Coyote Ugly Saloon in Clarke Quay Singapore

ABBEY: It was my birthday and Wilma came up with an unusual place for dinner: Coyote Ugly. We were there 5PM and yes it was way too early. Haha.

We got a plate of nachos and a jug of mojito. And for me Hawaiian Time Burger (comes with drink). The nacho is full of toppings and crunchy. My burger is a grilled chicken burger with cheddar and mayo which flows out of every bite and eating is almost messy. And I drown it all with two servings of the cocktail.

We left after 2 hours when the music grew loud as the bar comes to life. Signs of aging huh?

WILL: It’s Abbey’s birthday and we celebrated his birthday with one of his favourite comfort food. Burgers and fries at one of his unfamiliar place, a bar. Haha!

I saw very enticing $10 promotion of burgers & fries and $35 jug of Mojito. Oh please take note, their patty is wagyu beef! Yeahba!

How’s the taste? Of course not your fastfoods' burger. The patty is thick and vegetable inside is fresh! The bun is soft and dressing binds everything well! The fries is not a fresh cut potato but every piece has its crisp. The pitcher of Mojito will serve up to 8 glasses and damn!...it has a kick! Good to say it is not watered down.

The place is quite peaceful from 5-7 but when the clock passed 7 the music came to life and we can’t hardly hear each other. Well, the night just got started!

Will definitely come back and want to witness the coyotes to dance at the bar! This is a must visit, it is value for money!

Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ

ABBEY: After a day of conference for the Institute of Blockchain Singapore’s launch, Alvin (CEO and founder) gave the volunteers a dinner. It was at Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ (The Central).

They have sushi, sashimi, satays, laksa, pasta, fish fillet, chilli crab, soup and rice. The Mongolian BBQ taste great; depends greatly on your preference of sauce like garlic or sesame oil. I prefer chicken though. The beef is hard to chew even though the slices are thin. Coffee, soda, and juices are also included.

Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ
Institute of Blockchain Singapore with Volunteers and NEM Singapore

WILL: I just volunteered to help whatever I can on Institute of Blockchain Singapore official launch event and  it ended up with this; Two NEM personnel became speakers, one panellist and a photographer. Oh! You can see me at the registration too! Haha! To talk more about future collaborations, Alvin Chua invited NEM team for a dinner. Woootwooot! Thanks IBS Boss!

I know that if it is Mongolian cuisine, there will be someone who will cook for you, but I am not expecting to have a huge wheel like plain flat iron.

Anyways, what is the best? I will go for their mushroom soup with freshly baked bread on top. It is filling. Sorry I didn’t try their mongolian cooked food. Their chili crab is so-so. Their mussels is too salty. But I enjoyed the prawns and sushi plus non-stop talking with the IBS volunteers!

Karma is always around. It is a boomerang! You do one good thing, well, it will come back to you in three-folds!

More good karma to you Alvin and whole IBS! Till the next launch abroad!

Eatery at Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview (Lunch and Dinner Buffet)

ABBEY: We went here for lunch buffet with Kuya Iking. The buffet is still being setup but they already ushered us to our table.

It was a seafood buffet and I reminded myself to be more cautious of the food. I think every dish that they can put shrimp into, they did. I had Hokien prawn mee and enjoyed it as I drizzle it with calamansi (palabok style). Also I got pasta, tuna and greek salads. Then I tried their tandoori lamb. It was delicious. For dessert I had chocolate and vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. To settle it all, I went for coffee. The staff keeps looking at us as we're resting and they keep on asking us to eat more. Maybe they thought that we don't like the buffet. To prove them wrong, we went again at Four Points, this time for dinner, 7 days after our lunch.

It was a lobster feast. Wilma's colleagues went with us and each one was given a half serving of a lobster. What I enjoyed the most are baked halibut, seafood rice, sashimi (I missed this when we had lunch), chicken in paper, and their fried shrimp with wasabi mayo. Definitely it was a feast.

And to top the experience we got it for 50% off as I'm Starwood Preferred Guest member.

