Embark on a Flavorful Journey with Singalicious BBQ Buffet at The Orchard Cafe! 🇸🇬🤤 Up to 58% Off 2nd Diner!

ABBEY: As we celebrate Singapore National Day, we headed down to Orchard Cafe at Orchard Hotel where a Singalicious buffet awaits us.

So much of local foods to indulge. I had multiple servings of pork and chicken satays, roasted pork and beef, shrimp, steamed chicken, tandoori chicken, briyani rice, carrot cake, kueh pie tees, ondeh ondeh cake and durian pengat. It was a feast of flavors; savory, sweet, salty, and spicy. I kept coming back for more.

WILL: Orcard Cafe is in Orchard Hotel. Obviously right? Haha! Every month of August most of restaurants here in Singapore is offering the local cuisines, and well that is our cue to indulge endlessly with Singapore delightful food!

I specifically chose Orchard Cafe to indulge with their famous Durian Penget. And every table, you will definitely see not only one but more than 2 penget per person. The chef keeps on refilling the station of this delectable dessert.

Next food to tick off is Chili Crab with fried Mantou. Again, it ia delicious but it is a bit messy for me to eat. I indulged too with their pork satay partnered with rice and washed it fown with a hot tea.

This is definitely worth it. They are continuously giving promotions for every second diner, so just watch out for their next dining deals!

Counter Seating Kaunta Seki at Mitsuba Japanese Cheap Buffet - The Central Clarke Quay

ABBEY: As Christmas is nearing, me, Wilma and Chat planned our buffet Christmas dinner at Mitsuba.

And we got the best seat in the house; a bar seat (in front of the chef). We didn’t waste a minute and we immediately ordered via iPad all the Chef’s Choice items like Sashimi Moriawase (the swordfish is so tender), Sake Mentai Aburi, Ikura Sushi, Spider Temaki, and Wagyu Bifu Maki. My repeat orders are roast pork belly (yaki buta), ebi tempura, smoked duck (oh the layer of fat melts in your mouth), and Meltique Bifu (beef slice with garlic and salt). They also have ice cream; chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and lychee flavors.

There are hundreds of choices so be sure to keep the orders coming but in moderation. I can say that we’ll definitely be back to this restaurant.

WILL: Mitsuba is one of the renowned sushi buffet here in Singapore. If you’ll check the online reviews and the long queue outside their restaurant, you’ll be curious and persuaded to check and book a table with them. And I am one of the proud victim of my own curiosity. Haha. I purposely indicated that we want to be sitting in front of the chefs, and we were granted with our request. What is the pero of that? You can see them do their masterpieces and your order is super fast that they will just hand it out to you. No to a long waiting time.

So how was it? I have told to Abbey, that is is a bank for the buck! The price of $56.90++ is totally worth it. We’ll be saving our 2 dinner trips in a sushi conveyor belts to eat here in Mitsuba. What you should not skip (sashimis are given) Spider and Unaki Temaki, Dobinmushi, the crunchy and melt in your mouth Yaki Buta, Ika Geso and Salmon Skin.

Will surely coming back here and of course still requesting Mitsuba for counter seating. See you there!

Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ

ABBEY: After a day of conference for the Institute of Blockchain Singapore’s launch, Alvin (CEO and founder) gave the volunteers a dinner. It was at Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ (The Central).

They have sushi, sashimi, satays, laksa, pasta, fish fillet, chilli crab, soup and rice. The Mongolian BBQ taste great; depends greatly on your preference of sauce like garlic or sesame oil. I prefer chicken though. The beef is hard to chew even though the slices are thin. Coffee, soda, and juices are also included.

Institute of Blockchain Singapore with Volunteers and NEM Singapore

WILL: I just volunteered to help whatever I can on Institute of Blockchain Singapore official launch event and  it ended up with this; Two NEM personnel became speakers, one panellist and a photographer. Oh! You can see me at the registration too! Haha! To talk more about future collaborations, Alvin Chua invited NEM team for a dinner. Woootwooot! Thanks IBS Boss!

I know that if it is Mongolian cuisine, there will be someone who will cook for you, but I am not expecting to have a huge wheel like plain flat iron.

