ang paa :) We we're surprised nung parang natunaw yung rubber. Masyado nang nabigatan sa akin, kaya lumubog na siya. Hahaha. All in all ok talaga siya for buy 1 take 1. Sana may promo ulit na ganito.

Will: Wow, Buy One, Take One. I am a big fan of F&H. Bought long sleeves of Abbey here and got some polo shirts from this shop. When I saw their advert. Talagang napasugod ako with Ma'am Anne sa Mall of Asia just to buy this stuff.

Constant wearing of this slippers, napapansin ko masakit sya sa heels and I thought ako lng ang ganun, until one day si Abbey nabanggit sa akin na masakit heels nya pag yung Folded and Hung ang suot nya. Actually malambot sya pero we can't bear yung stress na nagagaling sa heels.

We decided to wear it na lng paminsan-minsan. So nung pre-nup yun ang suot namin. Nung sinugod na namin sa water sa Marina Barrage, ayun! Look on the pic above, parang naluto yung mismong naapakan ng paa nmin ni Abbey.

Wala na kami magawa, kundi wag gamitin.