Eatery at Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview

WILL: We were the luckiest person in earth that we both availed the lunch and dinner buffet at Eatery at Four Points by Sheraton for 50% off. Yes! 50% off. Later I will tell you how. ;)

I am expecting that they have almost have the similar variants on lunch and dinner but surprisingly they have different food served.

What the best food I have tried on their lunch? It is their scallop dumpling. I almost finish the whole bunch on the steaming machine. Haha! Then on dinner, of course their lobster baked with cheese! Yummmm! Oh! Don't forget to get some gong gong. Deep fried coated shrimp and hot chocolate cake that is available on lunch and dinner buffet are the food that you shouldn't let passed. :) haha.

So how we got the 50% off in this newly opened Four Points by Sheraton (Riverview)? Because we registered to be a member in here. It is free guys! You can use it internationally and gain points that you can redeem for free stays. Promotions are all over at SPG members and its free, you do not have the excuse not to be part of it. :)

Dinner Buffet at Riverwalk Tandoor (20 Upper Circular Rd Branch)

ABBEY: I've been here a couple of times but this is the only time I got to write up for Riverwalk Tandoor as this is time I dined there with my wife. Others occassions are with my colleagues.

In here, I got my favorite chicken tandoor. Partner them with mint chutney or briyani rice and it is heaven. Pappadums are endless. I think I ate 5-6 bowls of it. Order a serving of freshly made butter or plain naan and dip in their chicken or mutton curry. I'm drooling while writing this. They also have menu for vegetarian and have dessert as well (wow, gulab jamun).

The restaurant is located at 20 Upper Circular Road, B1-38 The Riverwalk. Dinner buffet costs 19.90++ (Mon-Thurs) and 20.90++ (Fri-Sun). Check their site for promotions and other prices.

WILL: Abbey have been for a number of times due to official meetings. Well, if he can tag me along why not. But on those instances I cannot go with him. So on the day that he want to make a farewell to one of his colleague he chose to celebrate it in Riverwalk Tandoor.

It is just beside the MoM at Clarke Quay. It's dinner on a Monday we do not expect it to be full but all the seats were occupied around 7pm. Good thing we made a reservation.

I love the most is their Tandoori Chicken that i smothered the mint sauce and ate it with their biryani rice. I can't remember how many times I went back to buffet table for papadum. Why? Their papadum is not oily but still crunchy. I love it!
Abbey's colleague is picky in food but this restaurant made her full. It only means that Riverwalk Tandoor has delectable menu. Cheers!

Claude Bernard's (Singapore) 40th Anniversary @ Shanghai Dolly

ABBEY: We got invited on the 40th birthday celebration of Swiss-made watch Claude Bernard. It was held at Shanghai Dolly in Clarke Quay. The party was retro-themed and the best dressed couple received a pair of timepieces.

We were informed that light refreshment and snacks will be served at the event. A big buffet of pasta, chicken, and macarons flowed the entire time. We won a spa voucher worth 180sgd by naming a tune on one of their games. A live band did a mini concert that rendered rock n roll genre where people danced and sang along. We also had our souvenir snaps from their photo booth.

WILL: Its a fact that when you see in the labels that the product is a "Swiss Made" it is really a quality. Switzerland excels from banking, chocolates and even watches. Then the Claude Bernard the handmade wristwatches came from this country.
Claude Bernard celebrates its 40th anniversary here in Singapore, Abbey and I was one of the privileged ones to attend this celebration at Shanghai Dolly (Clarke Quay).
After registration, Abbey and I pose for some shots and walked our way to the gallery of watches. Well, I am astounded by the beauty of its simple designs. The price ranged from $300 up. I will buy ine of those for Abbey's bday ;)
The party is well rocked up by the 70's music. The people from all ages are happy dancing its feet.
This is a great party. Harjeet indicate in the email that there is a light refreshment to be served but hey, it made my tummy full. The desserts were really good!
Thanks  Claude Bernard for the invites! More more anniversary to come.