Anyways, what is the best? I will go for their mushroom soup with freshly baked bread on top. It is filling. Sorry I didn’t try their mongolian cooked food. Their chili crab is so-so. Their mussels is too salty. But I enjoyed the prawns and sushi plus non-stop talking with the IBS volunteers!

Karma is always around. It is a boomerang! You do one good thing, well, it will come back to you in three-folds!

More good karma to you Alvin and whole IBS! Till the next launch abroad!

StraitsKitchen (Halal Dinner Buffet) at Grand Hyatt Singapore

ABBEY: At Straits Kitchen was where Wilma’s company held their send off to her. The food choices here is great. They have Indian, Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisines.

I got sushi and sashimi for starter. Then I indulged myself with tandoori chicken, satays, fish and shrimp. I don’t know what happened but I got full in short amount of time but it seems I haven’t eaten much.

I tried their durian ice cream and I need to get the hang of it. All I can say is that I’m not a fan yet.

This hotel restaurant is definitely recommended.

WILL: Rejoice threw a farewell party for me and it was celebrated at StaitsKitchen in Grand Hyatt Singapore.

You will think, oh it is just a local food! Nothing's new! WRONG! This is higher level of hawker food!

What I love the most? Their chilli crab! The spiciness is just enough to blow your tastebuds! Next, the laksa. Laksa's soup is thick! Oh my! If I can only bring 5 of those home! Hahaha. Then, the desserts are amazingly tasty. The coconut toppings on it and the sweetness makes me comeback and stuff it all in my mouth. Haha. Gluttony! And before I forgot, thank you for the unlimited mangosteen. Haha! My favorite fruit.

If you have friends or business associates visiting Singapore, this is a must-dine buffet!

Yummmmy!

The Café - Dinner Buffet, Hyatt City of Dreams Manila

ABBEY: This is where we dined upon arriving in Philippines. The Cafe is beside City of Dreams casino and a strong cigarette smell will welcome you but it will lighten as you went in the restaurant.

It has a wide variety of food. They have sushi, sashimi, siomai, pork ribs, tempura and dumplings. They also have pasta, noodles, seafoods and sinigang na salmon. I made my version of halo-halo (banana, crushed ice, milk and leche flan on top). Cheese and cold cuts were also available.

What I liked the most is the item at their carvery: roasted beef. It is tender and juicy and can be eaten on its own or with cracked mustard and other sauces.

The Café - Dinner Buffet, Hyatt City of Dreams Manila

WILL: Abbey and I planned to have a House Of Abbey meeting at The City of Dreams' The Cafe, but due to unforeseen circumstances the head of construction department can't make it, so we just laughed and enjoyed the food.

Our flight was delayed and happy to say that The Cafe's receptionist were quite attentive in taking our last minute changes. We arrived a little bit late on the reserved time.

On the restaurant ambiance, you can feel that you are in an lavish place. Dim lights, cosy chairs and thick spoon and fork. Very good for a dinner-date indeed!

On food, quite an array of choices and do not forget to eat a load of their beef at the carving area, their pork ribs and siomai! Oh my! Pasta, go for white sauce and cool off with their halo-halo!

Roasted zucchini should not be missed and of course the mini cakes. If only I can enlarge my stomach so I can put all the food that I want. Haha.

Of course, we got this with a discount through MetroDeal (Php1409.00). Thanks The Cafe of The City of Dreams and MetroDeal!

The King Louis Grill & Bar: King's Ala Carte Dinner Buffet

ABBEY: Chat’s hard and quality work has been rewarded and we’re glad she invited us to celebrate it. We dined at The King Louis - Vivo City. At first, we planned to have ala carte items but ended with an ala carte buffet at SGD39.90++ (per head).

We were given a checklist of the menu. We got mushroom, pumpkin and onion soups, onion rings, baked rice, and carbonara. They’re delicious and really filled us. But we didn’t stop there. We also tried their roasted beef, pork loin, arabian lamb and pork ribs. Those ribs really got me. They get off the bones easily and the meat is soft.

For our last order we had King’s brownie and we all washed the food down with rootbeer float which really reminds us of famous A&W’s one.

The portions will be small, but since it is a buffet you can have it many times. This is good control of food else you will pay for the wastage.

WILL: Abbey, Charito and I celebrated a blessing with another blessing. Chat (Charito) chose to dine at The King's Lois Grill & Bar located at the of VivoCity (beside Daiso).

We decided to go for King's Ala Carte Dinner Buffet. It is limited time and it still worth it. Why? The baby back ribs is something to linger on. I ate those until my tank is full haha! Drinks are included too, go on and order a pot of tea, a coffee or one of the best float I had tasted.

It only costs $39.90++. A good deal for great food, good service and best place to dine in VivoCity.

Edge - Asian and Pacific Restaurant - Pan Pacific Singapore

ABBEY: Another night of farewell for Wilma's colleagues so another dinner was setup. I am a self-proclaimed  "adopted" son of Rejoice so I came as my wife's tag-along. It was in The Egde at Pan-Pacific Hotel. One pax is at 83SGD.

The ambiance got a homey-feel.

I indulged in sashimi, sushi, Korean food like bibimbap and spicy rice cake. Their bak kut teh has bitter after taste though.

What I like the most is their grill station. Pick from pork chops, shrimp, and sausages. Only salt and pepper on the grill but you can put sauce like ketchup, soy and vinegar, and mustard. Don't forget your wooden stick to place your order.

They also have laksa, baked cray fish and pasta. No chicken tandoor when we dined; sad.

The staff is fast to clean up the plates, so fast that Wilma's office mate was almost shock when her plate vanished in an instant even she is still eating.

I got a scoop of salted caramel ice cream on a cone and pieces of chocolate rum for dessert.

WILL: It is not a goodbye for three of our colleagues but wish them luck to their new venture. To celebrate that, Ms Ivy booked a dinner buffet at Pan Pacific Edge. We can get to try and put in a verdict on one of the famous buffet restaurant of Singapore.

Of course, as usual, we went for sashimi and sushi for appetiser. They ran of dipping saucer. It took a while for them to get some of those.

They have bbq live station. I asked for Pork Sausage and pork chop. Sausage is ok but the porkchop's meat is totally hard to chew. I surrendered the fight against that pork meat on my 4th try.

Their bulgogi and chili crab is delicious. Do not forget your fried mantau to partner up with your chili crab!

I requested The Real Carbonara on their pasta station. It was delivered on our table, excitedly I took a first try and frustratingly swallowed it. Gosh! It is creamy but too salty. I tried their lobster and it was bad. It is not cooked nor half-cooked, it still "raw".

Papadum is crispy and not too oily.

They have station there that you can get your complimentary tea and coffee. The tea taste is overly soaked.

I am sorry for the rants but this is not what I am expecting to the winner of the Best Buffet in Singapore for almost every year.

I do hope that you will take an account for the comments above.

Colony at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore - Valentine's Day Dinner Special

ABBEY: It is ok to splurge on something fancy from time to time. So I booked a reservation for me and Wilma to attend Colony Valentine's Day Dinner at Ritz-Carlton Millenia.

It is an international buffet compose of Western, Japanese, Chinese, Indian and local cuisines. Couples were able to strike a pose on the photo booth and created personal love notes for their loved ones.  Each lady received a big bulb of red rose and the pair enjoy a glass of Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé 2006.

This gave the ordinary buffet a romantic feel. I had sushi and slices of salmon.

Then I also tasted tomahawk beef (soft and tender), chicken and mutton satay (their mutton satay meat is very soft). For Indian food, I indulged in butter chicken, papaddum, briyani rice and chicken tandoor.

I also had a plate of red sauce pasta and dumplings.

The dinner started at 7PM and lasted for 3.5 hours. Prepayment of 108SGD per adult is required. Great food and service. Thanks Ritz-Carlton and Colony.

WILL: Since January, Abbey is agitated where we will celebrate the 14th of Feb. He wants to surprise me, he wants to book a hotel BUT my work leaves won't permit that plan. So, it ended up for us to have a dinner.