Shiraz

ABBEY: After enjoying a rocking concert by Parokya ni Edgar looked for a bite to eat. Then we saw Shiraz's shawarma. I hurriedly get in the queue and ordered a chicken shawarma and falafel. The chicken shawarma combo comes with drinks and fries at less than 15sgd. The veggie falafel is at 8.80. The sauce that we got is garlic-mayo. It was good. Enough to fill our hunger. The branch where we ate is at Clarke Quay.

WILL: After the Parokya ni Edgar concert at The Arena, after screaming our lungs out, after the jumping against the rhythm of their music, I was drained. Totally tired and staved. I can make it to our home and there we can eat a dinner, but Abbey insisted to eat out and refill our body's energy. I just want something light since it is almost 11PM, gladly we passed to Shiraz.
Shiraz offers Persian cuisine and we just there to hit their shawarma. Abbey ordered chicken shawarma and vegetable falafel. I like their vegetable one, it seems that there is beef inside. Haha,.. This is located 3A River Valley Road Clarke Quay. And their food costs $8.80.

Clarke Quay Ladies Night Out Party - 30 May 2012

ABBEY: Yes we won the invites for the event and we made sure that I can go since it's called "Ladies" night out. Clarke Quay holds a Ladies night every Wednesday and on every last Wednesday of the month until December 2012 an exclusive party will happen.

The launch is fun; free flow of cocktails, bite-size snacks, booths for hair, make-up, nails, and tattoos. Live bands, games and fashion were among the activities. With a goodie bag after the party I'm sure the ladies had some fun that night, right Wil?

WILL: Confusion stroke upon us when Abbey won an exclusive invitation for Carlo Rino fashion show at Aquanova Clarke Quay. I was entitled Ladies Night and we really asked the Carlo Rino Team if he can go in. Compliments  who handles the email inquiries for the very kind assistance. We excitedly queue, this our first time to attend a Fashion Show/Ladies Night.
Upon entering, there were two hunks who is very willing for the ladies to take photo with them. Muscled man!!! Inside, drinks were ready and every person was handed each, pica-pica were served and many girlie things on the side was offered. Free make-up, free hair-do, manicure and even tattoo service was there.
Carlo Rino and Bebe hit the mini stage with astonishing the new collection. I think, I have 2 bags and 3 dresses that really caught my eye. There are also contests and bands to fire-up the night.
We take home a hamper, with Burberry samples. Carlo Rino, Bebe and Aquanova gave vouchers. Thanks to the sponsors. This is really unforgettable night. Ooppps, drink moderately, or else.. Haha!

Hooters Singapore

Abbey: This is the place where you can actually "Hoot!! Hoot!!" Hehe. The good thing is almost the restaurants along Clarke Quay are offering a SGD10-lunch. It starts from 11am-2pm. Before namin kinuha yung medical results ni Wilma, we had lunch at Hooters. Girls wearing orange short shorts at razor back sexy shirt. Kaya it appeals to everyone's eyes, specially guys. The staff who hosted us was a Pinay. Nung una akala namin local residents, then nagulat kami nung nagtanong na "Pwede ko na bang kunin ito, Ate?", pertaining to the empty bowl of mushroom soup. Sarap kasi e, tapos may kasama pang garlic bread. The lunch is consist of : 1 soup of the day, 1 main course, 1 soda, and 1 hot drink (coffee or tea). Serving is big enough para mabusog ako ng todo. Kaya after kumain, nag-stay pa muna kami ng 15mins. Wilma told me that we will come back there before the promo ends.

WILL: I really like Abbey to go to places like this, but he insist the opposite. Good boy daw sya. hehehe. Well, what will you expect in Hooters? A hot girls and their bababooms. hehe..
Enough with the nice girls, we went there to avail their lunch promo for only SGD12.50 (DBS user). It has a soup, a soda, a choice of hot tea or hot coffee, then their meal.
As usual, they have a big serving for my small appetite. Their mushroom soup is exceptional and their meal is so good.
Try it guys. Linger in :)