This make him spend, big time! Gosh! I know how much but he always shush me whenever I want to hold this case. He always assures, that it is in his budget. Okay then. What can I do if it is already paid. Yep! In Colony you need to pay upon reservation.

So, I wonder why they hike up their dinner buffet price. There is a photo booth, a DIY card corner, 2 glass of champagne and a long-stem red rose.

The food? What hits me most? Their cotton candy (delivered to my table), the laksa, of course their sashimi, shelled crab, and their dessert. Forget the cakes, I indulge on their ----. We asked kept in looking for roasted pork and cannot find it, luckily one of the Colony people gave us a plate of sliced pork that is somewhat near to it.

This is the only buffet that I didn't take tea. Oh! Thanks for guava and jackfruit. It is lovely to see those, actually it is unusual for buffets.

Am I coming back? Do not get me wrong, I enjoyed pigging out in Colony but I will not be coming back. Anyways, kudos to all the kind very patient staffs! :)

Holiday Inn® Singapore Atrium Restaurant - Dinner Buffet

ABBEY: We had our send-off party for Gil and Noel at Holiday Inn Atrium. It is a dinner buffet.

They have BBQ pork ribs (it slides off the bone) and chicken, slow-cooked salmon (had to come back twice for this), sushi, sashimi, roasted lamb leg, and Thai beef noodles.

I also tried their kiddie meal: red sauce pasta and pizza. For dessert I got ice kachang and ice cream. It was a feast. But when the BBQ pork ribs ran out, it was not replenished.

We had a good time; good stories and good meal. By the way we availed their one for one promo.

WILL: No, it is not a farewell party. It is just a send-off to our friends. An "all-the best for your future endeavours" party. We gave them choices where to pig-out and they selected the dinner buffet at Holiday Inn Atrium.

As soon as we arrived at the venue, Abbey took videos and started eating. For only $45.90nett we feasted on that dinner. I am not sure how many times I stand to get food for my plate. Haha. My favourite? Their sushi topped with mayonnaise and their ever tender grilled pork. I never had a pork like that. But be alert, it is easily refilled and you will never know it is all gone. Yikes! This is the only buffet that I know that I ate a rice. Grilled pork and fried rice. Perfect!

Plate after plate, we chatter about the next plans in our life, on career and on being an investors. Their tea, coffee is bottomless. They enjoyed a dessert that comes up with a ball of alcoholic drink. :)

We went home with full stomach. Happy belly again!

Eatery at Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview (Lunch and Dinner Buffet)

ABBEY: We went here for lunch buffet with Kuya Iking. The buffet is still being setup but they already ushered us to our table.

It was a seafood buffet and I reminded myself to be more cautious of the food. I think every dish that they can put shrimp into, they did. I had Hokien prawn mee and enjoyed it as I drizzle it with calamansi (palabok style). Also I got pasta, tuna and greek salads. Then I tried their tandoori lamb. It was delicious. For dessert I had chocolate and vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. To settle it all, I went for coffee. The staff keeps looking at us as we're resting and they keep on asking us to eat more. Maybe they thought that we don't like the buffet. To prove them wrong, we went again at Four Points, this time for dinner, 7 days after our lunch.

It was a lobster feast. Wilma's colleagues went with us and each one was given a half serving of a lobster. What I enjoyed the most are baked halibut, seafood rice, sashimi (I missed this when we had lunch), chicken in paper, and their fried shrimp with wasabi mayo. Definitely it was a feast.

And to top the experience we got it for 50% off as I'm Starwood Preferred Guest member.

WILL: We were the luckiest person in earth that we both availed the lunch and dinner buffet at Eatery at Four Points by Sheraton for 50% off. Yes! 50% off. Later I will tell you how. ;)

I am expecting that they have almost have the similar variants on lunch and dinner but surprisingly they have different food served.

What the best food I have tried on their lunch? It is their scallop dumpling. I almost finish the whole bunch on the steaming machine. Haha! Then on dinner, of course their lobster baked with cheese! Yummmm! Oh! Don't forget to get some gong gong. Deep fried coated shrimp and hot chocolate cake that is available on lunch and dinner buffet are the food that you shouldn't let passed. :) haha.

So how we got the 50% off in this newly opened Four Points by Sheraton (Riverview)? Because we registered to be a member in here. It is free guys! Plate @ Carlton City Hotel - Dinner Buffet

ABBEY: My younger brother and his family paid us a visit at the start of 2016. So we planned to have a buffet dinner. We went to The Plate at Carlton City Hotel (Tanjong Pagar); which offers seafood and international buffet. We were an hour early and they are still setting up. When they opened, we were ushered to our table. The staff really took care of our needs as we have a little cute baby in our group.

We hurriedly went to the buffet table and pick up our first rounder. Mine was sushi and sashimi. After saying grace, we indulged ourselves to every bite. Next I got roast beef; the part with oozing fats :) It was delicious. Then I went for baked salmon with yogurt and cucumber sauce along with that I also had baked potatoes. For dessert I made my own ice kachang. Only ice and syrup. Haha. No beans. Then I also tried their chocolate ice cream. It is creamy and not that much sweet.

We got the deal from Deal.com.sg for only $40.00.

WILL: As a matter of fact, buffets can either make you spend or make you save money.  In our course, we always make it to the point that we will surely be on "save money" side.

As usual, we treat our Singapore tourist with a buffet dinner and I am glad that deal.com.sg offers a mouthwatering list of buffer options. Abbey and I chose the Friday Dinner Night pf The Plate at the Carlton City.

What to expect for $40 nett (voucher price)? Seafood! Arrays of Singaporean menu, bak kut teh, live station of laksa and pastas, and ice kachang. Their mini cakes, roasted beef and ice creams. That value includes refreshments like soda, juices, tea, and coffee. Do not forget to indulge on their ice creams.

The place is full-packed that day and all people seems enjoyed their food. Kuddos to the lovely staffs that relentlessly clearing our table and keeping our little one feel like home. :)

Brazil Churrasco - Barbecue Restaurant · Diner · Buffet Restaurant

ABBEY: It's my birthday and I'm entitled to eat for free at Brazil Churasco at Sixth Avenue. Brazil Churasco offers a buffet of succulent meat cuts.

We were warmly welcomed by their staff and ushered us to our table. Since it is our first time going there, they explained to us what is offered on that day. We were told to go easy on salad and appetizers for us not get full easily. They have wide range of selection in the salad bar like tuna, olives, pickled green chilli and cherry tomatoes. We also have creamy pumpkin soup and bread.

A couple of minutes we're sitted, then the main courses came one by one. First off is the turkey ham and pork sausage. Still munching on those then beef short ribs landed on our plate. After that came the smoked duck breast and the chicken hearts and liver. We dipped those in vinegar with cubed onion and capsicums. The beef hump is garlicky and I liked its taste and texture.

What I liked the most is the beef topside. Since it is my natal day, I can consider it as cheat day. The fat of freshly roasted beef runs thru the tender medium-rare meat. I think I had 3-4 servings of that. The last one I partnered it with garlice rice (tapsilog ala Churasco).

Thanks Brazil Churasco for sumptuous food you gave us.

WILL: Happy Birthday Husband!! :) It's Abbey's birthday and I am on a hunt where we can have fine dinner in a decent place but with reasonable price. Haha!

I am always eyeing for Brasil Churassco eversince they held a free dinner for the first callers on their anniversary. Well, I am not so lucky to have a free dinner that night, haha. But when they announced a free dinner for birthday celebrators well, I got to take that chance. So this dinner awarded Abbey a free-of-charge dinner buffet. ;)

So what Brazilian Churrasco Buffet is all about? It is a buffet of barbecued meats. From pork, beef, lambs and fish, how about barbecued  pineapples and chicken heart? Haha. I am so glad to taste their beefs! It is tender, juicy and the milky taste is there. We are not usually eating rice when we were at buffets but meat are so yummy to pass the opportunity. Haha. Drooollll!

We will surely be coming back in here. Specially now, Sixth Avenue MRT is now up, Brasil Churrasco is just steps away from that train station.

Kuddos to all the ever-smiling staffs that do not get tired rounding our table for meat.

Do not forget to pair up your meat with wine guys!
